  1. New contract for Tugs and let Mokoena go in my opinion...
  2. He has been woefull all season, everyone see's it, the media see's it and his off field antics dont help either. Ok ok were not meant to judge a footballer by what happens off field... but seriously, how many goals have we lost because of him and the bargain basement buy from PSV this season. Ooijer...! Ok people who know me on here will know that Gamst is one of my favourate players and i always back him up... usually. Him along with Ooijer, Gray, Benni, Nonda, Roberts (till he got injured) have not been doing the job for us this season! Also the axe just isnt a good enough replacement for either Savage or Tugay when there injured and he is certainly not in anyway a make shift defender. He is a good player to replace Tugay or Savage with when there is 10 - 15 mins left of a match tops! Also id like to say that the combination of Savage and Tugay has worked a few times this season, but the paring just isnt as threatening as needed. Although having said that i wouldnt like to bump into them in a dark alleyway during the night. We need a new start, with a nice young midfield in my opinion. If you dont agree then constructively disagree, im fed up of having my say and then being insulted... Edit: I would also like to mention that we cant always blame the referee for conceeding goals. Ok so it shouldnt have been a penalty yesterday, but we cant rely on the back four to be defending for the majority of the match, the midfield need to keep the ball infront of the halfway line for longer and Benni and Nonda need to be more controlling and sharp with the ball...
  3. With the exceptions of David Bentley, Brett Emerton, Brad Friedel and on occasion Zurab I think our squad has been made to look very ordinary and thin this season. If we loose any of the players just mentioned in the next year i feel we will be in big trouble...
  4. I just wondered what everyones chosen Rovers line up would be allowing for form and current team fitness obviously excluding players who have long term injuries. I would also like peoples opinions on youth/reserve players who people think should be given more of a chance. I know allot of you have been wanting to see more of our youth players to be given a chance and several players lacking in form to be removed from the squad (not naming names). To save on critisisms i will leave my squad choice until some people have put down there ideas... Enjoy!
  5. This is the thing that bothers me. No we dont see what MH's has but if he keeps picking Gray ahead if our youngsters, were gonna end up consistantly wasting performances were going to loose in anyway because of the rubbish thats clogging up our left side of midfield atm. I say give the youth a chance, i mean looking at Taylor. Id say he has earned his chance as much as Gray or McEveley. One thing i would say about Gray and Neil when they play on the left is they have a habbit of playing the ball to Savage as apposed to Gamst, and i think this might be part of why his form has dipped. What it comes down to in my opinion, is Mark Hughes maybe not spending money that wisely in the summer (as were yet waiting for results from summer signings) and we have blatent gaps forming in defence / midfield. Ok ok i know this is because of injuries but part of being a premier league manager is having back up plans, and playing the axe in midfield or defence when your lacking in fit players is not the answer... I think Mark Hughes has got some serious work and thinking to do between now and the end of the next transfer window as what we have at the moment obviously isnt cutting the mustard!
  6. Stu your obviously not satisfied unless your correcting someone all the time are you?? Sad really... Prediction: Mark Hughes at the end of the match will say we played well, however the penalty changed the whole match, if that had not have happened who knows how the game would have progressed... Simple fact is, were lacking in at least 2 defenders and 1 solid midfielder and they need to be purchased ASAP...
  7. Quick question, surely if one of our players handled the ball in our own penalty area and intentionally obstructed the ball. Its a red card... See, this is the thing i dont get nowadays... I dont think even the referies know the rules... I mean if games are going to be decided by poor decisions like this then why dont they start our games giving the oposition a 1 goal head start?!
  8. Who do you play instead of him with Emerton also missing???
  9. I did the tutorial... The games pants and Fifa is better. Fact! I have never lost a game on Fifa, with Pro Evo 6 iha such a huge gap between difficulties. Id recomend Fifa 07 from now on...
  10. Thoughts on Pro Evo 6 - PS2 game: Just spent the night before last playing Pro Evo 6, and have to say i wasnt impressed. The game structure e.g. league season is poor at best and it doesnt even have the real team names for half the premier league. Most the stadiums in the premier league are missing, so for the little time i played a league season i had to play Blackburn Rovers at fracking Highbury. Shooting is woeful as going through on goal and then shooting you would be lucky to hit a barn door. Taking the ball off a opposition player either results in being yellow/red carded (if press sliding tackle) and if you press the 'nudge player off ball' button it takes about 3 minutes real time in a 10 minute a half game to get the ball of a player, by which time the player has usually stormed through on goal and scored with impeckable accuracy. The players faces and graphics are nowhere near the quality of Fifa and in my opinion after playing it, Fifa blows Pro Evo out the water! The one redeaming feature that Pro Evo has is ball handling however it isnt that terrbly behind Fifa in that department. The only thing that stopped me from taking the game disk out of the PS2 and smashing it against the wall was the thought of a refund!! I would like to say this is just my opinion on the game... Chalk one up for Fifa in my opinion...!
