  1. I’d say on this it’s the other way round. Mowbray isn’t perfect, but you have to take each situation individually, and on this one I don’t think he’s done a lot wrong. You, Rev and others want to dig him out for everything.
  2. Literally same interview we’re discussing he said Hedges isn’t a replacement for Rothwell. You seem to have very selective hearing regards this subject.
  3. You and I are not privy to Rovers transfer discussions or plans…. So this is purely conjecture. He also said Joe Rothwell will NOT be leaving unless we get replacements in.
  4. I’d sack Park on the spot if we didn’t have options lined up. A player with 4 months on his deal and clubs interested?!?!? Get real about the players thoughts on Rothwell…. But let’s be realistic, there’s no way we’ve considered a single replacement for him 🙄
  5. Obviously. They can’t very well release a statement saying “available to the highest bidder”. Every player has his price, end of discussion. If a club has met Rothwell’s price, we should sell, or at the very least consider the offer and the further options to strengthen the squad. Stubbornly sticking your fingers in your ears is something the owners have done for years, and it’s not very often resulted in the best course of action for the club.
  6. You and seemingly the bloody owners are taking none of the following in to accounts; 1. The fee offered and whether it is a good offer for a player with 4 months left on his contract. 2. Rothwell’s thoughts and whether he will continue to perform if he stays with the club. 3. The player(s) lined up as his replacement 4. The dressing room and how they feel about him coming back into the fold after all this. The best person to make all of those judgements is the manager, and perhaps Waggot. Not the owners and not their pet, Suhail. You might not like Mowbray, but he’s there to make decisions about the squad of players. The owners are stupid if they don’t listen to their self appointed manager. Unless of course they’ve decided he won’t be there past June.
  7. Well, we didn’t stay the same did we…. We replaced our combative midfielder with a ‘striker’ (don’t actually know what he is), totally exposing our two best players. No wonder we lost the midfield, we only had two players in it… and neither of them are naturally defensively minded. Absurd decision from the manager and one he needs to learn from really, really quickly if we’re to keep pace this season.
  8. The Nyambe handball vs Preston sticks out in my mind
  9. The best moment we created in the second half came from him being further up the pitch and zipping a ball in to BBD so that Edun could get around on the outside. Him and Rothwell are our two best players at the moment and we destroyed them tonight for the opportunity to play Gallagher.
  10. Possibly you're right, but I don't think the ref would have sent him off for it.
  11. I always refer to the 'Samba in the League cup semi final vs Villa' example for this one. Genuine attempt to get the ball punished twice i.e. Penalty and red card - 2 nil up, 25mins in and the game got destroyed. I was livid that night and argued with my non-Rovers uni mates that it was a completely absurd rule back then. Anyway, double jeopardy rule has come in since then so unless I'm mistaken, genuine attempts to tackle the player in the box is no longer a red card offence. Might be wrong.....
  12. Yeh, so I think the confusing bit was Mowbray's decision to change a highly successful shape to the complete detriment of our own team, not that nobody could recognise what was going on. Game finished almost two hours ago and I'm still absoutely amazed at his decision to play Buckley and Rothwell as holding midfielders. I'd LOVE him to explain that one. In fact, if Sharpe or any other journo is reading this it should be their first question to TM whenever they get chance. Bollocks to asking about referees and penalties... That just invites platitudes and clichés and detracts from the fact TM got it badlu wrong to start with.
  13. I've felt like this all season but this group have a knack of proving us wrong! They deserve our support for an unbelievable season so far and Ewood should be rocking on Monday night. If this is the start of a slump then it won't be for lack of effort or endeavour. Just do us all a favour Tony and stick to the shape that's got us where we currently are!
  14. Isn't the double jeopardy rule in place to avoid straight red cards for penalties? Of course excluding zero attempt to get the ball i.e. Shirt pull etc
  15. Why are we playing two wingers/wide attackers all of a sudden?!?! We haven't done that for at least two months and we've taken 26 points from a possible 30.... I feel like I've gone back in time!
  16. It bloody confused me after 10 games unbeaten and arguably our most creative players completely exposed in a two man midfield. It was clear as day after 5 minutes it was a disaster.
  17. This is exactly what I can't understand. Davenport must be wondering what he has to do. He must be abysmal in training!
  18. What shape? The manager blew that at about 6.45pm when the team was announced. Absolutely Crackers.
  19. Disasterclass tonight from the manager. Talked before the game about not taking opposition lightly, and sends us out without a recognised holding midfielder. Catastrophe. Big test for this group now vs Boro and Luton
  20. Buckley has played the pass for our two big opportunities, not sure exactly why you've singled him out. Bloody Mowbray has stifled him and Rothwell by making the bizarre decision to play without a defensive midfielder. He's shoehorned Gallagher in and unbalanced us because of it. Change it now, take Gally off and put Davenport on, allow Buckley and Rothwell to take the shackles off a little bit.
  21. Thank God Venky's bought us, eh?
  22. Exclusive 😂 What a story. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41219627 - Crystal Palace sack De Boer... 7 games in to his tenure. Employ Hodgson to save them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47195701 - Everton sack Marco Silva 18th in the league. Appoint a world renowned manager, sign James Rodrigues and finish..... 9th https://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/articles/2008/09/05/keegan_resigns_0908_feature.shtml Keegan leaves Newcastle 7 months after replacing Allardyce. Relegated end of that season. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/39761704 Sunderland relegated 12 months after Allardyce kept them up (quite miraculously). Not sure your argument holds much water....
  23. May 2010 - 10th placed finish in the PL..... December 2010 - Sack Allardyce.... cue great delight of BRFC4EVA and others... Long Live Venkys! May 2011 - Survive on last day of the season after dropping like a stone down the league. May 2012 - Relegated.... cue, 'Well we didn't know they'd appoint Kean... it's not our fault.... VENKYS OUT' But those fans who thought it was shortsighted to sack him are the fools. Amazing stuff. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. You can prattle on all you like about 'who should have been appointed', but whenever you sack a manager there is an element of risk. When you sack a manager less than a month after buying the club, with no prior experience in the sport and against the extremely sound advice of the chairman.... well, it's an accident waiting to happen. But YOU celebrated it. FOOL.
  24. Do you remember the bit with Harry Redknapp where he told an agent that he really liked Andy Todd, and they tried to construe it as 'tapping up'. That was a terrible programme - revealed absolutely nothing. I seem to remember Alex Ferguson took up a 7 or 8 year Boycott of the BBC after the programme also made allegations against Darren.
