  1. Yes, I accept that, but we are almost certainly dithering. Rich Sharpe’s piece in today’s LT basically confirms that.
  2. Look at his overall record as a manager at several clubs. It's very good. Compared to some of the appalling names mentioned, he's a worthy candidate. Even decent managers often fail at one club. I could see either ending up at Leeds, especially if they are relegated. This is what makes our dithering and muddling even more frustrating.
  3. Pure speculation, and even if they do they would likely appoint someone else capable of getting them into the promotion mix. The point is, they act decisively. At most other clubs the manager would’ve been sacked during one of several shocking runs. I didn’t mention a specific agency. The way we operate is a gift for any agency. They realise how gullible Venkys are.
  4. Agree, in part, but how many other football executives came into the job having previously managed a biscuit factory? Not exactly a relevant skill set. His role just adds to the muddle. He shouldn't be the CEO, but as the person in that capacity, Waggott should be calling the shots.
  5. Watford identified who they wanted and went out and got him. We should know who we want. Even going through an interview process says, “we’re clueless”. Waggott and Pasha? Oh dear! Expecting a long, drawn out process, with agents bypassing it and going directly to Venkys, (happened before), and then one or two underwhelming or quite possibly terrible appointments. As I said, I would love to be wrong.
  6. I’m not, Chaddy. Think of me as the opposite of yourself. I know you always want to think positively and be optimistic about the club and the decisions it makes, which is fine. However, after the last eleven and a half years, and all the evidence within that time, I’m afraid I’m just unable to see it that way. I’m sure plenty of people feel the same as me. Believe me, I’m really hoping they surprise me. If the club knew what it was doing we’d have gone all out for the likes of Farke, (and Webber), or Dyche. It’s just a muddle because the owners are clueless and there is no-one competent or empowered making the decisions in England.
  7. Unfortunately, I think the Director of Football / Head Coach idea makes it likely we will make two terrible appointments, rather than just the one. Will also likely rule out any hope of a decent Head Coach, as it will put plenty off. At a club which knows what it's doing it would be different.
  8. That does not necessarily mean he will be a great head coach / manager. History provides plenty of examples of great players failing to make the grade as managers. Lincoln passed on him, so they weren't confident.
  9. Carrick now meets our criteria, ie someone rejected by a League One club.
  10. Agreed. Fills me with little hope of a decent appointment. Results are of secondary importance. That can’t be right.
  11. Yes, I think he’s learned to keep his fascism private 😂 He was retweeting random Tommy Robinson tweets, (enough said). He was supportive of Kean, but I think that’s understandable as he still played for the club at that time. He was also generally active on Twitter in support of Mowbray during death spirals.
  12. Wouldn’t surprise me. Quite possible that the cowboys nominally running the show in England wanted shot of Mowbray, but the Indians vetoed it. This is the whole problem with the set up and has been since the day they took over.
  13. Leeds have got ‘relegation’ written all over them. Clueless, reckless and rudderless.
  14. To be clear, I don’t want him to get the job, but at least it would be interesting and entertaining, (ie when he starts blowing a gasket 😂). Im sure I read an article a while ago stating that he was ready to leave Everton to try his hand as a manager. I think it would be curtains for lemon drizzle cake day at Brockhall 🙂
  15. I lost all affection and respect for him when he started re-tweeting Tommy Robinson’s tweets. He’s also a sycophant, like Gallacher.
  16. Grayson? Oh my God!!! Sacked from his last three jobs at League One clubs. F*ck me, I give up if he gets it.
  17. Ainsworth has got results at a club with scant resources, no reserve team and certainly no youth set up of the type that Rovers managers can cherry pick from. I'm sure he would promote players from the academy IF they are good enough. He hasn't brainwashed supporters with talk of a journey or how he is there to develop young players. He does what he is paid for.
  18. Sorry for posting off topic in the food and wine thread, but who is the Mercer 10P on for next manager?
  19. Bet you wouldn't dare say that to his face 😉 I think Ferguson will leave Everton to cut his teeth as a manager. I wouldn't want him, but knowing our lot we will end up with Darren Ferguson. Meanwhile, with Leeds all set for the drop, our ex, Tony, is on standby for the call to lead triumphantly back to the Premier League.
  20. No doubt his phone will be ringing non stop with calls from ambitious Championship clubs, ready to offer him a huge transfer bounty in the quest for promotion. Or maybe it will just be the monkey hangers. Now that would be funny.
  21. Fully agree, but it’s for the club to announce his departure, and crack on with appointing a new manager. All happening at the usual snail’s pace because Venkys don’t employ a fully functioning, competent CEO at Rovers.
  22. To be fair, this is on the owners, not Mowbray. The latest example of how poorly the club is run.
  23. Well, according to Mr Nixon, there is still no plan. He just told you as much on Twitter. Do Venky’s even know the season’s ended?
