  1. For me it’s…. Toth Alebiosu Miller Cashin Pickering Tronstad Baradji Jørgensen Cantwell Morishita Ohashi Or since Ismael doesn't seem to be able to coach a 4231... Toth Miller O'Riordan Cashin Alebiosu Tronstad Cantwell Pickering Morishita Jørgensen Ohashi Since there is zero chance we'll play either of our unspectacular but championship proven LBs (for whatever reason), swap Cashin to LB and McLoughlin to CB in the 4231. Or put De Neve in at LWB in the 352 and stick £50 on their RW to score.
  2. I wish they would ban them, that would make for national news. Doubt even they would be that stupid.
  3. Because it is against the law to share a phonecall publicly without consent. You could argue it's in the public interest I suppose but you'd probably lose. If the person recording is acting on behalf of a business, they have to tell the other side they're recording and if they're acting as an individual they can record, but they can't share it publicly because the GDPR then applies as it's no longer "personal" use. As is my understanding anyway. Not legal advice etc etc
  4. I would imagine they will reduce the catering staff requirement if they're doing so for stewards regardless of that post on twitter being wrong. Stewards are there for safety, so the club has an obligation to staff for the reasonable maximum crowd. Obviously it's not as important to have enough bar staff etc. And they already understaff the kiosks anyway, have you ever tried to buy a pint at HT? We'll know soon enough anyway.
  5. That's not true though, or at least that screenshot isn't proof. It's the same one from 2 pages ago referring to a steward.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the "scoop" that we're after a young loan from the PL, and the mystery player is better than what we have but would therefore potentially attract interest from clubs better set up than ours, so he probably won't come here? No shit.
  7. Think you're taking it all a bit seriously. All I said was that you didn't provide information beyond what we would reasonably assume is happening anyway. If people enjoy that, cool. Personally, I'm not sure it's worth it, apart from maybe to say you knew something before other people if the nebulous thing comes to pass. Again, not for me, but if that turns you on, fine. No judgement.
  8. Do whatever you want, I couldn't care less. All I'm saying is that it's not information worth reading if I don't learn anything. You know something, cool. Good for you.
  9. I think the point is that there isn't any value to telling people that we may or may not sign a guy. Who cares? We haven't learnt anything. I could have told you that.
  10. To be fair I take that article as a sign that even internally they know we're fucked if we don't sign a decent striker, and we can't afford one if we also need to sign a new LWB. Probably even if we don't, but every penny counts when the club has to wash its own face I guess.
  11. Where? I'm sure I've seen links for it before but I'm not on here often. It looks much nicer than anything the club has done in recent memory, and I don't pay money to Venkys as a point of principle anyway. I bought the 60s halved sleeve one for my dad when you did that and it was really nice. And while I'm here, if that all white thing is the actual anniversary shirt, which it can't be surely, it's so bad it's almost funny. Being a proper football fan is about identity. We have one of the most identifiable kits in world football, so to celebrate also being one of the oldest and most historically significant, let's wear a plain white tee with an almost entirely irrelevant cross on it? Hilarious. They'll sell twelve.
  12. Lots of teams better than us will succumb to this at the Valley this season. Horrible game, and that's the way they like it
  13. Saying it's a fair outcome because of the pitch and drainage makes no sense. It plays no factor in the decision. If we had been down to 10 and Ipswich had been 1 up, then the outcome would have been the same. Full replay. And if it wasn't the same (and we'll never know), then the EFL is corrupt. Our pitch and drainage meets the regulations of the league, so it doesn't matter. If the EFL wants to use the standard of the pitch as a whole as a factor, then they have to change the pitch regulations and force our owners to spend money on it.
  14. If it's the last 10+stoppage it would just be behind closed doors, streamed online. They wouldn't bother paying concourse staff and stewards for 15 mins. The argument that it's more difficult than a 90 mins game doesn't really wash. And if we wanted a full 90 mins replay, it would have been announced by now because that's obviously what Ipswich want too.
  15. That's fair enough, I just don't understand how it's better for us than calling it a draw. Seems like it would make everyone as unhappy as possible. Can't imagine it will be anything other than a replay, but the objectively most fair thing to do is to play the last 10 mins plus stoppage time at 11v10. Still not as good for us as just finishing the game at the time, but no one could reasonably complain and it's exactly the same amount of effort as playing a full 90 except we lose out on gate receipts.
  16. Are you trying to say call it a draw? I don't understand why we would want to call it a win and get 1 point? What's the difference? And why would Ipswich accept getting no points but not accept us getting 3? How does that solution "minimise" anything? Ipswich are just as unhappy as if we are awarded the 3 points, and we are just as unhappy as if the game is replayed from scratch. I'm so confused.
  17. Why would anyone want that?
  18. In the US, well the NFL at least, they tend to finish the game as soon as the conditions improve. With a sparse or nonexistent crowd. It happens a fair bit with thunder storms. No idea if the pitch would have got any better as the rain eased, but that would have been the sensible choice if it had. Barring the obvious of just getting on with the last 10 mins anyway. Playing the last 10th of the game in suboptimal conditions is obviously a fairer conclusion than starting from scratch. But either way, I'll be shocked if that isn't the outcome. Probably just have to go out and beat them again.
  19. Obviously easiest to remember the most painful examples... Sheffield United in the FA Cup we went to 5 at the back about a minute before they equalised, Preston away it was about 5 mins before Hedges missed his dinked sitter and Hyam buried the Preston equaliser.
  20. I'd 100% back Dolan over 5, 10 and probably 20 yards for pace. But other than that and being a bit lightweight, Mori looks a quality player. Gudjohnsen looked very promising too. Looks technically good and gets the most out of his frame. Seemed a smart player too, same as Mori. It bears repeating just how good Scott Wharton was today. Absolutely fantastic performance. Back with a bang on his first league start in nearly 18 months. Easiest MotM I'll ever give. Really chuffed for him.
  21. Erm... Just... What? This conversation is what I imagine an aneurysm feels like. All I said was Hyam is an average championship defender, and I'd rather we kept him. Thanks for reminding me why I don't post things on the internet. Innabit.
  22. Ok, thanks for clarifying that he's got a good injury and disciplinary record. I mean, I kind of knew that, that's why I said it, but regardless. You keep saying "two 7th place finishes" as though it proves something about how good he is. Well even if it did, 7th isn't exactly far above mid table anyway, and want to know what his average finish in the championship is? 12th. Out of 24. He's been available all summer for a modest fee on modest wages and he's gone to a club that will probably finish mid table. Sheff United have been pretty desperate for a CB all summer and I bet they didn't even consider him. We could do with a decent enough CB who is always available. We had one, we seemingly couldn't afford to offer him the going rate of pay, so he's gone. It's bad business, but don't kid yourself into thinking he was great, even for this shit league.
  23. What are you on about? You might have read it, but you clearly didn't understand it. You don't even know what you're arguing about.
  24. We have a worse team than Wrexham. I think you're only reading half what I wrote. We will miss him. We're crap.
  25. Yeah, you're right. That must be why he's gone to Wrexham.
