  1. I'd sack him just for that. Pathetic.
  2. Let's be honest, it's a crap league and Mowbray is incredibly wasteful with money. Midtable is extremely plausible, with the right man in charge. Our Academy supported by a few shrewd signings would guarantee that. I just hate the idea of Mowbray leading that charge / Rovers settling for midtable mediocrity in the bloody Championship with billionaire owners. If that's their aim, why don't they just fuck off and let someone local take over? At least they'd allow the club to have some pride again and, hey, maybe even something resembling a professional internal structure. Just a thought.
  3. Bloody hell, is that true? Imagine being that cavalier with someone else's money.
  4. We were in the Prem at the time - he was awful for Rovers. Fabulous L1 player though, I'm sure.
  5. Andrews was awful, but nowhere near the worst. He only irritates me now when he gets wheeled out as the Blackburn pundit when we're on TV. All the greats to choose from and they bring in him...
  6. We're pretty close to becoming one.
  7. What do they all have in common? Weak domestic leagues.
  8. As good as Liverpool are, you don't have a team romping to a title like that in a strong league.
  9. C'mon, be reasonable. Our European Scouting network has only had 12 months(!) Give them 3 years. It's a slow and steady build.
  10. Yep. Fabulous athlete, scored a wonderful goal. Should have been sent off for diving.
  11. Horrible game of football that. I know it's very 2000s of me, but he playacting makes it unwatchable.
  12. I often catch my mind drifting at Ewood these days and thinking "I used to sit here watching Tugay, Jansen, McCarthy, Duff...what the fuck happened?" It makes the current dross painful to watch.
  13. In his shoes, as a Blackburn Rovers fan, I'd still go to West Brom, Sheffield It's or Fulham.
  14. Besides the Milan link, I believe they've had bids accepted from two PL clubs for him.
  15. It's a solid defensive partnership. Offers nothing going forward though.
  16. Joking aside, you could drop Messi into this Rovers team and we'd still struggle to finish Top 6.
  17. Same could be said for half the team, if we're brutally honest. At least Joe has some potential.
  18. There's Tony's sales pitch to the Venky's to get the transfer through the door.
  19. He doesn't bring enough to the table to play out wide or oust Dack behind the main striker. His defensive weakness is massively overblown.
  20. He could develop into a good Championship CM. He won't realise that under Mowbray though.
  21. If you're playing Evans and Travis together in CM, you'd better have worldies at FB or up front. They provide nothing in attack. It's an incredibly negative way to set up your team. I'd ask him to play CM with Travis with the understanding that Dack is playing AMC / #10 so he needs to get back when we don't have the ball. He's also MOST threatening when running with the ball through the centre - I watched a lot of iFollow post-lockdown and pretty much every commentator was marveling at how much panic he was sowing simply by being willing / able to carry the ball through the middle. Travis can cover for him - that's what he does best.
  22. He's a talented player that has been mismanaged. I think he's a CM who's been asked to play at AML because he's got a bit of pace and Mowbray has a love affair with a certain formation (and hasn't bought himself a squad to play it properly!). Put him alongside Travis (I'm under no illusions that we're going to sign a CM to compliment Travis) and give him a run of games. He TERRIFIES teams carrying the ball through the centre. He's athletic enough to get up and down the pitch and his defensive deficiencies are widely overblown. It also masks the fact that his final ball isn't great - even though his range of passing / vision is generally pretty good for this level. Of course this won't happen, so he'll go down as a bust.
  23. So you're for loans because they limit the financial damage our mediocre manager can do? That's fair when you consider some of the money he's spent.
  24. I've zero problem with loaning players - it's how the football pyramid operates (money talks, bullshit walks). I have a massive problem with those loan players not being ones that put you over the top. We, essentially, loaned Cunningham, Walton and Tosin to finish a comfortable midtable last year. That's an expensive, short term option that doesn't really benefit the club.
  25. It adds to the length of the 'slow build' if you don't own anyone. Crafty, Tony, craft.
