  1. Is this a friendly? Can't find anything about it online and they're not in our league.
  2. If we are including Dolan as a striker, which isn't his real role, we have to include Szmodics, who I'm quite sure has played there more times and is smashing this league.
  3. I could be mistaken, but I don't think that's got anything to do with EFL favouritism. I've noticed from looking for our highlights, we never post extended highlights, but some clubs do it routinely. We only have extended ones when our opponents post them through their own club account, and then we still don't post anything beyond the basic 2 mins version. I suspect clubs might have to pay a bit extra to post the extended ones, and that's why we (and most other clubs it seems, tbf) don't.
  4. Let's be fair, in our present state, we are a much better example of everything wrong with modern football, unfortunately. (Our academy aside...and even then, the way we have had academy players poached rankles somewhat)
  5. Good for him. A full career in football, built the right way, would probably have earned him a lot more in the long run though.
  6. Sure, my point though was he might not even have known that clause existed. Anyway he has wasted 6 months of his career warming Spuds' bench or playing in their ressies, and now he's playing at a shitter side than us, if he breaks into their team. Ah well!
  7. Hardly seems fair to call it bollocks. I already said he can fuck off and I don't want him here back on loan. Sorry for adding some perspective to the matter! Why do people have to adopt extreme positions on everything these days or someone will have a go? Incidentally, yes Bellingham did everything right. He was also a Birmingham fan though, Phillips isn't. Some players have done worse by us than him, that's for sure. But he can still fuck off.
  8. I mean, I'm certainly still bitter about it and that's part of why I say I don't want him back on loan. But in fairness, it's been pointed out before that he could have just not signed that contract and gone for far less. So at least he didn't go full BBD with it. And tbf, a 17 yr old kid isn't going to get involved in the negotiations too much or try to tell his agent what to do, he'll go with the flow. The agent will have wanted that putting in. But he can still fuck off 🤣 for buggering off before his pubes have finished growing! And I think we spent enough time developing him for Spurs as it is.
  9. Just seen an interview with Rory Finneran about his debut, and you can definitely tell from that he's just a kid 🤣 Interesting that he has no trace of an Irish accent and sounds like he's from here, but he has been with us since he was about 8. Anybody know where he was born?
  10. I wouldn't want him back here on loan.
  11. Yeh tbf it did occur to me whilst posting that last time I commented on him I was saying he was something like the 12th top scorer. Although with 4 other players tied in 7th, he's essentially joint 11th too. The numbers don't impress me at all for playing at this level, but it's one of those where if he signed you'd just have to trust the scouts. I know he's been linked with other Championship clubs so probably better than he looks on paper.
  12. Steady on, we're very much a proper club...just highly improperly ran.
  13. I don't see what the fuss is about League Two's joint-7th top scorer.
  14. When I said 'in that period', I meant Bentley onwards.
  15. Oh, I thought it was - 'Ryan is off to the factory, but on the plus side we'll have plenty of glue for the stationary cupboard'.
  16. Oh aye, well remembered. Was released less than 4 months later after 8 games and 1 goal. Course, he didn't leave us out of ambitiously seeking a big club, he left because he was being ostracised and the club was a shit-show. Very poor how him and Salgado were treated.
  17. As far as I can recall, Bentley and Phillips are the only sales we've made to Spurs since the former. They used to be linked to our players nearly constantly when we were in the Prem (it used to really do my tits in), but I can't think of any others that went through in that period. I may be forgetting someone. As you allude to though, there is a significant track record of Spurs being a graveyard for far more young players than become a success there. I reckon we'd have a slightly stronger England side by now if they hadn't been hoovering up and wasting youngsters for so long. There's also a significant track record of Rovers players thinking the grass was greener, but finding out their patch was in fact full of cow pats.
  18. There's zero chance they'd pay it, Spurs are notorious for not even paying the going rate as it is. You might as well just go with Wilsden's approach of telling them to fuck off. At least it would be more gratifying.
  19. I assume that's because he seems a fairly quiet, meek personality. Plus he seems close with his brother, who of course will be staying all the way up here. However you slice it, the ball should be in the club's court when bids do come in for young Adam. 4 and a half years on his deal, playing every week at 19, fan of the club with his brother playing here, there's almost zero chance he kicks up any real fuss even if he decides he'd rather move. The only fly in the ointment would be if some fool put a too-low minimum fee release clause in there........uh oh.
  20. This must be the first time a Rovers fan has ever said 'Hurrah!' to our owners not being departed or gone.
  21. Crewe would be stupid to accept our structuring a deal right now. If they've done even rudimentary research on us, they'll know our finances are uncertain until things are sorted out in India. If they let us delay payments, they might never see them.
  22. How are you suggesting it could have been handled much worse? All I can think is he could have encouraged a panic about it from the supporters. Perhaps initiated a firesale, but we know he doesn't get to decide that kind of thing anyway. Also I'm not sure that not handling certain situations horrendously qualifies as handling them 'relatively well'. On the second point, keeping us in the Championship and developing young players are two things that don't come under his remit. The manager and, to a lesser extent, GB, are responsible for those. The academy staff to a degree. Not Steve Waggott. He can't really take credit for JDT or GB either really. We hear the DoF thing came from someone in India and that SW really doesn't rate GB, and GB seems primarily responsible for hiring JDT. Swag was bumbling around over a managerial appointment for ages until GB showed up.
  23. That isn't a fact that's out there. The fee was undisclosed, as they annoyingly tend to be. Transfermarkt has it as 1.75 million. Footballtransfers.com has it as 1.8 million. Some sources (Cov Telegraph and Covs Live) do say 2.5 mill though, but the Lancs Telegraph and Lancs Live reported 1.5 million, with the LT explicitly saying it was 'lower than the 2.5 million quoted in the national press'. Incidentally, Brittain was reported at anywhere from 'in excess of 1 million' to 1.5 million, so there might not be much between their fees.
  24. His ability in comparison to them is even lower.
  25. Oh aye, I didn't mean to infer any competence or ability to scrutinise at the door of Venkys. Merely pointing out that he doesn't in reality save them or the club anything, quite the opposite. Regardless of how he presents it or what codswallop they'll swallow.
