[Archived] reviews for boro' games.

I'd prefer the cup win , pray for a tie against Wigan - and win a pint of Nayef . Treble whammy -
Concensus politics , Philip - you , Blair and the new boy Cameron are all as detached as each other from the reality of the danger of drugs and haven't the balls to confront the problem head on , preferring to roll over and accept another lowering of society's standards . Another thing you've got in common with Blair/Cameron- all ex public school boys protected by money from the problems you pretend to have an answer to . You haven't a clue .

I always had the same opinion of Gallagher and maybe at the time that he left he had got into the wrong lifesyle - according to local rumours . If he's now on the right track then Hughes should bring him back . Surely he could push his way past Jansen and Bentley and make the bench at least .... in fact I'd prefer him to Dickov . -
Good post Euro Fan........ Thanks to the services of some dodgy foreign channel I managed to watch the game in the pub and agree with those who argue that Pederson and Bentley simply aren't offering enough in hard fought games like this . Thompson hasn't impressed me as yet since his latest comeback but I am hopeful that he will be more of an asset in games such as this in time . I'd always have Tugay in the team but he still plays too deep for my liking - just as well Mokeono wasn't playing or the'd bump into each other . As for the defence , it was woeful at times - the second goal would have shamed a pub team . I'll be glad when Nelsen is back and would not be upset if Todd were to be left on the bench . Lucas Neill's behaviour borders on the psychopathic at times - twice yesterday he was lucky not to walk and don't be surprised if future refs don't give him the benefit of any doubts . Dickov is as bad at times and our reputation continues to suffer .

Makes you wonder why these "class acts" (who operate with the substantial aid of a trust fund let's not forget ) haven't been head hunted ....? Perhaps BRISA could suggest that the pittance they earn be suitably elevated - provided , of course , that our attendances rise accordingly . Maybe the reverse could be in order if attendances continue to slide . -

I'll have to go against my mate AESF on this one . The draw may well have been boring and longwinded but there can't be many who wouldn't prefer a group with representatives from all over the world in it . This represents a bit of variety and a true test against the differing "flavours" of footballing - who wouldn't prefer to watch Norway (for eg) v Togo rather than against Denmark ? Yes , EUFA are being biased towards the emerging teams but in the interests of entertainment and the long term future of the game , in this case (only !) positive discrimination is acceptable ..... -
[Archived] Glazer Set For Utd
blue phil replied to ainscough99's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
It's pointless the Glazers sacking Ferguson at this point - he's as good if not better than anyone on the European scene and will be up to the job of keeping UTD in the Champs league spot if nothing else . That is now their new level whether the fans are realistic enough to accept it or not . Can anyone think of a manager who could replace Fergy , challenge Chelsea and the cream of Europe whilst working within the financial restraints - and keep the glory hunting fans happy in the transition period necessary to complete such a massive task ..? I can think of only one manager capable of that .......but unfortunately Cloughie is dead ! -

Well worth it considering we've two points more than Villa Walkers out !!! -
I've just seen Gazza interviewed on the news (last night at a function I believe) , looking tired and emotional as our jim might say . Looks like the Priory may be receiving another guest very shortly .....very bad news indeed for Gazza .

[Archived] Come Back Dunny
blue phil replied to Uddersfelt Blue's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
If we actually paid anything approaching that at the moment we'd be stupid considering the amount of games he plays . If he played every game well to the end of this season then £2 million tops might just be in order . Personally I'll never be convinced by Dunn - he's had his chances and made nothing of them . Anyone who thinks his re-signing would add anything to the attendance is badly misjudging the mood of todays' floating footy fans . -
[Archived] Rovers 0-2 Everton
blue phil replied to 1864roverite's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Disagree slightly . Thompson had to come off , he was absolutely hopeless yesterday . His positional sense had to be seen to be believed ; he wreaked havoc with any systemic strategy we were supposed to be using by failing to stick to the right of midfield and when he did get the ball he invariably chose the wrong option . I hope for his sake that Sven wasn't watching..... Kuqi should have replaced Bentley at half time IMO - the latter had another ineffectual game . I think the ref touched the ball more .... -
Well I bet the number of Aussies smuggling in Singapore goes down in the next couple of years if this scumbag is put down . BTW - Why do say it hasn't worked in Thailand ; have they tried a "before" and "after" policy to the death penalty ...?
-
C'mon BRFC4EVA admit it . Flopsy wrote that reply for you ....
-
If he were to go to Everton it would be a short term panic measure by Moyes in order to boost morale . As joey says , he's at the end of his career ; whats the point in a prem club wasting big money on him ?
-
I wonder if it'll deter any other would be smugglers going to Singapore ...? Id say it probably might just do

That's true . It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if I never saw his name on the teamsheet again . All running , all effort but very little in the way of productive value and that's before you take into account his embarrassing antics which cost us a yellow card every game . All in all , we should have left him at Brum and saved a few million . -
Yes I seem to remember that . Best didn't really do anything except for one moment when he flicked the ball up and volleyed against the bar . At least that's what I remember .
