  1. First I've heard of it not going to former clubs. Certainly in FM20 it was hardwired into the game as a payment to former clubs. They're not generally wrong with that sort of thing, so unless the rules changed since the 19/20 season... (and if they did that's a hunk of crap IMO, players get enough compo as it is, clubs are the ones bleeding money, partly because of shit regulations that let big clubs poach their youngsters).
  2. Solidarity payments always happen, it's not the same as compensation. We will see a similar benefit from moves Adam Wharton makes. And it's separate to sell on clauses, so we will get the bulk of the 5% if he moves fairly soon. It's also not down to moving within the same country like compensation is, so any future moves Dolan makes for money, ourselves and Preston will see a small slice. I'm not sure how long these rules have been in place but it's at least a few years.
  3. The severity of a foul is not supposed to affect the advantage rule, unless there's a head injury.
  4. He committed enough of a foul, the ref gestured play on. Which means he thought it was a foul but was playing advantage.
  5. Tbf having another look at the replay, I think there was contact from behind on his legs. But no more than we failed to get given when it happened to Ohashi or even Cantwell in the previous two games.
  6. Tavares didn't give the pen. It was Miller (though really it was just the ref).
  7. The poorest decision looked to be by the ref.
  8. And yet we just had someone shoved over on the edge of their box blatantly and got nowt until they followed up with another foul right after.
  9. I can't watch, at work, but I'm struggling to understand how it can be selfish but also he should really score. If he should really score then he should be taking the shot and it can't be selfish.
  10. Travis has been a potential contract rebel and he has been captain until now. Unless they're actively seeking to leave one of them should be captain. Todd absolutely doesn't have the personality for it.
  11. Kargbo starting against one of the strongest teams in the league. I look forward to people writing him off again when he struggles to get through their defence.
  12. Well that's a very strange choice of captain.
  13. I've always been of the impression that Coar's is a token role on the board. Perhaps a way to show there's a bridge between the old and the new, when there isn't. I assume he doesn't do anything really. Maybe appears whenever there's a meeting requiring unanimous consent once a blue moon and nods his head whilst someone passes him a cheque. None of this to undermine your point, quite the opposite. I sense he has no convictions about us at all.
  14. Is this just coming from him not playing today?
  15. Sounds highly plausible. Except for perhaps the us scoring part, and the part where we hold out on conceding another for about 80 minutes. Christ, we're gonna get bummed by Brum aren't we? At home. A freshly promoted club who think they're much bigger than they are, but admittedly have owners with a drive, vision and investment and as such are one of the favourites for promotion.
  16. Tbf there is a difference between 'limiting' questions about individual players, and banning them. The club also said the reason they wanted to do this was to focus on the match, which player availability for definitely related to. And it's not clear from this quote whether he was answering a question or voluntarily providing information. None of this is to say I don't think the decision to refuse to answer questions about Travis and contracts is acceptable, I certainly don't. Just saying they haven't technically gone against their own statement.
  17. Not necessarily. If the thing about him not being eligible because he came off the bench for Bochum is true (I'm sceptical) Miyoshi would still be one we can launch an appeal for. As I've mentioned before, I suspect we would have strong grounds on the following bases: would have qualified comfortably with 19 points a week or so ago and is the same player now, Japanese international in his prime, has experience as a regular in the Bundesliga and Championship, and if he hadn't left Birmingham upon their relegation just over a year ago they would have been able to easily get him a full exemption from needing an ESC slot. Given that even with the reduced points he still has, if I remember rightly, 13 of the required 15 to automatically qualify, I'd be surprised if an appeal wasn't successful.
  18. I can't imagine we are trying to. His name hasn't been linked for quite a while now. His star has faded.
  19. In terms of strikers, yeh probably as we have no plans to bring one in apparently. But if we do bring one in and they're not better than a League Two striker, it was barely worth bothering.
  20. If that's where he ended up, it sounds like we never 'missed out' on him in the first place.
