2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
chaddyrovers replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No-one has said we should be over reliant on Academy players but some of us reckon that some players like Tyjon, Duru and Montgomery should be part of the first team squad. Tyjon is highly rated that we big clubs want him, Duru I think he should have been Brittain's back up last season not JRC who isnt a right back in million years. Montgomery impressed his appearances and I want to see him play more. Bringing through 2 or 3 academy players every season should be the aim of our Academy given its a cat 1 Academy. Why shouldnt that be the aim for us? If they are good enough, they are old enough. No one has set any targets for young players. He's get plenty right. He reported clubs interested in this or that player, yet some people misinterpreted that for he is signing here. People don't read the story right. Like someone said Tyjon is off to Arsenal based on Nicko's article which isn't what Nicko reported. He reported Arsenal interest in Tyjon and Arsenal are willing to offer £1m plus bonuses for him. -

Guys, I judged them on what they actually do as owners of the club and NOT outside influences of them owning and running a football club properly. Newcastle owners have done a very good job as owners of that club since they bought it. That's all they should be judged on! -

do you think PSG or Newcastle fans really care about what is going on in those countries really? I wouldn't if I was supporter of those clubs -

Yes I know. Teams know we are good at developing young players and clubs are now targeting us for this very reasons, but we have good track record at bringing through our own players and we should carry this on why shouldn't we been bringing through our own players from our academy? -
GB's comments from September 2023 on Dolan's contract latest Gregg Broughton reveals latest on Dolan contract talks | Lancashire Telegraph do you know what we offered in wages in the contract talks or not? its a simple question, care to answer it please?

wrong again RF99 But sadly my focus is on the ownership of their clubs not what is going on their own country whatever that might be. That's is focus for supporters of their clubs and rightly so, not none football matters -

wrong again RF99 but carrying on posting your lies. Nights games means I get 3 hours less sleep before I go to work on a night shift but it is my choice to work nights and to attend Rovers games. Its my decision so I owned my decision. I take it from your comments you have never worked night shifts in your working life? is this correct RF99? -
do you know what wage GB offer him or just more speculation from you? given the number of contracts he got Players to sign suggested the wage offered was rubbish from yourself is wide of the mark. Maybe Dolan decide 2 years he wanted to test the water and have a choice of clubs he wants

Its wasn't but my point I was making is more than relevant to this thread. Nicko is a source of info. That's it. Don't live on every word either just for the record either. -

Have both set of owners invested in their clubs with money without putting debt on the clubs like some other owners of clubs like United and Liverpool? That's all supporters want is good ownership and investment into their club. -
Gregg Broughton tried to get him to sign a new contract more than 2 years ago and we couldn't.

what don't you get? time or day aren't a problem at all, I have been used to attending Rovers matches on different days so its no difference nowadays compare to 5 or 10 years ago. Also to add this is main social activity with my bro and nephew. We enjoying attending Rovers home games and also hopefully more away games next season with my missus getting better after serious illness. You and others might not be able to attend for different reasons but plenty of us to attend every home games. -
if Venkys want to appoint Gestede they would have done it already in my opinion. Why employing an employment agency to find a CEO if the leading candidate is already within your organisation. I think it will still be another month or so before we appoint a new CEO

They were at Liverpool FC at different times -
Looks hope for a good Spanish Grand Prix. Monaco race was boring and not a great race
-
I don't see Gestede being made the CEO for us this summer. If so, the owners would have done it straight away. They don't care about bad press otherwise they would have made a different decision over the women team and actually invested more than the minimum and they could have made some investment in the women's team and got promotion plus good PR from it. If I was the Rovers owner I would have invested a couple of million into the team and go for promotion, the interest in the Rovers women team isn't alot but having a better overall strategy to increase attendance but also make good PR for the club and the women game interest and popularly is increase even tho it isn't for myself. On the CEO, Parkinson's CV is more than decent enough and understand the role and his previous role at Liverpool means he understand how a football club is run but also been part of Plymouth's success. Nicko says Venkys has appointed a headhunt agency to find a new CEO so that's rules Gestede out surely.

have their owners invested in the club and funding it properly plus wasn't their chairman of the company that owns the club at the stadium and part of after match celebrations. -

much rather be in the stadium supporting my team than watching on home even tho I can watch plenty of fixtures on TV. You can't beat being there watching your team. I much prefer being at Ewood Park 23 times a season then sat at home watching from my armchair every single time. -

yet again, never comment on Nicko's record have I or have I said he gets things wrong but people don't read the story properly. Just to be clear, Nicko's story hasn't said he is coming here but he is early front runner. Clearly other clubs will be clearly interest in our best young players just we were when Eze and Tyjon were at Stanley and Rochdale. Did anyone moan or complain when we took their best young players -

It was Former Plymouth director of Football Neil Dewship who was behind the Rooney appointment given Dewship was his youth coach at Everton when Rooney was coming through the ranks at Everton. None of us complained when we take Stanley or Rochdale brighter young players for our academy. -

Both wrong. He says Arsenal are interested in Tyjon. He never said he was off to United or Higgins to Arsenal but both clubs were interested in those players. Key word is interested in those players. People problem is they see a link to a player and misread the story whether its an incoming or outgoing -

He lives the other side of the world so how is attending games? Midweek nights have always been part of football in my time of following Rovers and Football so what's the issue? -
Nicko reporting that Plymouth Chief Executive Andrew Parkinson is the early front runner to replace Waggott as CEO here is his CV https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrew-parkinson-349888139?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=profile&utm_medium=android_app

Is Ohashi only decent championship player? Why doesn't Gueye not fit in anymore? He gives you a plan B and a player who could hold the ball up and scored decent return in his first season. Plus both will learn from this past season and hopefully be better for it
