I think it’s perfectly acceptable & intellectually consistent to hold concurrent views along the lines of 1. I want Rovers to be an incredibly successful football club & I will support the team 100% 2. I think the owners & their acolytes are a major problem to achieving 1. In a modern polarised society too many folks can’t handle this it appears…especially on Facebook…or if you live in California…

The key part of that is PERSONAL guarantee…this brings potential liability (& scrutiny?) into their personal domain. My experience in financial services for 40+ years was that asking directors for personal guarantees for corporate borrowing REALLY focused their minds… If the court requires a bank guarantee - this would cost them money & would impact upon their bank facilities.

I’d be interested to know whether providing “the bond” opens them up to some form of personal liability as opposed to corporate liability…that might explain a lot…
