  1. Markanday isn't a striker if JDT plans on playing 4-2-3-1 then we will only really have Gallagher who can play the lone front man role and even if you feel Gallagher has the goals in him he still picks up an awful lot of niggles and misses quite a few games. I think it will be madness not to sign another striker if Brererton Is off. Agree defence is a priority aswell but we definitely need a goalscorer if Brererton leaves as expected.
  2. Norwich were turning down £20 million bids from Aston Villa last summer. They had asked for 11 million from Bournemouth for a deal to be made permanent this summer. Il presume Cantwell is on more money than any of our players. I appreciate that his Value will have come down but still feel this is a deal that is very unlikely to happen.I don't believe that Cantwell will sign on here for less money just because he knew Broughton when he was 15/16
  3. Last year some papers were saying we would accept 10 million for Arma.
  4. Will markanday not have a start there? Like I say Cantwell is decent but we can't go spending most our budget on him. Norwich wanted 11 Million to sell him permanently to Bournemouth.Even if they were to sell him for 5 or 6 that's likely to be our whole budget.
  5. Cantwell would be a decent signing but shouldn't be a priority. If the budget is once again minimal then be daft to blow the majority of it on Cantwell. A number 9, Centre back, Central midfield and Right back(if Nyambe leaves)should be the priority imo.
  6. I agree that it's not the way to do things but come on we ain't the only club that does this.It happens regularly that staff are kept on at clubs after the manager departs. Ferguson at Everton being one.Parkes here and there will be many more coaching staff that have been kept on at other clubs.
  7. Carss going to Villa as head of youth according to Nixon
  8. Park is going at the end of this month
  9. But surely you announce him and add subject to be a work permit being granted. I know we have seen some daft things at the club but surely after 5 weeks of a managerial search surely we have done our due diligence and know wether JDT meets the criteria for a work permit or not. Read Kompanys isn't all to do with work permit issues he was applied for citizenship apparently
  10. Presumably all that would have been discussed in the interview and for him to agree to take the job (if he has) then he must be comfortable working with a Dof above him ? It's not like he was already in situ and a Dof has been brought in over his head.
  11. The Dof is English and counts Norwich and Luton amongst his previous clubs in a recruitment role so he does have experience over here albeit he will be in a new role at Ewood
  12. JDT with Graham Hunter Till he is announced don't think it is a done deal.We have had a few "it's definitely going to be this fella" since this farce of a process began. Sharpe said they had outlined a 3 year deal never mentioned anything about him being offered the job and as far as I can see no other media outlet is saying he has been offered the job, and if Waggott was still interviewing as late as last week and then it has to go to India do we really believe a decision will have been made this quickly? I see he has gone to 1/4 on sky bet but that could easily be due to people jumping the gun when at 4/6 to get the job. Unless someone can say they have spoken to the Indians and they have confirmed a contract has been offered to JDT and he has accepted then it still could be anyone as far as I'm concerned and I mean no disrespect to anyone who is saying they have heard from someone they trust but come on lads that's been said on a load of occasions for it not to happen
  13. Wonder if JDT will put on the back burner now. My source is telling me that Balaji has a private jet on stand by for Pochettino to fly to Pune for talks once his departure from PSG is confirmed
  14. Did you still go when a guy who left his previous club bottom of league was announced?
  15. Yeah Obafemi looks a talent, was good 2nd half of season for Swansea last season. Can see him being amongst the higher goalscorers in the division next season. In fairness to Mowbray I do think he can spot a good young player
  16. Markanday is meant to be pacy.Hopefully he can fill the Khadra void and give us the same outlet but you are right we do need more pace in the team. Hope we reignite our interest in Styles at Barnsley he can carry the ball like Rothwell
  17. Not sure.Anyway with the way this process is going there will probably be a new favourite tomorrow and JDT will be forgotten about
  18. I get your point but JDT has lived in England when he was a player for Newcastle
  19. Should be looking to improve on last season's 8th place? It won't be the same team that achieved 8th place last season. Lenihen and Rothwell already gone from that team.Nyambe and Brererton most likely to follow. That's 4 of our better players gone ,including Club captain and our top scorer.Add Khadra and Van Hecke. 6 players from our strongest 11 last season gone.Whoever the new man Is he has a big rebuild on his hands can't see us being near playoff contention next season
  20. If asked 12 months ago would have been against Rooney but the way he handled the situation at Derby has changed my mind We should go for him, his name alone will give us an edge when trying to recruit younger players. Would like Rosenior to come with him but apparently in talks with Blackpool
  21. So why has Pardew spent the majority of his managerial career in the Premier league whilst Mowbray has spent one season there? I don't want Pardew but he has been more successful than Mowbray as a manager
  22. I'd agree in general leaks and people picking up genuine info has declined and a lot of false stuff gets said but there are a few on here that I do think have genuine insight into some of what is going behind the scenes and unleaded is definitely one of those for me , he has been bang on the money lot of the time.He clearly isn't looking for attention or anything like that either as he posts the info and very rarely discusses it further. I'd agree with Knutson that the link is only coming due to the dof being at Glint but if we are looking at league one managers which we very likely are then Warne and Ainsworth would be looked at .I know Rotherham and that journo say no contact but it happens all the time with managers talking to other clubs behind their own clubs back. Hopefully we will find out soon enough but it's looking like it will be another unambitious appointment.Think Warne and Ainsworth have done good jobs but was hoping for better ,I'd much prefer either of those two than a Ferguson or a Carrick
  23. How do you know Warne isn't on the table?Because he says so in the interview?A manager has never told fibs? Has unleaded ever given bad info on here?I can't recall him posting something on here that didn't turn out to be true.If he says Ainsworth has been interviewed I'd tend to believe it.
  24. When was the last time we sold a first team player that came through the academy? Raya I think. We would have had interest in some of the others these past few yearsv