  11. Isnt Gamst naturally right footed and used to play on the right of midfield in Norway, then he switched to left foot left midfield as there was a shortage of home grown left footers..? Could put Gamst on right, Bentley inside center and Peter replace Gamst on left midfield??
  12. Or possibly Brett back in midfield?? If we move Lucas into midfield that means Gray back in defence... Terrorfying though!!
  13. According to SkySports our teams midfield problems have been given another blow with the news that Robbie Savage is going to be possibly missing for the next month: With Mokoena's uninspiring form on the pitch last night im just wondering what other options we have. There are 2 others that might work: Either, Peter (lft mdf) Gamst (lft ctr mdf) Tugs (rgt ctr mdf) Bentley (rgt mdf) or Gamst (lft mdf) Tugs (lft ctr mdf) Bentley (rgh ctr mdf) Gally (rgt mdf) Id go with the first one personally...
  14. Reason i said he was similar to hefty heskey is because in most the games this season he has been playing the majority of the match as more of a forward playing slightly behind where he should be. I remember several people commenting at the start of the season that he was playing so far behind where he should that he might as well be a midfielder... Im just thinking if we have him playing slightly behind Jeffers he will have a little bit more room to do his stuff... our priority for the transfer window should be an attacking midfielder who can feed balls through to the front 2... Now with the severe blow of Savage being out for a month, the question is do we play Mokoena in central midfield. Id say play Gamst center left with Peter on left midfield with Tuggs in right center, although i know that would never happen...
  15. According to most people on this board he had a very good second half yesterday??
  16. --> QUOTE(Ste B @ Nov 3 2006, 02:29 ) 457185[/snapback] In my opinion you are a clueless idiot. If you would have to compare him to anybody it would be Dwight Yorke, but when he was good (ie at Villa). Doesnt for me do a lot of work off the ball, but can link up play with a sublime bit of skill, and is around the box to finish. Heskey on the other hand is a big lummox you stick up front to use as a battering ram, and should be compared to perhaps Roberts or Nonda from our team. Yes i have seen him play a full 90 vs Wisla... And your the idiot for getting personal when somebody has there say, your obviously one of those morans who likes to get personal when you disagree with someones point of view which is pretty sad... I mean you yourself said: Ok so take out the sublime skill and you got a discription of Heskey... Back at earlier clubs Benni used to feed off of other strikers attempts and used to pop in the occasional good goal... Heskey does the same (erm vs Rovers).
  17. I was just thinking about this defensive matter, and then suddenly something occured to me. Whenever Neill plays on the left of defence Gamst has poor matches, however when Gray plays Gamst's performances are much improved. Does anyone have any idea why this is?? Im just thinking that maybe its time to let Neill go and sign a decent out and out left back to replace Gray who has played woefully this season. We could also do with a decent new midfielder as we seem to be falling short big time in the midfield department, due to injuries...
  18. In my opinion, he's very similar in style and performance as Emile Heskey... Bare with me one second while i explain... I think he is one of those players who likes to be a number 2 striker and have a world class striker to play alongside... Im not kidding, i think (and i know allot of other people have said this) that if we had been able to keep hold of Craig Bellamy last summer and we had Bellamy and Benni up front, we'd be a force to be reconed with. Im sorry to say that Benni and Roberts dont look even 75% convinsing, although Gally and Jeffers have shown some true promise.. My brother mentioned today that we were being linked with a young C.Republic striker on teletext. Has anyone else heard of this and who it could be?
  19. Has to be said, this time last year, if someone had said that we'd miss Emerton in defence id have laughed at them. Especially if they said Neil should be on the left...
  20. Thigh strain according to SkySports, shouldnt be out for long me thinks...
  21. Thats even worse!!!! We paid hard cash for JR and BM!!! Jeffers, your taking pens from now on!!!
  22. Funny isnt it: Nonda = Penalty.... miss Benni = Penalty.... miss Neil = Penalty..... miss JEFFERS?!?!?! = Penalty..... SCORE!!! How does that make sense?!?!
  23. Id say maybe have a new stadium / sports center in a slightly better area... No offence to the people that live near Ewood... I mean something needs to change to improve attendences...
  24. Yeah well its my choice isnt it cheers. If you dont like fifa dont b*tch about it to people who do, its sad...
