  1. Feels like the first team would probably lose to a side from the moon right now. And nobody lives there.
  2. History has shown that the fans don't really matter to Venkys. It'll take more than an angry fanbase to get shut of them.
  3. I disagree, I think it would be much worse if the same exact issues had occurred a year after being told they'd be sorted. At least if it's something different, it may have escaped the review. I would guess it's something to do with the added complications of the weird MLS system. I don't think the club has ever bought a player from the MLS before? Nelsen was a free agent. I'm not excusing it btw, we have followed this player for a long time and all the necessary homework about how to deal with that league should have been done. Just saying I don't think it's worse that it's a different problem to last year.
  4. Before everyone runs with this interpretation (as this board frequently does, demonstrated by the 'nice food' myth from last year's saga), this Tweet does NOT say that not all documents were submitted. It may be implying that, it may not, but it doesn't explicitly state that some documents were missing. It's still quite vague. The club need to come out and comment on this, they're simply compounding the problem by staying silent. Especially since they already announced his signing.
  5. Anybody else looking forward to Rory Finneran helping to pay for Venkys' next set of cutbacks?
  6. That's impressive if he even botched up for a goal.
  7. And you don't think the ridiculous working conditions and budget-fuckery from Pune might be impeding the work of such staff here and making them look like bigger chancers than they are?
  8. Nah we cocked up Ethan Brierley too, that wouldn't have been an expensive deal.
  9. 17/1 on Bet 365 for some reason. They must like losing money.
  10. Love the credits, especially 'Confused Person' and 'Snowball Artist'!
  11. Ayari, Moran, Gallagher, Telalovic. As that list shows, playing in the Prem is no guarantee of quality. The Champions League is also definitely one of the elite competitions in Europe, it definitely counts as top level experience. It doesn't matter if somebody came from the Prem if their body isn't up to it anymore, especially if they're not match fit. Danny Murphy and Etuhu had played tons of games in the Prem and they were dogshit in our midfield at this level. Adam Wharton had never played a Prem game but he was worth 18 million.
  12. I'd be very surprised if Fleck is up to speed with any system. He has played 89 minutes all season, and the last of those was on 6th December. He hadn't even sat a bench in a month and a half. Suffered a broken leg for the second time in the summer. Doubt he will play much, or impress much when he does. Don't think you can say he has played at a higher level than anyone else either, unless he has scored in the Champions League in a win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
  13. Yes, now. The half time boos clearly didn't invigorate us...
  14. Agree. I'm not a fan of his but I call it as I see it and he's had a pretty good game. Very harsh he will end up with an OG in the record books for something that wasn't his fault.
  15. Who says I'm not there? (I'm not there! I can't make it because of work) Being a football supporter isn't about reviewing matches. It's not like any other form of entertainment you pay for. There's a reason we're called supporters, not customers (well, Swag probably calls us customers..). I maintain they didn't boo because this particular performance warranted it, it's built up frustration (which is understandable in fairness, it just isn't something I can describe as fair to the players). Fuck, unlucky that for Pears.
  16. QPR got away with one too. Looked like a foul in the box at the start of that counter to me.
  17. The spines in these referees would embarrass a slug.
  18. No, but you can't boo the team at half time every time it's just 'poor'. That should be reserved for the very worst of performances, bereft of effort. Quite frankly it's shit supporting to boo this time IMO.
  19. The 'Irish Foden' is as accurate a comparison as the 'Scottish Rooney'.
  20. Do you mean 'what is JDT being blocked from complaining about?' ?
  21. The one he has seemingly had very little say in the assembling of? The one with its star playmaker sold for a fortune and not replaced? The only thing I'm unhappy with JDT for is the passing at the back shit. I can accept it as a general strategy to draw the opposition in, so I've made my peace with it. But the players absolutely need to be informed to boot it out when they sense danger. We've had a booking, free kick in a dangerous area, and nearly lost one of our two remaining established (at this club) CBs because of it today alone, and its cost us numerous goals this season. There's no risk assessment goes on, we just pass it in tight spaces regardless.
  22. It isn't fair. We've been the worse side but they're hardly battering us 3-0. The boos are because of the frustration at an awful window and a ludicrously mismanaged club - that's not the players' fault at all.
  23. It was Gally. Spun with the ball and hit it immediately, went about 20 yards wide. You're probably thinking of a different effort.
