  1. Side note, as soon as Cunningham took that knock in the game I said take him off. It looked immediately worrying and I know how crap we are at LB without him. Instead we tried to have him play on for a few minutes, which can only have worsened it.
  2. The kind of injury he has picked up, at this stage of his career...as good as he's been for us, I'd be wary of signing him permanently now.
  3. From the LT: A first goal in Rovers colours for Lewis Holtby wasn’t enough to inspire his side to a home win Inspire a win? Hell, it wasn't even enough to keep him on the pitch! Even with an assist and being excellent throughout.
  4. I think it was Millwall last season? In January. Last one I recall anyway.
  5. Yep, got bored of listing them all so didn't even mention those! We didn't have them available before the recent injury crisis anyway. This whole defence thing has been mismanaged beyond belief!
  6. Doesn't really matter at this point. But Holtby kept himself in good nick. He'll play them if we are all out of defenders.
  7. Tbf, it would probably take both of them on the left just to nullify me. Wouldn't let yourself get too excited about him on that basis.
  8. Our defence is fucked. Cunningham out all season (still might hang around for some reason, I assume we paid a loan fee and are therefore committed to the full season loan and wages so he might as well stay here since the lads love him so much...). Lenihan for 8 weeks. Hart out. Grayson out for a couple of months or so. Bennett a game from suspension. Williams and Tosin are injury prone. Right down to the bare bones, and we were shit at the back before any of this happened. We absolutely need to be scouring the free agent market for a CB, now.
  9. Since they've promoted his mate, I reckon that didn't happen.
  10. In fairness, I reckon the left-back from the 2017/18 League One Team of the Season is probably an adequate League One level left back. He sure as shit isn't a Championship-level one though!!
  11. Was 500k or 750k I think. I forget which.
  12. Which isn't going to happen, haven't you been paying attention? And now one of those best players is injured long term, with his replacement about as useful as having a tongue on your arse crack. (A tongue of your own I mean)
  13. Horrendous news. That's our season effectively over. Anybody still harbouring delusions of top 6 must see that. No chance whilst that left flank is held up by anyone other than Cunningham.
  14. He had some kind of disease or condition affecting his foot or something, which only came out years later, if I'm remembering right.
  15. The Venkys tombola will only kick in once they dispense with the Mowbray tombola, but their tombola can result in guaranteed relegation, whereas his results in mid table mediocrity. Not saying I don't want rid. Just very worried about what comes next if we do.
  16. I'm very wary of this idea, which keeps being trotted out. For me, we are a pretty big club and I'd ALWAYS want someone who has prior first team gaffer experience in charge. People can get their initial experiences lower down the leagues. Not to say it can't work. I had similar reservations about Hughes. But more often it turns out more like a Shearer situation. Then again I agree with the poster who said they'd be worried about the Venkys tombola.
  17. Not sure either of us should disagree with the other too hard on this. It's kinda like comparing dog shit and cat shit.
  18. God knows why you wouldn't start him.
  19. Entirely expect to get spanked in this one. Don't think Preston are all that, but they're in great form and we're in piss poor form. Actually be happy if we get a draw (depending on the circumstances...)
  20. That would be entirely the wrong move unless Tosin is a distinct upgrade on Del at CB, because Del isn't any better than Bell at LB. Both very poor there. I'd generally say Del is worse in fact. Although Bell was atrocious on Saturday.
  21. Very good question, as far as I've seen the club has been completely silent on it. It was clear how much worse our defence got when Bell replaced him.
  22. I reckon 3 goals in 4 games does justify his place for now, yes. I know he can be frustrating with his end product, but most of our players don't get to those sorts of positions to be squandering an end product in the first place. He's inconsistent but that pace is always a potential threat. And he's not lazy, sick of hearing that. Not a perfect player by any means, or our best, but I really don't see why he is getting so much flak. Especially during a goalscoring run. There are so many more appropriate scapegoats who should be getting it in the neck instead. Agree a Souness type would be good, not Souness himself though anymore.
  23. I think the amount of bodies and limited room in the QPR box when we attack, versus the acres of space and handful of players defending when they attack us, tells the whole story. And it's not just in this game.
  24. At least Tosin will make us dominant in the air..oh wait.
