I didn't think anyone was. I think most were just commenting on how the players were playing in that particular game, not making any judgement as to what that means for the season. The mood of a match thread always ebbs and flows depending on the score and how we're doing in that particular 10 minutes. As it ever was all across the internet, terraces and pubs across the land, friendly game or not.

Heaven forbid people comment on an ongoing match in the match thread

It was the same formation as most of last season, with most of the same personnel. Not sure anyone was whinging or getting upset, just commenting on the game they were watching. First half was shocking. Second half was better, especially after the subs. If Travis and Rothwell are the core of the team, along with Dack, we'll do ok. GK, CB x 2 and, if we have the time and resources, a LB still required before the window ends.

We look pretty shocking so far. Struggling get close to them, we're so off the pace. Struggling with crosses into our box still. Lacking in flair and imagination with this lineup. Arfield having the run of the pitch. only thing I would disagree with is, the kit isn't as awful as I first thought.

Watching the game, he's not too far wrong to be fair.

Only preseason, so result not important, but we look miles off the pace so far. Need to be much better second half.
