We lost 11 players though.12 if you include Armstrong.We have talent in the under 23s but it's being extremely optimistic to think that 7..8..10..11..12 of those are going to come in and be ready or capable of playing at this level. Some of those would be better sent to league 1 or 2 to develop. I agree we need quality but we need numbers in.Some of the younger players in the academy's from the premier league will be more ready than our own

He would probably want to be up around our highest earners to renew and I agree his performances on a whole ain't deserving of that . On his day he can look class but those days don't come around too often

It would benefit some of the younger ones and the club long term if the likes of Vale, Garrett, Cirino , McBride and Carter(if we sign a center half) got loaned out for the season. Garrett looked very good against Leeds though,I hope he gets a start tonight

The most important renewals for me are Brererton and Nyambe.We paid a big fee for Ben and it would be absolutely sickening if he joined a team from abroad for nothing when he has started to grow into a good player. Think the ship has sailed with Rothwell.Lenihen has been at the club a long time and he might want a new challenge. Kaminski we have longer to sort out with us having a years option but hopefully we can get something sorted before he moves into his final year

The contract situation should be dealt with before anything else but that's not to say Obafemi would be a bad signing, although if he is costing us 6 mill then the money could be spent better. Southampton won't be getting nothing for him If his contract runs down though, it will go to tribunal and will easy get 4 million+ for him so we wouldn't be doing Southampton any favours and if Nixon is correct we ain't the only club interested in him. On your last paragraph I disagree from what Mowbray was saying yesterday looks like the club have decided to spend some money on permanent signings

He has to agree to the move , Southampton can't force him.He is out of contract next season. Maybe he will look at Armstrong and see how the move to Rovers worked out for him

Oh you haven't heard of him must be a bad player then. Armstrong wanted premier league football ,yes he should have been tied down to a longer contract and we should have got more money for him but after the season he had he was always going to leave

If that's the case then Armstrong can't put pen to paper until the Obafemi situation is resolved.Southampton will want Armstrong for the weekend so we shouldn't be waiting long to find out if Obafemi is coming here or not

Of course.But he is a player with a lot of potential.Scoring premier league goals v United and Chelsea.Iv seen a few times for both Ireland and Southampton and if we can get him in I feel he will be a good signing for the club . Wages could be an issue though

How?He is out of contract at the end of the season and can go where he wants. If we only get him on loan and he does any good he won't be here next season
