Absolutely. Wharton would be on the bench ahead of Downing for me. Lincoln fans seemed to rate him. -

The premier league is really causing financial problems for the teams below and young players. Adam Armstrong is a prime example. The lad is available for £3 million. He is likely £20k plus at Newcastle. Peanuts to them but I imagine above anything our current squad are on. Armstrong indicated he would like to return. However, he would likely have to take a wage drop to do so. Does he want first team football enough to slash his wage - with the potential to double it if he has a couple of good seasons. Or will he be being advised to sit on the money and hope somebody comes and matches his wages or increases them. I am guessing it is currently the latter. There must be many young premier players in the same boat. -

This I don't get. There were some useful players in league one. Most of whom have now been snapped up. Wonder if TM set his sights too high and subsequently been priced out of the market? -

Looking at that you would say his successes were the British based players (exception being Jonas Olson). Perhaps that explains his reluctance to look abroad. -

You are making up your own agenda pal. If we signed Otzumer instead of Rothwell, do you really think people would be saying "Meh we should have signed the injury plagued lad from Oxford." Appreciate that clubs other than Rovers do make good signings (comparatively) -in some people's opinions (clearly not your own). Just like fans of other teams will be comparing theirs to ours and doing likewise. -

What has Rothwell done in the champ? Wasn't always a first teamer for Oxford. Be interesting to compare Otzumer's stats with Rothwells at the end of the season. Davenport could be decent. Yes Wildschutt is a loan and a very good one at this level. Loans are hard to do though because of the world cup... -

Bolton have managed to get a couple of decent signings through the door on the cheap. Otzumer and now Wildschutt (sp) if they hadn't signed Lowe as well, I'd be saying hats off. Not bad for a club supposedly in dire straits. Better than our recruitment so far, as we are relying on potential. -

It's a strong Liverpool reserve team. -

Some teams in league one would have said the same about our squad in context. We've huffed n puffed but the lack of forward thinking players is worrying. At least we've had a good run around. -

Exactly. So we shouldn't be surprised if goal posts get constantly moved. It's supply and demand of a single individual. If you want the player enough, make sure you budget for them.. -

You aren't telling me that agents aren't approached pre transfer bid to get an idea of wages/likelihood of them joining? If we didn't then that is naive in the extreme. However, Competition for a signature may drive a contract up. Then by correlation, if you know the initial contract demands and that there is interest in a player....you need to budget accordingly which it appears we haven't done. I look forward to working in Spain ? -

No point signing players If they aren't going to improve what we ave. Under 23s can plug gaps. If they weren't aware of the expected fees and wages of players they were interested in, then clearly the scouting system isn't working. -
New Kits
Wing Wizard Windy Miller replied to laughatthedingles's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Is Cory Evans the best we can trot out for the kit launch?Surely Graham, Dack Smallwood etc. People we actually like. Hope the fact that Dack's not in the picture isn't a sign. NB. Don't like the kit at all.
