  1. I saw Mick Mcarthy tucking into a big Mac and fries at Ewood McDonald's this evening
  2. If Pearce comes in at least we won't have to buy a replacement for Brererton he will have Kaminski marked down for that role
  3. Iv seen a few people on FB and Twitter saying he applied for it, wouldnt take many throwing a few quid on him on the back of those posts to see him move up in the betting
  4. Seems Venus is definitely going. The gist of the telegraph article earlier suggests a new manager won't be forced to keep the staff on. If Lowe and Benson are still under contract it makes little sense to terminate their contracts until a new man is in place. Whoever the new man is may want someone familiar with the club in recent times to be part of his team
  5. A couple of people putting small bets on him will improve his odds. The odds at the bookies mean nothing until you see someone going strong odds on favourite
  6. Carter looks to have a knack of scoring a few goals aswell.Hopefully that will continue at championship level
  7. Portsmouth CEO reckons Rovers have big plans for Carter and a permanent deal to Pompey won't be happening
  8. Lee Johnson taking the Hibs job so we can breath easy it won't be him who replaces Mowbray
  9. I do not think they genuinely care or have become competent. But if you look throughout their reign they have put money in for the squad and then stop put money in and then stop I know we disagree about it and I do agree with a lot of the points you make about them as iv said previously including the pitch and state of the stadium but up until the pandemic they were putting money in and backing the manager even last season 12 players, yes loans but you add it all together wages and fee it all adds up.All clubs well most tightened their belts when the pandemic hit.The ones who spend have sold a player , parachute payment and are run properly and don't have the dwindling fan base that we have And when we came down our parachute payment and whatever else spent was wasted.Players signed on ridiculous contracts and we had to pay most of them off, or they stayed around and put the bibs out. It wouldn't surprise me if money was made available and they did have a change of tact and go with a more expensive foreign manager like Carvahal. At least the club this season have managed to get new contracts sorted for a few without going into their last year so hopefully that is a sign they have took an interest again because as much as we can wish for it they don't look like they are going anywhere
  10. Fair play to him.Sad to say in this day and age but he has shown a lot of courage and will no doubt suffer abuse because of it
  11. We were also told by Mowbray that Rothwell , Nyambe and Lenihen would be leaving the club. Also been said we not offering enough money. Yet Nyambe and Lenihen remain in talks with the club if it was just a money thing and we weren't close or for budging I'm sure we would have had the same social media posts as we got from Rothwell
  12. It's my opinion Mowbrays future hinged on promotion or at least making the top 6. Iv no idea what was said between Mowbray and the owners regarding his future but up until the eve of the Bournemouth game when asked Mowbray always said he wasn't worried about it....talk at the end of the season etc. I'm sure in similar circumstances other owners would have wanted to see how the season played out, not announce the manager would be leaving when however unlikely still a chance of making the play offs and getting promotion.
  13. I'm not just going off the fact there been a break down in communication but also what Glen Mullan said, that his source reckons be no HSH involvement in the manager appointment. Obviously things can change and like you say they have previous so could happen.
  14. I'm not saying you are wrong but how can you be so sure there has been no forward planning? Other posters claim they have heard from people we have been talking with managers? Are QPR or any other club looking at managers giving daily updates on how the process is going? What was the club statement meant to say "We have held informal talks with a number of managers"..."We have a shortlist" etc. If the owners are taking a more Pro active role in the selection of a manager like Glen Mullan suggested then local media will know nothing about it. Like Chaddy has said it's been 5 years since Mowbray appointed and toward the end seemingly the owners cut communication with him so Id say it's more than likely we will be moving away from the HSH stable.
  15. And who did we sell to fund the Gallagher and Brererton signings? All clubs since the pandemic have tightened their belts.Up until covid Mowbray had funds to spend Some funds should have been made available from the Armstrong sale but it don't help that the manager admitted he had the scope to bring in a forward in January but he believed it wasn't needed
  16. Because it's been 5 years and they stopped communicating with Mowbray a Hsh man and let him go. Glen Mullan who has usually been bang on with his info reckons they won't be going with a Hsh man this time. Looking at HSH list of managers let's hope he is right
  17. No but informal discussions could be happening. According to Glen Mullan who in all fairness has been right plenty of times with information he has shared the club and Farke had talks way back in March.
  18. Thought Lincoln appointed Mark Kennedy? Was number 2 for Bowyer at Brum
  19. He was shit his first two seasons nobody can dispute that but I'd argue previous to joining us he had made 56 appearances for Forest by the age of 19 and did command an 8 million fee that doesn't happen if you have shown nothing. He will be a huge loss and our wage limit will mean a gamble replacing him even if the owners are prepared to pay a significant fee to replace him
  20. Whoever we appoint as manager will indicate what sort of budget we have this season. A Carvahal or Farke wouldn't be taking over without a decent budget especially when they will be forced to sell our top scorer. If it's Grayson or someone like that then the budget will be minimal again. Although I think Ainsworth could do a decent job I think if he is appointed the budget will be poor
  21. The transfer embargo didn't help Bowyer one bit.He had to navigate an embargo through 2 or 3 windows. He finished 8th in his second season here, it took Mowbray 5 seasons to do that. When not under an embargo Bowyer did some very good work in the transfer market Cairney, Gestede, Duffy brought in for next to nothing. All sold on for profits.
  22. Shebby Singh was the man who brought them to the club.Thought Portugal had a lot of talent coming through
  23. I never said I think the new man is getting serious funds. I disagree that no decent manager would be willing to join us. It wasn't a lifetime ago either it was pre pandemic, since the pandemic most clubs have cut back on their spending.Mowbray wasn't alone in having his budget cut. I asked you to name the clubs that have kept spending money in this division (excluding the parachute payment clubs). You keep making out that Mowbray had an impossible job here and was hard done by which I don't agree with. Who gets 5 years these days?He was never forced to sell a player.5 years and only 2 players of value sold in that time David Raya who Mowbray didn't particularly rate and Armstrong who only had 1 year left on his contract.
