Coventry v ROVERS

Can you be outstanding if you miss two sitters? A worrying trend for Holtby it seems. -

This ref has given us nothing since the red card. Is he feeling guilty? -

Holtby would have a hat trick if he could finish. -

Would people sing a different tune if he had the 3+ goals from Penalties that Armstrong has vultured? His all round play has been really, really good this year. -

Trybull looks a class act. We've lost a lot of legs by not playing Bell, Nyambe, Rothwell and Travis tho. -

Sorry if I've missed it - why isn't there a streaming code for this one? Is it because it's away? -

I mean by now it's pretty evident that Mowbray signed Brereton because he was available. He doesn't have a plan for him. -

The MOM was their goalkeeper - but it was awful, apparently. -

I'd argue Lenihan's own goal was a direct result of him being shit. It's a nothing ball into the box. -

Watch the highlights. Cleverley runs off the back of Holtby. Nyambe was a long way away from the play when they broke - unless he flat out sprinted the moment he saw Cleverley running he was never going to catch him. -

He's LITERALLY a CM running through the middle of the pitch - the ball was palmed out to the penalty spot. If we accepted CMs not doing their job and pointing at their man for someone else to take, Keith Andrews would be a Rovers legend. It's not on the RB - who is essentially playing RWB in this team - to pick up a CM breaking from midfield on a break. It's Holtby's man - Nyambe just ends up closest to him so therefore cops the blame from some. -

You've taken this Ben Whiteman transfer hard. -

So you think Cleverley broke into the FB position? Basics indeed. -

Lenihan the bloke who put a tame cross into his own net, or Holtby one of the CMs who didn't track back with Cleverley? You can't ask your FBs to play so advanced and then blame them for every goal that starts down the flanks. It's why you have 3 CMs - at least one of them is meant to cover for the FBs when they go forward. -

No. He's a wide player and needs to continue to play out there if he wants to develop. Currently FBs are standing off him as they've twigged he loves a step over. He needs to play 20 mins a week and either develop another trick or improve his delivery and force them to close him down. -

I knew someone would blame Brereton for the first goal. That's a team error. The second goal - since when is Cleverley the RBs man? That's on our three CMs - one of them has to track the runner from midfield. It's why you can't play Evans and Johnson together - they're too immobile. -

I think we've battered them. The immobile midfield and Ben Foster having a blinder has been the difference. If we play like that week in, week out, we'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season. Baffling result. -

It's not Bell's fault. He's being asked to play almost as a WB. It's on Mowbray to change the system to reflect the fact that Sarr is destroying us down the left. -

No, both teams were poor. I think most Rovers fans knew we were going to struggle with that starting midfield though. -

So you think they played well and created clear cut chances? I seem to recall their undeserved winner taking a cruel / lucky deflection. I think our GK only had one decent save to make. Thrilling(!) -

Not if that's your default style of play, no.
