Least that means he's fit again. Let's hope he stays on it.

Probably the same person that keeps removing all your punctuation!

I get ya. Hope this deal comes off.
-
It has to be a loan?
-
Is this where we reflect on the actual transfer window where we should have got our permanent business done?
-
Only over the limit in terms of matchday. Could loan a squad filler for emergencies...or dip into the freebie bin.
-
Pullis interview at weekend saying he expected 3 in on loan with some players ready to go out. Sheffield united possibly interested in Chapman.
-
Not like he's the main striker though. Should be easily replaceable.

Harrison Reed
Wing Wizard Windy Miller replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Depends on the long term view. Initially I had the same opinion as you Jim - not really needed. When I thought about it though, he is clearly an upgrade on Smallwood and we know Evans is injury prone. Travis looks promising but would benefit from a year in league one. This signing should allow Travis to go out somewhere and develop. Hopefully, Travis kicks on and returns ready to cement a place in the middle next year. If he doesn't and this lad does very well, then maybe we would get him permanently. At least it strengthens the depth and competition and improves the bench at worst. -
Agree. We have 2 slots after Brereton though. Loans: Palmer, Reed, Brereton
-
As before. If it's 2 spots, I'd say winger and and CB. Samuels only seems to be used on the right wing and we are short of a wide player. To be fair, we could probably loan a young CB who may not feature in the team -only in emergencies as you can take up to 7 loans I believe, but only play 5 Edit:. A team can take up to 8 loans

Both spellings of the word are axeceptable

Come on Mani. Even you were a little skeptical after that deadline day farce! Looks like turning out better than expected - I'll be ecstatic with the window if we get a winger and a defender by the end of the week!
-
Ha ha! I think he will be an exciting addition. If he is Armstrong quick and direct then he should fit right in. Still not convinced we have a striker capable of doing the 'Graham' role though. Need one for next season.

Really? There is nothing in those clips that make me think the kid has 'absolutely everything'. He doesn't seem to have blistering pace, Dack like technique/skill, defenders bouncing off him, not much evidence playing with back to goal or winning headers, nor clinical finishing. Vilanueva had a better show reel? Granted that is s limited view of the lad though - and having read a lot of Forest fan's opinions, as I stated, they clearly rate him. Always better to see what they are like in the flesh. I take it you've seen him live a few times? What are his strengths? Edit: just read your post further down, think that covered it ?.
-
I thought that from the clips. Doesn't look anything special based on those. Think we can only go off the general consensus of Forest fans.

Prem league teams won't take these players now. They can afford to pay a premium when they've developed.
-
Olly Burke's career seems to have stalled. Wonder if he could be available on a loan with a view. Maybe another head gone case, but we seem ok with that!
-
Smallwood was one of mine. Couldn't see him cutting it, as he wasn't doing well in a poor Rotherham side at Champ level. Did great last year! That said, still don't think he's championship quality. Rothwell is the one from this season. Again, based on his record at Oxford, didn't see the point. Looks like he could prove me well wrong!
-
The irony is, I'm pretty certain TM views the squad the same way!
-
Aha but we have a young squad ? Improve the first 18 with 2-3 quality signings a seson! Personally I'd be filling out the lower end of the squad with players moved up from the under 23s rather than the Caddis and Gladwins of this world.
-
But that's still 6 or 7 squad fillers needed if we let them go, from what is not a large squad to begin with. We need to be replacing 2-3 a year not 7 to 10 each year.
-
Where does it say anything about being disappointed regardless who we sign? You sign players -better than the ones we have. Next window, you evaluate the squad, move on underperforming/weaker players and replace with better. No?
-
Not really. Maybe, just maybe, it's not about point scoring. If you want to progress at anything, you have to constantly evaluate, find weak areas, resolve them and improve. Constant wash, rinse, repeat. Every one on here bleeds blue and white, some of us just look at things from a different angle - yet sing our hearts out for the boys on a Sat. This positive/negative bollocks really gets in my wick. From his comments and evaluation of our season start (which lots have been saying is great) you would have TM as a negative poster on here.

You could argue about the playing well part. We have fought hard every game and probably played better away from Ewood as we prefer to counter attack. At home we were very lucky first half v Millwall, 2 down after the first half against Reading and offered little attacking threat against Brentford. We are lacking that bit of extra quality to dominate at this level rather than compete. That may be sorted this window or take a couple more (if the money is there). That said, I think the next year or two could be very interesting and for the first time in a long while...I am looking forward to the next time we take on our 6 fingered friends ...
