Off topic, but Sheffield Wednesday chairman just released this fairly explosive statement about club ownership.

We may not be a million miles from something similar, but I hope not. 🙏🙏

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has released an explosive statement this morning.

He's said: "We all love Sheffield Wednesday and I am a supporter as well as the owner who must love and care for the club more than anyone else because of the position I am in as chairman. I must take responsibility for everything at the club, including the financial support which is something I always do. But from now, I will not put additional money into the club.

"If you say you are the owner and I am the custodian, then show me how to be the good owner and help save your club. You want me to leave but you want me to spend money? If you want me to leave, then show me how to run the club and invest the money before I do that.

"You have no right to ask me to leave. I am the one who saved the club and spent the money for the club, I am the one who needs to pay around £2million on average every month. Some fans need to have more respect for owners of clubs and not be so selfish, thinking of their own benefit without doing anything good to the club.

"This is not acceptable and as a result I am not willing to inject more money while I am being treated unfairly by those fans."

The Owls have a must-win game against Sunderland this evening. 😬

  2. Sadly I’ll miss this one as I’m off to Ibrox to watch Rangers.

Leicester are the best side in this league by a country mile, it should be a cake walk to the title. The misfiring Jamie Vardy is reportedly on over £100k a week, which really does put things into perspective and shows how tough it is for Championship clubs to compete with Premiership cash.

    Rovers 1 Leicester 1 (I hope)

There is no debate about Dolan ; He is not good enough.

He was outstanding against Premiership Leicester last season, best player on the pitch, but he’s been poor so far this season, no arguments on that one.

JDT keeps picking him, which tells its own story, I’d like him to stay, but his agent may have other plans.

    We're losing the battle aren't we?😟

We lost the battle under king rat when the traditional hardcore decide it was more important to support the team, than to try and change the regime.

It was left to a small band of warriors to fight the battle, whilst the rest sat and did nothing.

Sadly it was only going to end one way, £200m+ in debt and heading one way.

I'm not saying Wharton is a bad player, just that he shouldn't escape criticism, which he is for the most part. He used to skip round challenges and be calm on the ball, never giving it away. Lately he will cost us more goals than he will assist.

I've been saying for 18 months that I don't think he's ready for a full season in the Championship, he's not got the fitness levels or strength from what I can see. The country went wild after that away performance at Blackpool live on Sky and whilst he's shown flashes of that night in more recent times, he's a long way from the finished article for me.

He's still a bit part player in my eyes being rushed, due to lack of options.

The players at the very top are there primarily because they can make instant decisions at pace under pressure and get them right 99% of the time. It’s no good being skilful on the ball etc if your decision making is crap.

However some blames lies with the coaching staff. The top managers drill into their players how to deal with certain situations that they will encounter in a game over and over and over again. Do we do that ?

You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear Tyrone, I'm sure all concerned are doing the best they can with limited resources.

JDT is potentially the best manager we've had in over a decade, but he's not a miracle worker and is operating with one hand tied behind his back as so many before him.

Tbf Watford dominated us as well, they just had a Rovers in front of goal.

I think you called us spineless away from home DE, that is simply not true, but that doesn't take away from the fact we are not winning games and things must change.

Are we now The Championship entertainers? JDT seeing no other option than to play open expansive football home and away because he has no other option?

Waggot and con shoulder the blame for their ineffectiveness as owners and senior management. What an ability shit show on the pitch. No recognised striker is going to seriously cost us. We are looking down the barrel of being cemented in the bottom 6 until Xmas and then it’s too late. I would expect by then JDT will have left the sinking ship leaving us with a serious issue. Waggot needs to think outside box and be inventive to right this rudderless club.

    Have you told him?
    What did he say?

Our away support has always been good. Mainly because of our southern fan base…It’s our home which has always been poor IMO.

I’ve been to Ipswich with less than 200 Rovers fans on the away end and on another occasion over 2000 packed in.

Right now we have outstanding away support considering the appalling tenure under these owners, our home support will increase if the side starts to pull up trees, it’s always been that way.

I wouldn't say JRC is a shit player, but for the last couple of season even when he has played for the U23s he has not stood out, unlike say, Adam Wharton, Phillips and batty.

He certainly stood out for the first team and was outstanding for large parts of last season.

His performance against Huddersfield away was one of the best individual performances I've seen from a Rovers player in years.

The sooner we read the truth on this site the better. We are mostly a squad of bang average Championship players who now and again will have a really good game. But we have too many players who rate 5/10 for many games in between!!

You've just described why these players are in the championship, if they were 8/10 they every week they'd be in the Premiership.

The owners have finally decided its time to get the wage bill under control, after 10yrs of mismanagement, incoherent buys and terrible appointments, this is only going to get worse.

@tomphil called it a few weeks ago, this could very easily end up with the club back in league 1 sadly.

  12. Its never great losing and I maybe in the minority here, but I really enjoyed the game last night, end to end and plenty of open attacking play. We should have been winning after the first half, lets not forget that, with a depleted side too, but Sunderland got on top, Mowbrays done a great job up there.

    Onwards and upwards.
