  1. I mean that's blatantly not true. Tronstad. Ohahsi. Gueye (if you're that way inclined).
  2. That's practically impossible as long as he's a professional footballer.
  3. Tyjon and Leonard would get the absolute shit kicked out of them playing as a 9 in the Championship.
  4. Or he's pissed off that his captain has come to him and asked to leave and he's not going to shield him from any blame.
  5. When we offered Buckley, Garrett et al new deals we had a competent Director of Football and thought we had a reasonable Championship budget. We were securing assets - whether for our first team or to sell to someone else. Hyam had just been signed and Travis had multiple years on his deal. Now we're clearly trying to stretch a miniscule budget as far as it can go, with absolutely no guarantees that any more money is coming across. Hence the short term contracts to new signings, a £10k a week salary cap and selling anyone of value to fund the transfers (i.e. Brittain and JRC's transfer fees will have more than covered any outgoing transfer fees).
  6. That can't possibly be true because I don't recall a story about Morris' agent coming to an untimely death.
  7. The owners seem determined to hang on to the club for the lowest possible amount of money. They've put nothing in for years with the Wharton / Szmodics / Raya sales funding the club. They've put a nominal amount in this year to keep the lights on. There simply has to be some massive skeletons in the closet for them not to sell as you simply can't run a football club like this. A shoestring budget with morons in charge.
  8. Good lord. Rats deserting a sinking ship.
  9. So is that £30k a week offer for Travis from Derby? Cos if so, bloody hell.
  10. Ah yes, that well known tactic of going 1-0 and then sitting back. That's never bitten a team in the rear. The fact of the matter is, there was v. little between us and WBA last week. This talk of them "ripping us apart" or "being happy to sit back and see out the game" are just silly. Look, I'm as negative as the next fan (moreso when it comes to our owners), but it's not as doom and gloom on the pitch as many are making out. Barring a rash of injuries I think we'll just about be ok this season - I'd be more confident in saying that if we sign an actual RW. I'm very bleak about our long term prospects, but I try not to worry about that too much.
  11. He's a better golfer than he is a GK then.
  12. I think it needs someone to come in and agree to keep the audit of their finances hush-hush. Takes a brave investor to do that - and I'm also not sure how legal that is! Failing that, yes we're looking to the Indian Govt to force them to sell. It's a ridiculous situation.
  13. We got £1m for JRC though. I'd rather have our assets tied down than not.
  14. If he PAID us £20k a week to play for us for the next year I'd be hesitant to take him.
  15. Like Markanday, he's found his level. As for the development loans - that's the pond we fish in. We're unwilling to pay for the more highly sought after loanees (who are earmarked as better / further along in their development) so we get the cheap ones like ACD, Clarkson, Mola et al - the ones PL clubs have little hope for, but are willing to see what they've got playing men's football.
  16. He's clearly got some good agent / club contacts, but what he knows about football could fit on a postage stamp.
  17. The annoying thing about Hedges is that he's not shite, technically. Like they can't just all sigh when he turns up at training because he can't trap a bag of cement. I bet he's half decent at the drills. His brain just shuts down when he gets into the final third on match days.
  18. It's bonkers how differently people see the game.
  19. As in none of the 17/18 year olds in the Academy could step into a Championship game right now? No, those players are stolen from the crib. I'm sure we've got half a dozen on our books right now that will play significant minutes for us over the years.
  20. Again, a player's legend grows as soon as he's destined to leave. I don't want to lose Travis, because your captain walking out on you tells you that the club is fucked behind the scenes, but he's nothing special. PL clubs have never been interested. Ipswich wanted him as a bench player. JDT didn't rate him - it's only really Eustace that has got a consistent tune out of him.
  21. Travis is nowhere near the footballer Tronstad is.
  22. We've had the misfortune of being the only club in England owned by owners with bulletproof finances. They've completely torn the heart and soul out of the club, but they have enough money to keep paying our (dwindling) bills so nothing is done. It's a zombie club. A shell of the club we all started supporting. We're in football purgatory.
  23. They haven't played in front of silent or toxic fans.
