Summer 2021 rebuild at this rate. -
It's not Waggot's money being lost though. It's the club's.

I feel like you didn't read any of what I said. It's irrelevant what the numbers are now, it's about preventing them from becoming what they can become. The Wuhan biolab is very suspicious though. It's understandable conspiracy theories have arisen on it, for more reasons than you state. It was the only biolab in China that handles that level of virus. It's also pretty near to the food market where the virus was claimed to originate. I think I read within a mile or two. One of the theories goes that some of the workers there may have been selling experimented-upon animals illegally to the market for cash on the side. -

It takes a while for someone to die of it in most cases, and there could be misdiagnosed deaths, deaths from other factors that were unknowingly worsened by this virus, etc. The NHS is also in ok shape (just about) to deal with these volumes for now. Survival rates will be lower once they're not. -

You think there should be 100,000 people dead from a virus, with the potential for much worse, before the stock market takes notice and some football games get postponed? You're a much more heartless man than I am then. And don't appear to understand the stock market... Look, this virus is theoretically capable of killing some 60 to 180 million people (80% of the global population infected and a 1 to 3 percent death rate) if allowed to go unchecked. To be clear, that's NOT going to happen, but that's purely because it won't be allowed to go unchecked (and hopefully the summer will slow it, but that's far from certain at this stage). In short, these measures are necessary to reduce the global death toll as much as possible. Looking at what the numbers are now and saying it's nothing is incredibly naive. That's like looking at the figures back in December and saying Wuhan should have done nothing at all because it was an inconsequential numbers of lives. This thing isn't done, not by a long shot. There's no need for panic, the world isn't ending and we will eventually get it under control. We have to actually exercise control to do that though, and reduce the impact as much as possible. What I'm seeing people describing now as panic really isn't (mostly...a few people are undoubtedly going too far). I hope people will remember something when this is all done, but I suspect they won't - if the deaths figure isn't that enormous by the time this runs its course, it will be because of the measures taken, rather than some proof they weren't needed. -

Not really true. I've yet to see it established that you CAN'T die from it unless you have health issues or (you missed this one) old age, just that your chances are far less. You may also have a health issue you're unaware of. But more importantly, just because you can't die from it (if true) is no reason to say there is no danger. If you pick it up, you might be fine but you may transmit it to someone else, who dies. Maybe even someone close to you. That said, I'll be attending on Saturday, with my dad, who is in the vulnerable age group ? -
Looks like it's true about Zimba. On trial at Sunderland. I don't understand this one, when looking at his goals record. Behind the scenes stuff, I suspect. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/sunderland-blackburn-rovers-trial-teenager-17903316.amp

I've done it twice, Everton and Blackpool. The Everton game I was still a kid and my dad warned me, if we score, definitely don't celebrate or even look happy. It was the game where Sutton scored after about 18 seconds. It was really, really hard to contain my joy, but even as a kid I kept shut the fuck up. If grown men can't do it then they sure deserve a pasting. The Blackpool game, well I live here and a friend invited me on her dad's ST when we sold out. Some idiot I knew from work saw me at half time and yelled out 'Hey Bruce, what are you doing in this end?' I could have slapped him. Luckily nobody heard, or cared anyway. You're right, definitely slightly nervy being in the other end. I don't care if people do it at Ewood though as long as they behave like monks. There's always a bunch that don't though. Known as idiots. Now, why the fuckity fuck is this thread pinned?

Derby County (A) - Sunday 8th March [3pm KO]

So...you'd agree we are onto a must win game now? -
We wouldn't get offered any compensation if we didn't offer him a pro, unless he was still in contract at the time. Which from memory I think he was. So probably still on his youth contract and Liverpool couldn't be arsed to wait til it ran out and see whether he got released. But he wasn't released, pretty sure of that part.
-
The goalie? Nah pretty sure he wasn't released, they bought him. Was rumoured to be about half a million. I remember being amazed as they were paying that for him to just be backup in the youth team, more than we have paid for a first team keeper in years.
-
Also weird, for him to be the only one missing out. Has 8 goals in 13 games! Must be either an attitude thing, or contract talks haven't panned out. (Before anyone says, unlikely to be because some other club has a deal lined up, as by not offering him a deal we lose our right to compensation)

Mercer, get off Sparks Rover's account. -
That seems strange. Only 17 still and the Arsenal commentators were jizzing over him. Said he was the type of player that bigger academies would be looking to poach. I know it was only one game but definitely looked worth persevering with for another year or two at least. We don't seem especially flush with strikers at that level. 13 games 5 goals in the league, 4 games 3 goals in the cup, a few appearances for the u23s...doesn't fit the profile of someone we would usually release.

Shelves can go bare just from people buying a bit more than usual, or earlier than usual. Or a handful of loons. They're big items that take up a lot of space, so it stands out more too. Can't find hand sanitiser anywhere, but you don't notice it unless you're looking for some, as it's a much smaller item. But if you've seen people stocking whole trolleys of it, fair enough. Those people are morons. I can understand buying enough to last you a month or so (I don't have a family, so storing that amount for just me is easy) in case there are stocking issues after towns get locked down, but to buy insane amounts of it and forget that you need food in order to shit... -

So those photos of trolleys full of the stuff, not just outliers that found their way into the media? You've seen a fair bit of it yourself? Over here I've only seen people getting one or two packs so far. -

Good point, and content for a point means shutting up shop, something which we frequently fail to overcome. If they come for a win they'll be more expansive and open to getting buttfucked by Arma and Rothwell's pace. -

A few clubs monitoring Tosin. 20 million speculated fee. -
Christ, you've got some memory, remembering the names of up to seven youth team players from 1958 who never made it!! Fair play!

See, you say they're distinctly average, but again, there are only two teams in the league with a better home record, and we are at their place. So again, why are they there for the taking? Being given the runaround by a team that would give pretty much every team in this league the runaround doesn't really answer that. Having 'nothing' to play for didn't stop them beating Sheff Weds 3-1 away last week either. Aside from the two home games against the league leaders, this is theoretically the hardest game we have left. I don't expect a win.
