  1. I have seen the type of thing we are discussing now unfold at my local team (which used to play in the top division). We had a manager who loved to play the old and reliable and didnt give the youth much playing time. One by one they left for other clubs. 3 of them played in the Europeal League seminfinal for Bodรธ Glimt. Only one we got money for, the other two we didnt get a thing. A.Wharton is what it is. We should be proud and happy that we get to see these talents evolve at the might blue and whites. To stop giving playing time to young prospects will lead to them going elsewhere and develop there instead without getting big money. The balance is important, but looking. at Montgomery for example; Just chucking in a body on RB to have some and then reducing his playing time is not a very strategy in my opinion. And all players comes with risk. Some of the biggest investments in the top clubs have been flops. Lots of money chucked at a players doesnt guarantee success. What I dont like, but fully understand is that we are buying from relegated teams such as De Neve. History has thought us that it would be better to bring in bodies that are used to promotion instead of relegation, but then again we dont have the negotiation power needed.
  2. Sounds like trying to negotiate via Journos to see if we are desperate and make Brittain even more uncomfortable.
  3. I do miss the times when we last had a Big sale, P. Jones, splashed 6.80m on Scott Dann and nearly 4m on Goodwillie recouping 1.5m. Running a football club is extremely difficult. Minimizing risk is a clever way to do it. When it comes to not backing Eustace, he was delighted with both Sanderson and Forshaw in the Jan window. In addition we brought in AK and Dennis. The summer transfer window I think most supporters were pleased with.
  4. A very important part of it is not playing old players all the time which blocks the development of the young players. Without saying anything about needing a new RB or LW it is a fact that more bodies makes it tougher for our youth players to be a part of it, even getting 10-15 mins cameos.
  5. Wasnโ€™t it said that he wanted a 2y contract at Rovers?
  6. Iโ€™m not saying they necessarily will be replaced by two better players straight away, but hopefully they will be replaced by to players With more financial upside if they turn out great. When it comes to the experience in the squad; we have Hyam, Wharton, Pickering, Travis, Tronstad, Carter, Cantwell and Hedges to name a few. This is spiced up with some very exciting prospects in Tyjon, Batty, Duru, Montgomery, Riordan.
  7. Batth turns 36 in Sept and Weimann 34 in August. Keeping them could be smart, but giving a 36 year old a two-year contract is no way to run a football club. Also Weimann turning 34. Itโ€™s not very sustainable long-term giving such players contracts.
  8. Canโ€™t believe what Iโ€™m reading. People so upset that we are losing a 36! Year old and a 34 year old. Decent players, but nowhere near irreplaceable
  9. It's stupid that this is being perceived as "bad football" or something along those lines. Liverpool and other of the top teams have been doing it for years. It's just about being able to mix it up. Which is exactly what we seem to be doing under Eustace.
  10. Let me rephrase, academy product ๐Ÿ˜‰
  11. Agree Ossy. I love having Trav in the team. Local lad, shithousery, always a smile
  12. He didnโ€™t try to pass it. That was just because he wasnโ€™t successful with the dribble. He only put his head down instead of looking for teammates. Reminds me of Karl Poborsky.
  13. Did you notice Fadz just tapping the ball right in front of a burnley player who was about to take the ball for a quick throw-in โค๏ธ
  14. It has been said, but what a performance from our captain. Shithousery, running his socks off, tackling ! Just imagine if Dolan could have given him a pass and Trav won us the game
  15. Wow. Eustace threw on Duru in the thick off a local derby ahead of JRC. Awesome
  16. You canโ€™t blame Pears for the goal. Itโ€™s Hyam and to a tad Tronstad.
  17. Hyam Also at the fault for the Goal. Continuing his powerpuff performance throwing away the game against Blackpool
  18. Really liked the last 15 from Beck, in their faces ready for a tackle! Reminds me of Warnock
  19. I am actually surprised (not really) to see Dolan so extremely lazy and not ready for a fight
  20. Fucking love him! Ordered Tronstad on my shirt, but need a new one with Gueye on
  21. No. Ref saying offside. Sky confirmed it.
  22. 100% my thoughts as well. So soft.
