  1. Magloire played in the 5-2 League Cup win for Rochdale over Bolton. I guess their fans weren't too impressed with their first impression though, as this player rating vote has him down as the worst player on the pitch, including the subs: https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/match-ratings/rating/match:6288 Mind, it also has Jason Lowe down as one of the best players on the pitch, so what do they know eh?
  2. This got me wondering...and turns out whelmed still means you're overwhelmed. Just can't be middle of the road eh? whelm [ hwelm, welm ]SHOW IPA EXAMPLES|WORD ORIGIN verb (used with object) to submerge; engulf. to overcome utterly; overwhelm:whelmed by misfortune. verb (used without object) to roll or surge over something, as in becoming submerged.
  3. Hold on, when is he on record as not valuing the academy? I've only heard him speak well of it. But not necessarily follow through on what he says.
  4. No no, this is something he will only ever say for junior players. The older ones are delicate little flowers who can't be told off.
  5. "My mentality is that if you are not good enough to play against Oldham Athletic at home then you are not good enough to be in the building These young players sometimes need to go away on loan and learn Tosin has picked up a little knock, if both Tosin and Lenihan miss the weekend then we are really thin but i would be pretty hopeful one of them will make it So, to summarise. We are thin at centre back, but we are planning to loan out all of the junior cover there? So if Tosin and Lenihan are out at any stage, the entirety of our centre back options will be Williams and Nyambe? And what if one of them is injured? Not like it's never happened to either... And yet he also had the cheek to use the phrase "We found a way to win so let’s put it behind us very quickly and learn the lessons" Like you learnt your lessons in the last transfer window Tony, where basically this exact thing happened?
  6. Only IF they BOTH miss the weekend though. If one or both of them makes it, we are hunky dory for the season.
  7. When you're not confident in your abilities, everything looks poor. Effort, concentration, touch. I've seen flashes from him, and he's done some decent stuff prior to coming here, but I suspect we'll never found out what kind of player he really is (or at least, could have been). I mean he might just be a bit gash-on-toast, but personally I just think it's mental with him.
  8. "No injuries, Bennett has a knock but he is a warrior. " Aka, "I would play Bennett if his head was hanging off."
  9. I suspect the lad has feeble confidence, which probably means he will never make it as a top player at this level. After a good pre-season he probably expected a proper crack of the whip but was immediately displaced by a new signing. I reckon that's all it took to wobble his self belief. Don't think he will regain it now, and even if he does, he will probably always be susceptible to a crisis of confidence.
  10. Shite. So it'll be Nyambe, Platt or Grayson. With Williams. If only the vulnerability of this area of the pitch to injuries had been apparent through the entirety of the last two windows. Then I'm sure we would have sorted it.
  11. Then he wouldn't have the nous and experience that makes him so effective. He was a different type of player in his youth. But his current brain with his younger body, then you'd be talking.
  12. True. It was the pitiful force against the highly movable object. With both teams counting as each.
  13. Well. League 2 anyway.
  14. I feel like when we sack TM and get a new manager (starting to look inevitable if the Vs have the stomach for it), and he manages to stem the tide and get some results, his interview comments when asked what the secret has been will be along the lines of how it was important to play our specialists in their area of specialisation.
  15. I'll field that. Because our defence is utter womblewank.
  16. We looked that gift horse in the mouth. Hell, we stuck our head in to have a good look at its fucking tonsils.
  17. You think that will be deflating? You should have specified which team you wanted to get the winner...
  18. I'm not sure midfielders in defence and strikers on the wing with 'nobody down the middle' is going to achieve that. Mowbray outwits himself.
  19. First I've heard?
  20. It's 2 shots on target now, dontcha know. "It's just like watching Brazil!"
  21. But they're not. Like I say though, scrape through this (which was my pre-match prediction) and I think we can get a draw v Boro.
  22. I had literally just been thinking Dack is the only way we might get out of this one when I read his name as scorer. Whew!
  23. I've been thinking we would get a point against Boro. If we botch this match up I can't see that happening anymore as confidence on the pitch and in the stands will be too low.
  24. OAFC. They could be OAPFC and we probably still wouldn't score the way things are going.
  25. So that's all subs done by the 65th minute? If we equalise doesn't this go into extra time? Or is it straight to pens?
