2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
alexanders replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
From a Twitter account: Alexander Henriksson🇸🇪 • 16/04/2002 •Another signing that is marked by myself as a dream signing, although I think he is still worth mentioning. Henriksson plays his club football for Swedish top flight side GAIS. During the 2024 Season, Henriksson played 26 games which 19 of them he started. Predominately deployed as the attacking player in the midfield three in GAIS`s 4-3-3 formation. •A parallel can be drawn to Fredrikstad`s current creative output in Morten Bjørlo. The two players, while different share some of the creative and on the ball qualities. •The Ability to win the ball in the final 3rd of the pitch, and driving forward with the ball is something that is prominent in both players, and even more so in Axel Henriksson. A technically prominent midfielder combined with his athleticism and his towering 190cm, makes of a rare mould of a footballer. • Although Axel Henriksson is an attacking midfielder, some of his defensive numbers are also through the roof compared to comparable players - Aerial duels won: 42 (92nd percentile) - Duels won: 117 (77th percentile) - Possesion won in the final 3rd: (89th percentile) • The 22-year-old also had an impressive season attacking wise, as he managed 8 goals and 3 assists from 19 starts in the Allsvenskan for a GAIS team that finished 6th. His numbers in the attacking numbers are as his defensive ones, impressive. - Goals: 8 (100th percentile) - Shots on target: 20 (100th percentile) - Touches in opposition box: 98 (95th percentile) • One of Henriksson`s abilities that impressed me the most is his positioning. In the instanced i have watched him, he always seems to be in the right spot, which speaks of a high footballing IQ. As previously mentioned, I find Henriksson to be a unique mould of footballer, and a mould of attacking midfielder you don't see very often. •This is made clear by the interest in him. At the time of writing, Polish club Rakov Czestochowa holds a strong interest in the player who`s contract runs out at the end of 2026, and as we fast approach the transfer window, I am sure there will be a lot of intrest in the player. As previously stated, i view Axel Henriksson as a dream signing, and aknowledge that should he leave GAIS in janaury he will most likely move to a bigger team. •With a market value of 1,5 million euros, I do not think a deal can be reached for under 2 million Euros which would Smash Fredrikstad's transfer record. -
NEC Nijmegen (a) - 2/8/2025 - Friendly

I can’t see how Dolan or Weimann would have fared better against this Dutch side. Can especially see Dolan lost the ball to the opposition a lot if he played. -

Poor performance, but a quality run out before the season opener. Quality side. We look vulnerable when we get played around our high press line. No standouts for me other than AK for a short period where we should have turned the game around. -

Was in the right place for the goal against Everton, came to some decent opportunities against Elche and look defensively solid. Partnership with Ribeiro not clicking all together unfortunately. Need time to adapt each other -

In my opinion he has more of the attributes to make him a great right winger. -

Could mean that De Neve plays inverted on RW to make room for overlapping fullbacks and the new RW does the same. -

Could be the RW we need, versatile to play RB as well. would rather have a RW who could also play LW to be able to swap flanks if needed -

I would command £5-8m up for Gueye. He is a beast, he is a great character, he gives us something else and has shown glimpses of what he can do. IF we sell him I would replace him with (wishful thinking) Matija Frigan from Belgian Super League. Rumored to Elche. 1,85, Croatian and had 9 goals last season for his club Westerlo. there is one really good thing with getting players from Swiss K-League, Belgian Super League or similar league and that is the season is already started and they should be fit and ready to go straight away. I guess today (not many hours) will give us answers how far things have advanced with both CB and MG. will they be in the line up against NEC? -

Was it the MD. Martin you spoke with? No reason to make this more conspiracy then necessary. -

Conor Coady to Wrexham. £2m. Could be an okey signing, but Coady turns 33 during this season. Wonder if it’s 2 or 3 year deal. Rumored to be on 70k p.w. -

He said that in a Norwegian podcast with a local newspaper in Haugesund where his girlfriend is from and where he spent some amazing years playing for Haugesunds FK. His dream is to go to PL, but that won’t happen with rovers and him turning 30 this year it makes sense to go back to Norway to finish his career and take care of his family. -

😂 How could I? to be fair - he did contribute and is a solid player for the remaining 10-15 minutes to see out games. I feel more confident with subbing in Forshaw then Bucko to see out a game. -

More competition for Tronny, who seems to be sitting deep. Important to plan around Tronny leaving next year. He has said he loves life in Blackburn, but wants to move back to Norway for family matters. -

Who would be happy with this: GK: Toth/Pears/Michalski RB: Miller/Alebiosu/Montgomery RCB: Carter/Miller/Hyam LCB: Wharton/Mcloughlin/Pickering LB: Ribeiro/Pickering/De Neve LW: De Neve/Kargbo/ DM/CM: 3T/Montgomery RW:Hedges/Ohashi? CAM: Cantwell/Tyjon/Bucko ST:Gueye/Ohashi/Leonard Anyone missing? several players could be used in different positions - quite versatile without square pegs in round holes. Must have: quick, energetic RW. For me that’s all I need. nice to have: another striker -

Danny Batth turns 35. He was a very solid player, especially with Wharton out. With him back in all honestly it makes sense to not give him another year. Look at Sunderland where he came from. They took the chance even though he was quite a useful player for them. -

He did, but didn’t he tear his meniscus or something in March and was out for the rest of the season? Just came back and got 30 minutes for Derby in pre-season. to be honest: would we be happy with us taking someone who came from a severe injury, 34 year old and didn’t get a proper pre-season? I can understand why we didn’t make a lot of efforts to maintain him, and he has a longer history with Derby and history with JE -

I can understand the Weimann issue, but he is 34. He came back now for Derby after an injury. He is a player that takes care of himself, but he can easily become an expensive sick note.
