  1. Should be looking to improve on last season's 8th place? It won't be the same team that achieved 8th place last season. Lenihen and Rothwell already gone from that team.Nyambe and Brererton most likely to follow. That's 4 of our better players gone ,including Club captain and our top scorer.Add Khadra and Van Hecke. 6 players from our strongest 11 last season gone.Whoever the new man Is he has a big rebuild on his hands can't see us being near playoff contention next season
  2. If asked 12 months ago would have been against Rooney but the way he handled the situation at Derby has changed my mind We should go for him, his name alone will give us an edge when trying to recruit younger players. Would like Rosenior to come with him but apparently in talks with Blackpool
  3. So why has Pardew spent the majority of his managerial career in the Premier league whilst Mowbray has spent one season there? I don't want Pardew but he has been more successful than Mowbray as a manager
  4. I'd agree in general leaks and people picking up genuine info has declined and a lot of false stuff gets said but there are a few on here that I do think have genuine insight into some of what is going behind the scenes and unleaded is definitely one of those for me , he has been bang on the money lot of the time.He clearly isn't looking for attention or anything like that either as he posts the info and very rarely discusses it further. I'd agree with Knutson that the link is only coming due to the dof being at Glint but if we are looking at league one managers which we very likely are then Warne and Ainsworth would be looked at .I know Rotherham and that journo say no contact but it happens all the time with managers talking to other clubs behind their own clubs back. Hopefully we will find out soon enough but it's looking like it will be another unambitious appointment.Think Warne and Ainsworth have done good jobs but was hoping for better ,I'd much prefer either of those two than a Ferguson or a Carrick
  5. How do you know Warne isn't on the table?Because he says so in the interview?A manager has never told fibs? Has unleaded ever given bad info on here?I can't recall him posting something on here that didn't turn out to be true.If he says Ainsworth has been interviewed I'd tend to believe it.
  6. When was the last time we sold a first team player that came through the academy? Raya I think. We would have had interest in some of the others these past few yearsv
  7. Agree that he is asking the questions but not getting anywhere but he is very rarely critical of the club and he should be calling the club out a little, the papers customers a good proportion will be Rovers fans and although I don't don't expect the finer details some sort of comment from the club is in order Other journalists in the past have made it their business to find a source/sources.Local journos at other clubs don't publish self opinion pieces daily or yesterday's news
  8. When Mowbray probably had as good a budget as Warne and Ainsworth at league one level he left Coventry bottom of league one. I'd agree Ainsworth or Warne would be underwhelming if compared to a Farke or Carvahal but both would be better appointments than the has beens that have come before. Yeah they both have it to prove in this division but it would have been a miracle Ainsworth keeping Wycombe in the division with the budget they have and to get them to the championship in the first place was an outstanding achievement.
  9. Nixon being his usual cryptic self. When asked about the time it taking to appoint a manager and the shambles its becoming his reply "you never know when an unexpected twist comes along"
  10. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/18783488/carlo-ancelotti-blackburn-rovers-everton-duncan-ferguson/
  11. Walsh did a great job at Leicester and terrible at Everton. Think that would be an interesting appointment
  12. Would definitely take Bilic...but would the club be willing to pay the salary he will be demanding? Plus pretty sure to get him a promise of a big Transfer budget would be required
  13. He posted he was going on holiday and would be on a phone ban and unlikely to be posting any updates
  14. How far have we fallen for Grayson to have turned down a 4 year deal here to go there
  15. If it was to happen now then I'd agree but no telling what Gerrard's career will have been like by the time Klopp leaves. The start has been promising,re built Rangers and it was the side he built that reached the Europa League final. Mediocre start at Villa but their early transfers this summer look promising.
  16. I dont think Lenihen will be signing a new deal if Mcarthy is appointed. Come on he has done nothing to warrant being a number 1 at Rovers. Nothing against the guy but I'd be less worried if we were bringing him in as a Brererton replacement rather than manager.
  17. Laughable if Mcarthy even gets a interview. Sad thing is iv seen some people suggest him on the supporters page on FB.
  18. The process once again isn't been run normally though. Why are we seemingly just focusing on the free agent market? Why after a few weeks in to a manager search are we not hearing that the club have approached clubs for permission to speak to their managers? It was claimed on here Mowbray was close to being potted a year ago yet seemingly no plan was in place as to who would be the preferred option when he did leave? Agree getting the best option is priority but from the outside looking in, it looks an absolute circus once again Couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery springs to mind
  19. Bad feeling we end up with Unsworth. If Farke and Carvahal are out of the running then pay the compensation it will take to bring Gary Rowett here.Failing that Critchley.
  20. There isnt a comparison to be made between Farke and Mowbray. Mowbray had a promotion 15 years ago the rest of his career it's been mediocrity or Failure.
