  1. It really is (though I think the owners may consider it a convenient excuse). Rule changes always seem to come at the wrong times for us. Like how the Champions League used to only be for Champions. Until pretty much right after we stopped finishing top 4. We would have had another what, 2 CL campaigns if it had been top 4 back then?
  2. Nope. Seen Madon and bbrovers post before anyone else and it come true. Unleaded also named quite a few that went absolutely nowhere, like not even mentioned in the press. But he also came up with real info (years and years ago last I saw).
  3. What I would suggest is ignoring the criticism. Post info on a take it or leave it basis (answering polite questions if able) and ignore anyone who doesn't believe it. It's not your problem whether they do or don't, and you just get embroiled in a pointless circular argument. It's just strangers on the internet after all, and strangers on the internet like to get testy with people in ways they wouldn't in person, due to the internet being impersonal.
  4. He will go for a lot less? His release clause has already been met twice. Sounds like wage negotiations with both those clubs have fallen through though. Maybe during that those clubs have said they'll give him what he wants in the summer when there is no fee to pay too though. Strange game of hardball from Peterborough. They insist his release clause must be met (and have got lucky in a couple of clubs meeting it even though he is free in six months). Yet he absolutely isn't going to play for them again. So they're saying they're willing to throw say, 1.5 million away, which surely would be cheap enough for contract negotiations to prevail if they lowered their price to something like that, even though they won't be using the asset again. Not sure who they expect to believe that. The fact that they've said they don't want to play him again may even have contributed to contract talks failing, as clubs are unlikely to believe that they won't sell cheaper last minute since they don't plan to use him anymore. Personally I suspect we did come in for him, as I thought it was really odd TM said that clubs want 2.5 million or 3 million for players. 2.5 million is a very specific figure, and one I've only heard this window in relation to MM. We probably offered about 1 million and got told which orifice to put it up.
  5. Be really interested if you're trying to provide information here or just speculating.
  6. Yeh maybe. With all the supposed interest in permanent wingers like Curtis and the Polish lad though, I suspect we thought 'we want a good permanent signing on the wing, but we will take this loan as a plaster if that doesn't work out'
  7. It wasn't said that a loan signing was imminent a week ago. The wording used was along the lines of, a deal is set up for if we decide to finalise it. We may have changed our minds since, or be waiting to see how everything else pans out.
  8. Yep, absolutely you can distort the run of form stat in all sorts of ways. I just thought this one was interesting, and a little impressive given it includes our pretty shit recent run before the Wednesday game. It also shows how inconsistent this league is and that all you need is consistency. Still say we need key reinforcements to get enough of that consistency over the remainder of the season.
  9. Absolutely crucial to sign at least two good ones if we want to have any chance of scraping playoffs, yes. My pick would be to get a left back and a goalie. But I'd love to get a CB too, one injury there and we will look very bare indeed. Lenihan is known to get injured. If we got all three plus a good wing prospect like Maddison, Curtis or the Polish lad, I'd give us a very good chance of managing it. Anything short of that and it will take everybody hitting and maintaining form, with some luck on injuries. And the manager not sabotaging us. And no, I don't remotely expect us to sign all of those.
  10. Because he has only been manager at the puny Solhill Moors, had easily the greatest years of his career here, and we will probably have two new keepers by summer, plus two promising youth ones? Plus, better money I expect.
  11. Wow, just seen a Facebook post showing the form table for the last 12 matches. Dunno if it is accurate, but it has us top of the league for those 12 games!! Incredible when you think the Sheff Weds game was, if I recall, one that gave us only one win out of seven games. Oh to have not thrown away those cheap points...
  12. Yeh weird decision. No way would I see my winger roasting Bell and say to him 'Hey, you know what, why don't you switch that over and go take on that fucking beast Nyambe on the other side?' Madness.
  13. Ah that makes more sense, he just used the wrong forename then. Not sure what we would benefit from an 18 year old CM (by the look of it). Sure he will fit in better at Sunderland for now.
  14. Sorry mate I'm confused here. Thought we were on about Joe Garner, the striker, who came through our youth team? Are we on about a different Joe Garner, or has he started playing DM now?
  15. I've edited the post you quoted, if you take another look that may resolve it in your head.
  16. Even less PL than the original poster said then. Would still be a good player in League One I expect.
  17. No mate. Sold, to Brentford. Then sold on to Sheff U. Not released. Never played a game for Bury in his life. Not sure why you're trying to correct me before looking it up. Memory is unreliable pal. You may be thinking of a different player? John O'Sullivan was loaned to Bury, later released by us, currently plying his trade at Morecambe but never kicked a football for Sheff U. You might be confusing the two? We received a bid for him at the same time as O'Connell, for about the same 500k fee. Bizarrely (not with hindsight, I said the same at the time) we rejected the O'Sullivan offer and sold O'Connell. Shoulda done it the other way.
  18. Another site also getting it wrong doesn't change my view. Like I say, I didn't see all of it, but I saw Bell botch up enough to still be highly concerned by him. Sofascore gave Nyambe the same score as Walton, Gallagher and Holtby, that's why I mentioned those three. They had him as joint worst with 3 others, so including himself, his score was in the lowest third or so of the team. Thought he had another great game.
  19. I missed a few chunks of the game but I saw Bell fuck up royally on at least three occasions. Nyambe meanwhile, was rampant.
  20. Joe Garner plays for Wigan.
  21. I feel like sofascore either didn't see Nyambe play, or every time Bell did something shit they thought it was Nyambe. Miles off on his score. A machine again. Anyone who thinks he scored the same as Gallagher, Walton and even Holtby tonight doesn't even know what a football is.
  22. Really? 5 degrees according to google.
  23. This comment has completely confused me. Has something happened to the river?
  24. Yes. The only poor player we have on the pitch. Gave them a corner when the ball was going out of play. Sent a cross flying into no man's land. Sloppily let them through one time without committing a challenge. Dog shit. Desperately need a new LB. Still.
