I am an away travel season ticket holder and we were asked to fill in forms on the trip to Liverpool on Wednesday, so they wanted us to decide what we wanted to do before the FA had decided when the game was!

I don't expect Rovers to make a huge investment to cope with this kind of situation. However since this is such an exceptional event extending the opening hours for the ticket office so that people could go or ring in the evening is not unreasonable. You say support the club more than once ever five years, well I do, I have a season ticket and go to every away game as well. That's why I find it frustrating, if I only went once in a blue moon then I would think fair enough, it's busy I will have to put up with that. You also say it's not difficult to do what's necessary to get a ticket for this game but that's not true for everyone. I managed to get away from work early to get a ticket because my boss is a footie fan so understood how important this was. However I couldn't have spent an hour or more on the phone at work running up my company's phone bill and if my boss had been less understanding I would have had real problems.

I am one of the moaning season ticket holders but I went to the Colchester game, the Cardiff replay and the Cardiff away game, so if I want to moan I will bloody well moan! Seriously though, like I said before, the ticket office could open late a few nights to help people who can't go or phone during the day to get their tickets.

I went yesterday at about 4.45 and queued for about half an hour before getting my ticket. They had every window but one open as I think they were trying to clear the queue ready to close so had fewer people answering the phones and more selling in person. They were going to let people join the queue up to 5.30 and serve everyone who was waiting at that time. I thought that was pretty fair and given the number of people waiting I was served quite quickly. However I found it really frustrating when I tried to phone as you have to listen to all the info about the game before being told the option you have selected is busy. If you had the option of information only or going straight to the queue it would be much better. I realise there are a lot of tickets to sell in a limited time however according to Burnley's website they had sold all the top tier of the Darwen end by 11.30 this morning i.e. 3,000 tickets in 2.5 hours. Another thing I noticed on their website was that their ticket office was staying open until 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Somebody asked do we employ more staff on the off chance of a big game like this, well no we shouldn't but given this is a one off situation I don't think it would be unreasonable to open late a few evenings.

I agree that decision was an absolute shocker. How he could fail to give the penalty is beyond me.

They have to give us more for a cup game than for a league game don't they? I have an away travel season ticket so I have phoned Barbara already to tell her I want my ticket.

Of course Fergie couldn't see it so he didn't blame the linesman or the ref. He could however see that Man U should have had a penalty, well what a surprise. Look out for this linesman along with Mike Riley officiating every week at Old Trafford.

The company I work for has a box in the Blackburn End and we have advertising at the back of the Blackburn End underneath our box. Was there advertising under the box in question, as that could be the the company concerned (note could be, I'm not sure it must be)? The boxes do have notices it them saying that they are behind an area of home fans and that people should behave accordingly. However if this is ignored then the club should take action against people inciting home fans. If you pay £25 - £30k for a box (can't remember exactly how much it is) then obviously you should be allowed to take customers who support the opposing team but they must behave appropriately ie an away fan would want to celebrate a goal but gesturing etc. crosses the line of what is acceptable. I've been in the corporate area at Old Trafford and there was no problem being an away fan there (of course there's never any reason to celebrate there!).

One I don't think we will hear is "Thursday nights aren't for playing football, I would prefer to take my wife out for dinner". I don't suppose he will be saying Europe isn't a priority either.

After last season's fiasco going to Southampton I would guess the away travel coaches will be setting off at about 5am!

In tonight's LET it says Burnley fans are happy with the linked ticket sales as it has helped to weed out Man Ure fans. That's what they think until they turn up to the match and find themselves sitting next to one. The tickets aren't too expensive either compared to premiership prices, thay start at £15 for adults, so £30 for the two tickets might not deter the Man Ure fans who can't get tickets in the away end.

There was someone sitting behind me last night (Blackburn end) with a very strong scottish accent pointing out where he was going to be in the Riverside. He didn't say which match he had a ticket for but I assume Thursday's. He and his mates didn't appear back after half time but I suppose you can't blame them for that.

Don't they already? In the details about the home leg it says that away fans in home areas will be ejected if it is safe to do so. I would take that to mean nothing will happen- unless Lardarse tries to chuck some out.

Whether or not you believe that Rovers couldn't get more than 2,800 tickets it is the distribution of the tickets that I disagree with. If I had been to 15 away games last season but missed out to someone who had been to all the away games ,whilst not being happy, I would have to accept that as being fair. If however I lost out to someone who had been to no away games I would feel cheated and really angry. Jordan and Hannah contact the club, beg, plead, whatever they must still have some tickets to cover themselves if they screw up - it's hardly unexpected.

I have heard that some of the restricted view seats are very restricted ie some sort of pillar/support in front of the seat so you would be sitting with a leg either side! I hope this is wrong and if it's not wrong then I hope it's not my seat!

He should have made sure that it's the "normal hard core away support" who get the tickets by using people's purchasing record from the database or asking for away ticket stubs. The way it is being done could result in these people missing out and people who do not travel often or even at all getting tickets. That would break the terms on which the club sells season tickets - ie priority when applying for limited availibility away games. They've already made a huge concession by giving priority to non-ST holders who travelled to Sofia. This is a fantasitc gesture of good will. I looked at Chelsea's website for their away allowance in the last round at Viking. It was 500 tickets in a tiny stadium where the regular crowd is 5,000. No-one was guaranteed a ticket, and to even apply you needed a season ticket and a 100% attendance at last seasons away fixtures in the Prem. We're bloody lucky. I know season ticket holders have to get priority over non season ticket holders and I am not suggesting they should not have. What I think should have happened is that season ticket holders who do go to away matches should have priority. As regard Chelsea's requirement for holding a season ticket and having 100% away record to apply for a ticket that sounds perfectly fair. Why didn't Rovers do something similar?

Boris,see my message above - some of us have done loads of travelling in the past, does this count for nothing now? I'm not saying that travelling in the past doesn't count but if JW's logic is that we have enough tickets for the regulars he should ensure they get first shout. As I said in an earlier post I think he should have tried to get an option on more tickets based on the fact we are giving Celtic more than the minimum.

I don't understand why it has taken so long to announce details when the club has obviously just let Celtic walk all over them. The tickets could have gone on sale earlier to people who travel to away games and then to other season ticket holders. Surely the club could have negotiated an option on some more tickets. Celtic say "you can have 2800 tickets with 900 restricted view". Rovers say "You can have 1500". Rovers offer more in return for an option on additional tickets if the original ones sell out. The club say 3,000 is ok for an away game but this is not a normal game as it has been hyped up so much. I think it's absolutely disgraceful for the club to treat their most loyal supporters so shoddily.
