  1. W Disappointing but surely the club will have been sounding out other clubs and players anyway?Well that's what most normal clubs would do.
  2. He has not joined another club.Once we have a striker in by deadline day I am not bothered if they miss the Boro game if the right player is brought in, and in my opinion out of all the players linked I feel Obafemi is the best of them.
  3. Most of the contracts that have been run down have been players we haven't wanted to keep and couldn't sell them because of the deals they were on here. All the players we signed after relegation from the premier League, and Mowbray handed out new contracts like sweets when we got promoted from League one to ageing and substandard players. Can only think of Mahoney in recent times that I was gutted at losing on a free and he hasn't done too well since leaving here.King before him but again he wasn't a regular in the side.
  4. You don't know that Nyambes refusal to sign a new contract is down to money though. He has had spells out of the side every season and in my opinion Mowbray doesn't seem to rate him as highly as I do. I agree we need to be more pro active but just disagree with you that it's as simple as just giving whatever player what they want to get them signed up.Its great in theory to say get em signed up and we can sell them down the line.It doesn't always work out like that and due to the pandemic, transfer fees of significance will be seen less and less at this level and below. And maybe the club are realising they have made mistakes. We have signed two of our brighter prospects in Buckley and Carter to long term deals this summer
  5. Not if he goes abroad though, and if he performs for Chile it wouldn't be a surprise to see Spanish teams take an interest
  6. Of course I agree totally that the owners and the people on the ground have alienated a large portion of the fan base. But it's the reality of the situation we are in and despite what some others say ffp is real and can't just be ignored. If the pricing became more sensible we would see more in the ground but I don't think it would make much of a dent in the wages to turnover ratio especially if we just give our players what they ask for. I actually think the owners have invested Money into the club not just covered losses.Certainly in the early days of the championship handing out ridiculous contracts and Mowbray has had money every single summer he has been here. The money been distributed stupidly though and again comes down to the owners not putting competent people on the ground
  7. IV told you before the way the club is managed from top to bottom is a joke.I do not disagree with you on that. The problem I have with your posting is you stick the boot into the club over things that you think with no evidence to support it or you dig them out over things that clearly aint true, like what you said the other day that this summer will be the same as every other summer and no money will be spent.Despite Mowbray being backed every single summer since he has been here You make it sound so simple, plucking figures out of the air when you have no idea like the rest of us how much these players want . Nyambe should have been done long ago, but have to question whether the manager actually rates him (he leaves him out at every opportunity) I don't agree with that but it's the reality. Do you think Rothwell is deserving of a contract that would put him in line with the top earners at the club if that's the sort of money he wants? Not for me, although will say we are starting to see a bit more end product now. Like another poster said if we had given Brererton a new deal last year the majority wouldn't have been happy with that. Lenihen been at the club for years and might fancy a change.Again we don't know what sort of money he wants. We are not unique here, other clubs are experiencing the same problems.
  8. It will be on the low side but still doesn't take away from the fact we are spending far more money than the club is bringing in. We don't know how much these player's want.Nyambes situation is a joke but would love to know how much Rothwell is wanting. He has started the season well but his time here he has been inconsistent and not one of our better players, for me doesn't warrant becoming one of our highest earners if that is the sort of money he wants
  9. Easier said than done.Have you seen many permanent deals done in the championship. If Obafemi Is the best option available and he hasn't said no then we should not be walking away. You were saying all summer we wouldn't be bringing in permanent signings even with Armstrong sold, and Mowbray himself up until Armstrong was nearly out the door didn't know if he would be able to spend any of that money. I know you see to want Healy brought in but again he is 6 years older than Obafemi and up to this point his goals have come in league one and the French second division.
  10. Still haven't answered me over what you said the other day about how this summer will be the same as every summer and no money will be spent and no players brought in? Agree the contract situation isn't ideal but look at our wages to turnover, something has to be done about this. What do you suggest?
  11. It's been 11 days since we sold Armstrong so it hasn't been more than a couple of weeks since we agreed a fee for Obafemi.
  12. We wouldn't get permits for most of them now to be fair Couple of posters have mentioned the club being interested in Rhys Healey, think even the telegraph mentioned him a while back one of them said.Playing in the French second division
  13. Obafemi would just replace Dolan,we need someone who will get us goals,Obafemi won't get as many as Arma but he is a lot stronger, and from the games IV seen him in and the clips iv seen his link up play as good aswell.Id be more confident in Obafemi scoring the goals we need than Dembele. We don't need Brereton, Gallagher and another lanky player. We need to accept that Mowbray will always play Gallagher and Brererton as "wide strikers" if Dembele comes in he will go into Dolans position
  14. Hopefully Armstrong is having a word in Obafemis ear snd telling him it would be a good move. Honestly think he would be a bargain at the prices quoted and going off Sharpe and the telegraph the wage he Is on at Southampton is in line with what we pay our players
  15. He hasnt gone anywhere else Chaddy, not every transfer happens instantly. It is a big decision and I don't blame him for taking his time and not signing instantly for the first club to agree a fee for him . It's been a couple of weeks
  16. Has Obafemi gone anywhere else? Mowbray didn't even know he would see any of the Armstrong money until he was nearly out the door. How do you know Healy wants to come here. Its a big decision for Obafemi and with all due respect you have no idea if Obafemi has spoken to Mowbray. How do you know that a telephone conversation hasn't been had? For us to be still interested then there must be some inclination that a deal can be done.If Obafemi was fully against coming here then surely him or his representatives would thanks but no thanks.
  17. You don't know that .He is weighing up his options which is what any other player would do in his position.
  18. Yes and Obafemi is clearly at the top of that shortlist.Like I said whatever new striker we get wont be available for West Brom anyway and only one other game against Boro before the window shuts .
  19. Exactly plus he is only 20 he will mature, and that interview he did suggests he realises he needs to knuckle down and be more professional. I don't think Dembele would be a bad option but his record suggests he isn't a prolific goalscorer and at 24 he is 4 years older than Obafemi. IV not seen anything of Healey apart from highlights from YouTube and although he looks like he knows where the back of the net is,the majority of his career has been spent in league 1 and the French second division and he is 6 years older than Obafemi
  20. I don't agree that Mowbray should drop his interest in Obafemi just because he is taking his time over making a decision over his future. It's a big choice, he could live or die in terms of his career development with his next move. Its not everyone's dream to play for Blackburn Rovers, he will have other interest and do not blame him for taking his time . We will have no new striker for West Brom anyway and only one other game before the end of the transfer window and the International break. We will be making enquiries over other strikers anyway In the event the Obafemi deal doesn't hsppen I would prefer Obafemi to any of the other strikers we have been linked with personally.
  21. Gary Cahill having a medical at Bournemouth.Good signing if it goes through
  22. Yeah Barry Fry did say that but he isn't going to say he is available, they will want the best price possible. He is out of contract at the end of the season if they get an offer of a couple of million can see them selling, wether we will be in the race to sign him I have no idea
  23. Obafemi deal not dead https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19524104.latest-blackburn-rovers-interest-michael-obafemi/
  24. They said be two weeks before he was back and I think that was last week. Perhaps the centre back from City
