  1. Let the punishment fit the crime. They've killed us in several games, so...
  2. I didn't say otherwise. I said he wasn't only brought on every fortnight like you suggested. And it's enough games for the Danny Graham of last year to have made more impact.
  3. I'm not 'terrified' of Leeds, I'm just aware of the season they've had and the league table. We just lost 2-0 to Barnsley. 'Eventually' is the key word. You don't start first time youngsters against the best side in your league fixture list. That sort of thing has to be built towards. The likes of Buckley, sure, throw him into a game like this. Not that I massively rate him, more that he has had chances to adjust to professional football now and needs to see what it's like to play the better sides and what is required.
  4. From having watched him and Armstrong this season, yes. He quite clearly hasn't been at the level of previous seasons. His finishing, touch and in particular pace all look clearly on the wane. No shame in that at his age. Still sharp mentally and capable of great link ups, but he is visibly struggling to match previous levels. He may not have played as much (33 league games though, so not only every fortnight), but he just hasn't been anywhere like his usual self when he has played. Can only judge on how he does when he plays. Meanwhile Armstrong is on fire and is the singular reason that after losing Dack we managed to keep dim playoff hopes alive instead of entering a relegation fight. That Plan A stuff doesnt work as well without Dack either. Those two have a great understanding.
  5. As an overall player, he is streets behind Arma at the moment. Football brain or no.
  6. I'm not sure if you understood my post. I know the season is over, I'm saying it won't be good for the youngsters' developments for them to get the absolute run around from Leeds in their first professional game.
  7. I'm aware, I'm saying the execution wasn't right.
  8. Miles behind Armstrong these days. Or did you mean the youth teamers?
  9. He probably won't then either. Didn't last season when we were the first team to mathematically have nothing to play for.
  10. Zero point blooding the youngsters against the top of the table team. They'll be too far out of their depth. After we piss this match away, start blooding them, I'll agree.
  11. Well he was quoting a 'mole', so I don't think it was speculation either. But you can't expect to be taken seriously if you then follow up by saying Mrs M has stopped making drizzle cake. Like I say, very odd post tbh. No offence simongarnerisgod.
  12. That's abysmal. We didn't even get into winning positions against these either. The other damning stat is the one about how infrequently we come back from a goal behind ourselves. Was the Bristol one the first time since Jan 2019 or something like that? Which I seem to remember was itself the first in a while. Makes you wonder how we can give away so many points from winning positions, seldom ever recover from losing positions, and still be near (ish) the playoffs. We must take a lot of leads.
  13. Controversial maybe, but (and without being a medical expert) we should leave Travis out today regardless. If he has aggravated his ligaments, it just isn't worth it to risk him for a game we are extremely likely to lose anyway, in a playoff chase that is probably still doomed even if we did win. I'd hate for him to get a serious ligament injury ruling him out of a chunk of next season. We looked absolutely insipid in central midfield with neither him nor Evans.
  14. The rest of his post suggests it was all just a joke. Just an odd one because the first part doesn't come across like a joke.
  15. And quite a few before. He was very unlucky to have been here at the same time as we were blessed with those two.
  16. Yeh we heard you the first time, then we took the piss.
  17. I just really hope you meant aversion. Or that's a very niche fetish. To each their own though.
  18. Had a look at his 'CV' on Wiki...something wrong with the modern game when this lad has been at Everton until aged 27, and has made 5 appearances for them, including 0 in the last 5 seasons, just being farmed out on loan instead.
  19. I don't think I've seen a quote from Mowbray that sums up his managerial weakness better than the one used for the headline of the LT article today: 'We have to keep believing that what we're doing is right' No Tony, you have to start accepting that certain things you are doing are wrong.
  20. Thanks, I was starting to wonder why he has been released, but if they've all been released there's no real shame in it. Sparks, in light of the fact Preston have released all their scholars with expired contracts, I'm wondering what your take on this is. Because I'm sure you've waxed lyrical about Preston's youth setup a few times. I'm just wondering if they're that good why aren't they bothering to sign any of them onto professional terms? They may not have a u-23 squad but if the lads are talented they could break into the main squad or go out on loan surely. Genuinely curious btw, not goading.
  21. Completely agree with all of that Chaddy, except I'd go one further and say Bennett shouldn't have been on the pitch in the first place and certainly not as LB.
  22. Nothing from the last several years backs that assertion up. And since we are beggars as you say, we don't have money to take the gamble on his form from longer ago returning. There are better keepers somewhere out there for a lot less money. The focus needs to be on finding those.
  23. He was crap on Saturday. He's done well so far today. Abysmal from Samuel there.
  24. William's has had Samuel in his pocket. Left back who was in our academy...would have him starting for us today.
  25. Holtby playing well. Just crossed my mind, will our Walton even prove to be the best goalkeeper on the pitch whose name is Walton today?
