I've still got zero problem with Ismael telling the truth - that Travis wants out and has submitted a transfer request. As for the spinning narrative - you mean what's left of our fan base, right? Tens of thousands have walked away.

I hope he goes. I'd be sick to get any further compensation for him (thereby easing the burden on the Venkys and prolonging their toxic stay), but what an opportunity for the lad.

In my opinion we needed both Travis and Baradji. We're, at best, treading water replacing one with the other. At the moment we're still reliant on Forshaw / Montgomery to come off the bench to play significant minutes.

Neither Phillips or Finneran were good enough when we gave them their debuts - but the club thought they were worth 'playing the game' with in terms of contract negotiations. This French lad has never even sniffed the bench.

We played an 18 year old Dolan off the bat. Tyjon is in the first team this year. Finneran and Phillips were played at 16/17 year olds. He just clearly isn't good enough to justify taking that ESC slot.

It's why I say we have the worst owners in football. They've not burned as brightly as some, but there seems to be no end to them - no light at the end of the tunnel.

You don't quite drop off that quickly (speaking as someone who's noticed that I've lost a yard of pace recently), but it does sneak up on you. People have to remember Batth isn't playing against 30-odd year olds in a kick about. He's playing against teenagers and 20 year olds at the peak of their powers. If you lose half a step it's noticeable. Look at Casemiro at United - he runs like he's broken a hip and he's only 33 (supposedly). Professional sport is unforgiving.

The biggest downgrade is the manager. Man for man I don't think there's much in it. Alebiosu offers something different to Brittain (not as good on the ball, but far better defensively). McLoughlin seems solid. Miller is going to become a cult hero. Tavares looks like he has something about him. The problem with the first XI is that we lost a poor RW and simply haven't replaced him.

We've been in and around the Playoffs the last 3 or 4 seasons with literally EVERYTHING working against us. This is a mid table PL club with its head held underwater by wankers in India and the cunts they employ at Ewood.

Of course standards are through the floor - I used to watch Tugay, Jansen, McCarthy warm up and marvel at their skill. Now our players are barely able to trap a football.
