  1. 8 million on Brererton and 5 million on Gallagher is bargain basement? Pre pandemic Mowbray had money to work with a LOT more than most in this division. With the exception of the parachute payment clubs name me the clubs that have spent good money in the championship since the pandemic? If the owners were to pay the money then managers would join regardless of their reputation. The problem is they have always gone for the cheaper option it isn't the case that a raft of high profile managers have turned the job down
  2. No Apart from the month at the end of last season . Bowyer had windows of it
  3. Watford sack their manager every 5 minutes but don't have a problem replacing them. ££££ talks, if they pay the money they will get someone decent. Mowbray just had 5 years here, plenty of managers would find that attractive.
  4. Bowyer had a transfer embargo to deal with
  5. Still there.Read at the weekend fans not happy with him as he wants time off during the transfer window to train for climbing Everest
  6. Where they Farkes signings though?Or were those players identified and signed by Webber? He plays good football and works well with youth and would have him down as my favourite to get the job, but he won't have the infastructure he had behind him at Norwich here.Webber had a major role in terms of recruitment at Norwich.
  7. Who knows what will happen? It's not like they have never gone and spent money. When we got promoted from League one I'm sure you would have been saying the same about them spending money, 12 months later 15 million spent on 3 and multiple other players brought in. Only 3 million recouped selling Raya. We can't predict what will happen this summer, spending has been stop/start since they bought us. It wouldn't shock me if the purse strings were opened again
  8. Why wait until the eve of the game v Bournemouth a game we had to win to have any chance of playoffs going into the final game? Prior to that when his future been brought up "his contract wasn't important" .."we will talk at the end of the season" Technically we could have still got promoted pre Bournemouth, is it so wrong if the owners wanted to wait and see if we made top 6/ got promoted before making a decision? I'm not defending the owners here as agreed they are a joke but Mowbray is no shining light and he made it about him pre Bournemouth when all the focus should have been on getting the 3 points needed. He should have been talking about his future at season end or when no chance of playoffs
  9. Below average wage budget? If you are referring to this season fair enough. But the previous 2 seasons we had the 10th and 15th highest wage budget in the league? They stopped backing him this summer.Prior to that he was backed. Not been forced to sell players and brought in multiple players every summer he has been here . This season he can moan about backing(not getting any of the Armstrong money). Previous to that he has been well backed, backed a whole lot more than a lot of clubs in this division
  10. I wouldn't want Cocu here but at the time he joined Derby it was a coup for them. He had been a player who had been involved at a high level.Been involved coaching with the Dutch national team.Managed Psv to two Dutch titles when Ajax had won the previous 4. He was being linked to take over at bigger clubs than Derby. It didn't work out for him in England and since PSV he has struggled but at the time Derby couldn't be unhappy with his appointment, in fact at the time he was appointed Derby fans were delighted with it going off their reaction on social media.
  11. Carter is contracted till 2024.He signed a 3 year deal in 2021
  12. Post pandemic he was given £15 million to spend on 3 attackers in the space of 12 months. 5 years here and hasn't been forced to sell a player, Raya he threw under the bus and Armstrong only had a year left on his deal. Owners signed off on a number of long term deals under his management for little or no return...Mulgrew , Bennett, Evans, Bradley Johnson, Ayala etc Since the pandemic he hasn't had the same sort of backing, but still lasy season 12 players came through the door through a mixture of loans and frees which still cost the club money. He can have a complaint this season that he wasn't given money from the Armstrong sale but apart from that he can have no complaints over the backing he has recieved. In it for himself imo.Talked the club down at every given opportunity.Going public with the Rothwell situation and then on the eve of the Bournemouth game decides to make it about him and his future when prior to that it was "we will see at the end of the season". It's a kop out him hiding behind our owners to explain away the terrible run we have had since January
  13. Agree to disagree. But I'm basing my opinion on his whole managerial career, not just his time here.It happened at Boro, at Coventry l, at Celtic. Just to be clear I am In total agreement with you the the owners are the major and main issue. But I do not blame the owners for Mowbrays short comings in terms of team selection , playing players out of position and his decision not to bring in an extra attacker in January. With the position we had gotten ourselves into and the kind fixtures we had remaining no way we should have been finishing outside the top 6.He should have changed things up when 3 at the back and the way we had been playing had been found out
  14. Yeah but all that still doesn't take away from the fact that throughout Mowbrays managerial career he struggles in the second half of the season at all his clubs. Rothwell wasn't denied a move last season and yet we still had a run of 2 wins in 17 matches. And the manager said he could have brought an attacker in in January but HE decided not too
  15. I seen someone on fb say that Nixon reported Carvahal, Farke , Ainsworth are in the frame and that Chris Hughton could get an interview
  16. Were the rest of the players sulking too? Because Van Hecke and Kaminski aside the rest had a drop in form. Quite clearly Mowbray has an issue when the opposition work out his tactics, as evidenced by his woeful results second half of season at all his clubs. I'm not Rothwells biggest fan but blaming our second half of the season form on his failure to be sold is nonsense imo. The managers failure to react to the opposition working us out is the reason we failed to make the playoffs
  17. His spells out of the side were only short lived because his replacements proved sub standard and he had no choice to put him back in. Give me one logical reason why first Bennett was put in at right back at the expense of Nyambe and then last season Costello put in ahead of Nyambe? If as you say nothing untoward, explain to me why Zeefuik was preferred on the bench the last 2 games?
  18. Travis and Carter also signed new long term deals. Of course we would have made the trio offers, but like you say could have been a minimal increase. Been speculated on here that we wouldn't offer Nyambe terms in line with first team regulars due to a policy of players that have come through the academy, that must have changed to see Travis sign on for another 4 years
  19. He doesn't always get it right. Two week ago he had Mike Ashley as the new owner of Birmingham City when it wasn't the case.
  20. But yet you would take Manning from Mk Dons if we are looking at the lower leagues? Ainsworth has at least managed at this level and the job he has done at Wycombe has been Excellent. I'd rather someone with proven pedigree at this level like a Farke but if we are looking at league one then Ainsworth has done as good a job as anyone in that division
  21. Taking Wycombe to the championship isn't impressive? He wouldn't be my first choice but the job he has done at Wycombe has been terrific
  22. Quite clearly the telegraph were wrong regarding Maja as he joined Stoke on loan only. With no obligation to sign him on a permanent. £2 million wasn't needed to sign him
  23. Luke Brennan confirms he is leaving the club.Been here 14 years.Nixon has him down as signing for Wigan. Joe Ferguson also to depart
  24. Agreed.Absolute joke he wasn't at least on the bench the last 2 games. We won't be signing Zeefuik so why was he on the bench yesterday ahead of Nyambe. Mowbray definitely has an issue with Nyambe
