  1. So it's a kid And not from one of the big NW clubs. Doesn't bode that well. If true that's 4 loan spots filled (with the Brighton lad). The LB is bound to be a cheap Loan as it's mainly cover. That would leave one loan spot left. Most likely a CB - although I think Carter has definitely shown enough to be amongst the first team and not go out on loan. Obviously, interesting to see who it is but we don't seem to be addressing the lack of goals in the side.
  2. I don't think many would have an issue with that model. However, the model has to be with the aim of building a promotion side, not just putting players in a shop window.
  3. Ali McCann. His name cropped up in a tenuous link at some stage at some stage this summer.
  4. If it's the lad from st Johnstone that would be quality. It won't be though as that would need to be a cash buy.
  5. Who can we get that guarantees 15 goals? That is the type of return we should expect from Gallagher based on what we paid for him.
  6. Mowbray is in a bit of a hole here. I'll be very surprised if we land a striker remotely good enough to replace Armstrong - if any at all. Given the money spent, he can't justify leaving Gallagher out the team - yet refuses to play him as a striker. He clearly can't rate him as a centre forward - yet he was brought in to be Graham's successor. Shame it's not Gallagher that's out of contract next year.
  7. So loan wise we have a ball playing cm in Clarkson. We may be getting a 'number 10' Possibility of a left back. The winger from Brighton. No noise on a striker. This false 9 thing is shite. Need somebody up top .
  8. Never quite enough against any of the top 6 teams. The Mowbray way.
  9. Just read the article. It's a connundrum. Sharpe said that we could fit Obafemi's current wages within our structure. So that's a young Irish international with a few prem league appearances and goals - at an established PL club - who will no doubt pay their younger players more than ours. It's difficult to know on that evidence whether we are seriously low balling these players..or their wage demands are unreasonable. With Waggott, I would be guessing the first option. I think there will be a bit of movement, one way or the other after the window closes.
  10. Is Dolan actually that fast? He's tricky but I don't think he's got blistering pace.
  11. Peterborough have done well recruitment wise over the last few years. Perhaps we should have been head hunting their chief scout rather than Tony's mate.
  12. That was hard won. Delighted with the way we are defending. When fit, Ayala is exactly what we've missed. Gallagher put some shift in once playing down the middle, he's lost on the wing. Finally, a doff of the cap to Chapman. That was a super cameo both going forward and defensively. Surprisingly it came from him playing in his natural position in the wing. Long may that continue. The 2 fullbacks also did well. Well done rovers and it would be churlish not to congratulate Mowbray.
  13. Time to break that 'can't beat a top 6 team hoodoo.'
  14. Poor keeping there. Tony never proactive, always reactive.
  15. More likely in his head, he is waiting for the loan signings so he can go back to trying it.
  16. Did you explain that sometimes we like to put our striker (that's out wide) at right back and play our right winger as left wingback whilst playing a player that's played at right back and centre midfield as a false 9. Then watch his head explode.
  17. Defended quite well. Say it all the time though, Gallagher needs to play down the middle. It's ridiculous. Dolan can't win a header playing there, Gallagher can't beat a man out wide. It's like banging your head against a brick wall.
  18. Resale value only If they manage to get said promising new striker to sign a new deal in a couple of years....
  19. Ironically it would seem the Blades fans put this Kean lad way behind Jack O'Connell. Sounds a Derick Williams type signing - will do a job in a couple of positions but not outstanding in any. https://www.sheffieldunited.news/opinion/why-sheffield-united-should-say-goodbye-to-kean-bryan/?amp Only 6ft 1 as well. We have enough defenders around that height. Need some one 6ft 5ish to add a bit of aerial power.
