Y'all love your straw men. Setting expectation at Playoffs or bust is hilarious. We're clearly not that club under these owners - look at the money Wrexham and Birmingham have spent. We also have 3 parachute payment teams and Sheffield United hanging around too. We'll be mid table, adrift of the automatic promotion spots by Christmas and just generally making up the numbers unless Gestede is a genius and all of these new signings are excellent.

The non-reversed halves in those highlights trigger me something fierce. It's just not a Rovers kit.

I think from a pure numbers standpoint we need another CF. Ohashi and Gueye will get injured at some point and / or lose form. You can't then just pick the other as the default starter. They want Leonard out the door (and he's not a #9) and Tyjon is too young (and not a #9 either). The balancing act is what player you bring in - you should always be aiming for better than you've got, and it'd be nice to have some pace - but can we afford that? I've said from the beginning that I'll judge Gueye (Target Man) and Ohashi (Poacher) when they get consistent service - with Kargbo, Morishita, Cantwell et al they might actually get that now. They'll be different propositions entirely this season I think.

He's definitely answered honestly. We've also definitely not offered him a suitable contract extension. We're both in the wrong and both in the right.

With regards to the outgoing players - Travis is a loss, but Buckley and JRC (he never recovered that form he had during JDTs first season) aren't and quite frankly I'm glad we've been ruthless and moved both on.

He's the type of player that keeps you in a game, but he doesn't win games for you. He's also a paper tiger - tries to play the hard man, but we all know he's soft. He's not an enforcer.

Ismael (who I'm on record as not particularly liking) was asked a question about Travis and answered honestly - he's asked to leave and he's let the team down. I have no problem with that. It's not a hatchet job. Travis' camp's reaction tells you they're very unhappy with that as they were trying to quietly slip out of the door into Eustace's arms as the hard done to hero.

Interesting little tidbit from the manager there, that they'd been after Morishita for weeks. We genuinely hadn't heard a sniff about it.

Ah c'mon that's too far. The heart was ripped out of the club many years ago. Players like Buckley, Travis, S. Wharton wouldn't have got a sniff when we were good.

Hedges fired it wide - so you don't need to give him any credit. A player making an excellent run and not being passed to isn't his fault.

His pace opens up the game for others - you have to respect that he can run in behind with ease. With Dolan you never had to be scared of that. That'll create opportunities for Cantwell et al.

Kargbo has pace that frightens the life out of teams. Dolan couldn't outrun Pickering. That's clearly an upgrade, if he can stay healthy. Weimann was an impact sub last season - his legs have completely gone.

I hope so because Soumano's highlight tape is incredibly underwhelming.
