  1. I think the way they handled the Eustace debacle has pulled the wool from some eyes. He wasn't asking for the world - just some security for himself, his players and a conversation with the owners to find out what the long-term plan was. Instead they performed deliberate sabotage (again), followed by them pissing on the fans with that statement. I won't be going next year and I gather many around me in the stand won't either.
  2. One glance at the performances of the Academy graduates on loan would make you pump the brakes on that plan - if you were committed to driving the club forward (or whatever that AI statement said). The next wave is clearly miles off it. You're absolutely going down if they're getting major minutes next season.
  3. I think we'll go winless the rest of the season. Make no mistake about it, Portsmouth were abysmal today - one chance, one goal (Pears tried to gift them a second, but Buckley managed to get back and clear the ball). If we can't even beat the likes of Portsmouth and Cardiff we've got no chance.
  4. Hedges should have scored and Carter should have done better with both of his chances. I appreciate he's a CB being played at RB, but the one in the second half was particularly wasteful - nobody around him in the area and he crosses it out of play (I think he was shooting).
  5. It's pretty clear most of the players aren't arsed any more. Sure they'll take the win if you gift it to them, but the way Eustace left has taken the fight from them. Travis is a shadow of the player he was earlier in the season.
  6. Eustace had an immediate impact - you could see he was trying to stem the flow of goals and make us hard to beat. This French lad though - fuck knows what he's trying to do.
  7. He's had nothing to do all game and he still tried to give us all a heart attack on an innocuous ball over the top. Awful, awful GK and the fact he has so many starts is a glaring indicator or how bad things are at the club.
  8. That's the only positive in all this. We're mathematically safe and in their haste to get ahead of the negative PR around Eustace leaving for a smaller club in dire straits they've appointed an absolute turd of a manager and given him a long contract. JDT and Eustace kept the heat off Waggott, Suhail and the Venkys because they were performing miracles. Ismael has turned the spotlight back on them.
  9. Gueye has made a big difference, but Hedges and Dolan aren't goal scorers and Cantwell is dropping so deep to get onto the ball. Woodrow is terrible mind and Ohashi is a pure poacher - he needs the ball in and around the box.
  10. I think many fans expect him to be a miracle worker because at one point he was incredibly highly rated. You just have to look at that pass to Dolan - lovely ball, great weight on it, but Dolan is just so incredibly slow that the LB was happy to watch it run out of play.
  11. Their #8 needs to be off - repeated offences when already on a yellow (just kicked the ball away again). Get a handle on the game.
  12. Williams dispossessed so he decides to go over the top on Cantwell in frustration.
  13. Sounds like Carter has done his hamstring too.
  14. Incredibly wasteful from Carter - golden opportunity.
  15. Defensively he's been as solid as ever. He's misplaced some of his progressive passes though - not the simple ones, the ones where he's trying to thread it.
  16. Dire game of football. They scored their 1 chance. Hedges and Carter missed ours.
  17. Get Woodrow off. What a terrible player he is.
  18. That's all Lowe did. It's all I'd do too until the summer. Reassess then if you're completely tied to a 3-4-3 long ball system - you'll certainly have the room to shape the squad in your image because half of them won't be here.
  19. Genuinely, how does he want them to play? He's run them out in a 4-2-3-1, a 3-4-3 and a 4-4-2 system in just 5 games.
  20. "Just don't let Ohashi shoot - nobody else has a goal in them". Would be my team talk.
  21. He's a proper 'jam tomorrow' man isn't he? "The original plan was always for me to get to the international break" (he's changed his system 3 times in 5 games). "We're planning for the summer where we can get my type of players in" (was handed a team in 5th).
  22. Back when it was a contact sport, yes. The rules have changed - it's a red. Reckless, over the top of the ball and left his feet.
  23. Portsmouth player tries to break Ohashi's leg - yellow card. Batth wins the ball and the Portsmouth players falls over him - yellow card. And people wonder why I complain about the refs every week.
