They shouldn't have to put money in - honestly the only way this is going to work is if Broughton / JDT / Waggot (gags) generate their own transfer / salary funds through player sales (and perhaps cup runs) and tell the Venkys to keep their hands off. What is this obsession with a midfield enforcer? We need someone in there that can pass the ball - the reason why the 'playing out from the back' style is so maligned by a good portion of our fanbase is because our CMs don't consistently give the CBs an option. We literally need a Tugay.

Hence why it's a big statement of intent - has Brougton convinced the owners that it's in our best interest to sell BBD and reinvest the money, or is it more of the same scratching around with peanuts when we desperately need reinforcements.

I don't know why people bait him - just let him be.

He used the Carabao Cup to give fringe / young players a run out. He kept with that policy against West Ham and Notts Forest - we beat West Ham's strong side, but not Forest's. I have no problem with that. He's clearly treating the FA cup as a more premium competition - which it is as the prize money per round is significant.

He didn't get on - JDT brought on Hedges for Vale as we were hanging on at the end.

We're hardly flooded with options upfront. If we don't bring anyone in during this window he'll get game time. There's clearly a player in there.

On the contrary JDT clearly believes Wharton is a brilliant player, but he's 18 with maturity issues.
