Oh please get a grip their catchment area is massive compared to ours bloody Stockton on the doorstep is the size of Burnley ffs.
Do they have 3 clubs on their doorstep competing from the same surrounding areas ?
Shut up !
I’ll ask the question again why are their prices a lot more then, and DONT tell me to shut up, everyone has a shout, not just you.
I agree our tickets should be cheaper, but everyone only comparing us to PNE etc but if we got charged Boro’s prices there’d be no one down at Ewood.

They are THE club in Teesside, 400,000 population, Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar, Billingham, Yarm, Thornaby all Boro fans. Plus good support in other parts of County Durham and North Yorkshire.
Indeed there’s only *three* league clubs between Scotland and North Yorkshire.
Not remotely comparable to what we have to deal with in this area, I.è a dozen league clubs in a forty mile radius.
So why does that entitle Boro to have season tickets at the price they are, you’d think they would be cheaper.

Middlesbrough similar to Blackburn a tad larger, pretty deprived area but get excellent gates and their season tickets are a lot more than ours…

Great milestone to reach 5000 league games, done well to get many ex players ( legends) to say a few words, regardless of our ups and downs ex players really did enjoy themselves at Rovers.

Think last time scored 8 was West Ham again early ‘60s around 1962/3 .. and that was away.

Now 2-2 after we took a 2-1 lead. Their equaliser was a direct result of over playing at the back.
It was, but we are playing some good stuff, enjoyable game.

I beg to differ Parson, the pitch wasn’t that bad.
We got a penalty at the Darwen End if my memory serves me well. Coddington, who to my knowledge had never taken a penalty for us before put the ball on the spot and set off walking back to begin his run up to the ball. He must have gone about 20 yards at least. I’ve never seen any other player go back half as far ! He ran up like Jimmy Anderson and then gently side footed the ball straight into the keepers arms. The keeper never moved.
Unbelievably the ref said “ take it again “. Why, I don’t know. So back goes Coddington to his original mark. Runs in like Jimmy Anderson again, and gently side foots the ball straight at the keeper again ! If I hadn’t have seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it.
Later on in the second half the ref gave us another pen. This one was dispatched easily by either Mike Ferguson or Eamon Rogers, I can’t remember which one. We eventually won 2-1.
John was an old fashioned centre half brought in to bring some height to the back four after we’d been playing Ronnie Clayton and George Sharples in there, neither of those were really centre halves. He was a no nonsense guy whose strengths were in defending. How he’d have gone on “ playing it out from the back “ I shudder to think.
Thanks for the memories John, especially that never to be forgotten penalty.
Scored quite a few penalties for Huddersfield did Coddington, with his long run up, it was Rogers who scored another pen in same match against Palace but think the pitch was a bit of a quagmire.

Not sure who that leaves for tomorrow. Pears, the Whartons, Buckley, Pickering if fit, barely anything else.
Bar Pickering if he is back to fitness, that team I think will start on the first day if we don't get any other injuries.
And Markanday

In general the Fanzone needs more offerings food wise than just curry.
Pizza, Chicken stalls maybe?
Sweets, Popcorn etc are just some other ideas but accept cash so kids can actually take their pocket money along! It's a particular pain when you take your child's friends and their parents send them with cash.
Looks like the booze supplier has changed... went in Blues today and the draught beers have all been changed. Wonder if that will be the same in the fan zone / concourse.
Changed to what?

Our match day prices are fairly middle of the road, no real issue there. It’s STs where we are falling down as reflected by our sales that are I believe are only in front of Rotherham in the whole division.
Whereas haven’t they always had daft matchday prices at Hillsborough? Sure I remember paying over £30 for a night game there in the Bowyer/Lambert era (and lets face it we are never a Cat A opposition, well we are, but not priced as such!).Yeah Sheffield and Leeds always have silly prices.

Waggott is on record as saying the owners won’t have a gambling sponsor on moral grounds. (He was about 10 feet away from me when he said that). But, they’ve no problem with a vaping firm. I can see both sides of the argument re vaping tbh, so I’m not touching that one. I don’t know how much we’re getting from the sponsorship, but I can understand concerns from people about it being lazy on Waggott’s part, given how local they are. After all, we’ve taken the easy route with the catering by outsourcing it. So who’s to say we have or haven’t done the same with Totally Wicked?
As long as they’re paying the same as (or even more than) other sponsors would be, I’m not bothered really. I’d hate to see us lose out on more sponsorship money, just because someone at the club was feeling lazy.
Yeah pretty well agree with that, and like you the main problem is the logo, but if they think it’s the best deal, without going down the gambling route,so be it. Love to know how much the deal is..

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't complain about Crown Paints because they aren't a vaping company.
Like Gambling, having a Vaping Company on the front of the shirt just feels morally wrong. That is my issue with it. It also doesn't help that the Totally Wicked logo is absolutely terrible.
I wasn't a fan of last seasons home shirt so I decided to pass on it anyway, but if this season's is decent the I'll be looking at getting the women's team version providing they have a different sponsor, as they had Watson Ramsbottom Solicitors on the front last year.
Another misstep on the commercial side of things to go alongside the ridiculously expensive season ticket prices.
So what about the booze sponsors, all the betting companies, did you complain then or is it just the usual gripe re the present owners/ management.

So next season in EFL no more towels to dry ball, sensible decision, also back to multi balls
dotted round the ground, let’s see who use gamesmanship like Luton away did a couple of seasons ago.

So if Rovers had a big catchment area and had bigger gates, no one on here would mind Waggot upping the prices, rubbish, be another meltdown on here as usual.
