I am staying in Dublin on Saturday and Sunday night, looking forward to a session on Saturday night. The Mrs will be with me so I will be on my best behaviour -
tcj_jones, I can only apologies if you found me 'intolerant and offensive', I can only assume I was having an off day. I always try to be fair and only delete or edit posts where I feel it is necessary. Granted sometimes I lose my rag (don't we all). Anyway, I hope you accept my apology, I'll make sure I buy you a pint if I meet you at ewood. I'm sure the people who have met me off the site will (hopefully) back me up, I'm not that bad really (come on guys, throw me a frickin bone here!!!!!)

Yordi Cruyff is also training with them at the moment

I still await Jims apology for his comments towards the England Fans. Not sure if journalists do apologise if they get something completely wrong. They normally just publish their usual crap and don't seem to care when it is proved to be completely incorrect.

Sky showed 2 games more or less most Saturdays last season. Personally I enjoyed the away games when we could get to the pub for 12 watch a match, then watch the Rovers and then back in to watch another match. It's all personal choice but the facts are that Rovers make more money from being on Sky than they lose from the fans that stay away. I don't think Sky showed 2 Prem games on a saturday hardly at all last season. There were a few Midday kick offs and that was about it. I think there may have been a couple of 5.00 pm kick offs toward the end of the season. They didn't show 2 Prem games on a Saturday often though.

I land in Dublin at 8.55, time to get to the Fitzwilliam and unpack, then have a quick powernap, then out for the duration. Not sure what the Mrs is going to think about the whole experience. -

Looking forward to meeting a few more people off here. I have got everything booked up now. Anyone know what time the last train back from Bray was last year. -

I've decided to travel Chesh style and I've booked into the 5* Fitzwilliam hotel for 2 nights. Got flights from Birmingham for £57, fly out 8.00 am on Saturday and return at midday on the Monday. Got a good deal on the hotel, it works out at £55 a night each for me and the Mrs. Looking forward to it, I was gutted I couldn't go last year so hopefully this will make up for it. I'm sure we'll all sort out where to meet up a bit nearer the time. -

Ha ha, thats gotta be up there with Lofty's mate who changes the bulbs in the floodlights. Mourinho and Benitez are the two managers involved in the deal, I'm sure they would be off telling other premiership managers about it wouldn't they. There is no deal in place as Liverpool are hoping to convince Gerrard that his future is at Anfield. Told you so!!! -

Another member with crap contacts then.... Your respectable Premiership Manager obviously knows naff all. It really bugs me when people come on here telling people they have all of these various sources when they are really just making things up. If you don't know what I am talking about then you (and your Premiership Manager) obviously weren't at Anfield when Gerrard commited his future to the club today. -
Welcome back Orcan, I guess you enjoyed your European campaign as it lasted considerably longer than ours. Did Gencler qualify for Europe again this season, If so maybe we will see you in England again soon. I've been looking out for a Gencler shirt (I have one that I swapped with a rovers shirt after the Friendly at Brockhall), but I was after the proper adidas one. Any links where I could get one.

So the longest serving mod on the site doesn't get a mention in the poll above, whats the world coming too. Bloody Legion's managed to get his name on there twice too

An England fan was stabbed to death in Lisbon last night, a croatian man has been arrested. It's a good job all other teams fans are as good as gold and only the English have a hooligan element eh Jim. Still it was probably the the fault of the English fans for celebrating wasn't it Jim.
-
Oh dear, the blueboy beered up post resurfaces. It'll look clearer this morning mate
-
These two statements seem very different Jim, surely 0.01 percent of England fans couldn't terrorise half of Portugal.
-
Absolutely spot on. The trouble that has been reported is similar to trouble you see in every holiday resort, I'm not condoning it but it is a fact that there is trouble in the Algarve with British Holiday makers every year. We should be focusing on that and not trying to link it to the football. I'm suprised nobody has picked up on the massive problems in Birmingham and London after the France defeat. There were fights over here too, I suppose that was all down to the fans over in Lisbon as well was it!!!!.
-
I have just returned from Portugal and would like to put Jims comments into perspective. The England fans have NOT terrorised half of Portugal, none of the reported trouble has been anywhere near the towns England are playing in. I have spent the last week in Lourinha, Lisbon, Leira, Marquiteira, Peniche, Areie De branca to name a few. The locals have welcomed us, the opposing teams fans have also been keen to have a kick around or play volleyball. I have seen absolutely no trouble at all. The problems have all been in the Algarve (the other end of the country to where England are playing). There have been reports of heavy handed policing which never helps in these incidents. You come out of a bar at 1.30 am and have police on horseback, police with riot gear and dogs. It only takes one idiot to say something and it all kicks off. The real England supporters should not all be painted with the same brush. I have met some amazing people over the last week, some have followed England to every game for the last 10 years or so. They have also highlighted the press' misconception of the typical England fan. I'm sure you would have been keen to report the kick about between england fans and swiss fans in Coimbra, or the english and French fans sharing a drink in Lisbon but it doesn't sell papers does it Jim, you stick to your view that all England fans are Hooligans and keep reporting it in the papers, thats what people want to hear and the press love to write.
