  1. This is completely wrong though. Do you think all other clubs that sign someone in the end didn’t have to, they are just doing it for fun? Gueye and Ohashi was targets we are able to move in on, the Dutch keeper was to expensive and moved to Marseille. We did move in on Weismann quite swiftly and decided to go back on Batth and Fadz. Many prem loans are always late in the window and to be sure we get the right body’s in (who we believe can fight for a starting spot immediately) there are a lot of puzzle pieces that need to come together. We are probably working behind the scenes with a lot of players, price points, positions etc. It’s like buying a car; you like at model, km, edition etc. If another brand or model becomes available you assess that. Read some tests, analyze potential downsides, it takes time to buy something when there is a lot of money involved and situations can change. Players who you didn’t expect to be good enough has shown very good performances in pre-season, you decide to give them more time to see if they can be trusted. Others haven’t performed and you might find yourself looking for a target you didn’t expect , Liam Cooper could be one of those.
  2. This forum is such an echo chamber. I can’t understand why it’s possible to get slagged off to be positive to your football club.
  3. Apparently Rangers after winger Abu Kamara at Norwich. Probably need one out before one in.
  4. Thank you for the extremely arrogant answer. To be frank I am attending several boardroom meetings in a football club and know very well a lot that is going behind the scenes and how much that can differ from the opinions and perceptions in a fanbase. How we don't spend anything while we have made so much money, what about the Leeds supporters then? They have made the most money on transfers out of any club in Europe this summer and hasn't spent a penny yet.
  5. I think many think that a lot is much worse than it is and they have never been involved in running a football club, management or board anywhere
  6. Agree regarding Hyam. We need a better CB to partner Carter.
  7. Not all. I have nothing towards either Danes or Swedes. As I said I loved the football we played under JDT. When it was good it was absolutely fantastic. I loved his Charisma and was very proud of Rovers under JDT. He made several players progress under him, but also had his flaws. These flaws became very transparent when he didn't get his will.
  8. Was it his smile? Charisma or footballing wise? First half against Norwich certainly was JDTesque footballing wise
  9. NIce, We asked you to select your Burnley player of the season from the four candidates chosen by our fan contributor. After voting in your thousands, we can reveal the winner is... Sander Berge!
  10. It's always easy to come with such noises after you have failed miserably.
  11. Im very impressed that everyone knows everything about contract situation, club lies, JDTs feelings and everything going on at board level.
  12. Thanks for the explanation. We then had a horrible situation in the club with a manager who wanted out and we were stubborn and stuck with him. Impressive that we had such good results with a manager who wanted out.
  13. The owners demanded he pay out remaining money on his deal? Sorry, I don't understand what you mean here
  14. Was the only reason that we nosedived under JDT that he didn't want to be here anymore? I loved the football under JDT, but he didn't have any plan B at all. He didn't make us hard to beat and I question his way of man-managament.
  15. On a positive not Burnley are getting stripped for good players; Sander Berge ready for Fulham and hopefully Benson to Leeds.
  16. Tried to quit?? How difficult could that be..... The thing is for an up and coming manager like JDT getting fired would be very negative for his CV. As I said if the results was good or even okay he wouldn't have gone from the club.
  17. I am 100% sure that JDT wouldn't have quit IF the results had gone better than they did. I think he found himself in a Catch22 situation where he had to look for a job elsewhere to avoid getting fired. I think Broughton realised he was never getting any real money out of these people and so turned to the 'loan with option' route in a desperate bid to be able to recruit reasonable quality, but again, easier said than done. IF You look at GB`s record in Bodø Glimt where he came from, it was quite good, however there was no uproar in BG when he left and they have continued to do equally good in not better with the transfers after he left. He was no magician. I think he said the right things, but he hasn't been able to find a new job. However he did give us SS who we sold for a nice profit
  18. Always the same noises. We talk our own football club down in the drain. JDT didn't walk, did he?
  19. If we can get Dembele on a cheap I would like that signing. potential bargain and JE is the best to know if his attitude is correct or not. He was a brilliant player for Brum first months under JE. Could be very shrewd business.
  20. And tried to chew our arm off instead of waking it
  21. Normally because they get sign ons right in their own pocket
  22. We really should have dealt with that situation better. Lazy backtracking from Dolan, JRC and Hedges. Hyam not quick enough in neither feet nor head.
