  1. Is the ex Preston North End physio replacing him or does Mowbray have a mate looking for work?
  2. Especially since they have already sold Buendia to Villa and Cantwell being linked with a move to Villa their two most creative players. If we get a deal worth 18 million for a player with only a year left on his contract then it's a good deal I think. Ings had only 1 year left in his contract and moved for £25 million according to sky sports and he is a proven premier league player where Armstrong is not and is why I thought waiting for 20 million + bids for Armstrong was pie in the sky
  3. That tweet suggest permanent, when Nixon said they will want a large fee for him I took that to mean it will be permanent?
  4. You were adamant a couple of hours ago that the Venkys weren't letting Mowbray bring any players in
  5. Danny ings gone to Villa.Southampton might improve their Armstrong bid niw
  6. I don't know who id sign it isn't my job to identify targets only thing I know both Magloire and Carter haven't yet shown they can do it at championship level ,yet Harwood Bellis came in on loan and took to this level like a duck to water at 18. I want our young players given chances but the likes of Magloire and Carter shouldn't yet be relied upon when the senior part of the team is average and we will be in a battle at the bottom end of the table
  7. It's you who is saying we won't even make loan signings.I don't believe that .Loan players will be brought in. Also you are now saying "Venkys have to agree everything" .Yet earlier in the window you were shouting everyone down telling us all that Mowbray had agreed the budget when someone posted a negative post about our lack of activity in the transfer market. We have one senior centre back fit in Lenihen.
  8. Unless Phili or other posters are in contact with Venkys then they are going off what has been said to them by someone at the club and as we all know nobody knows what the Venkys will do. Also Phili didn't say in that post that Venkys said no to any signings, he said Venkys said no to agreeing to Reach's wages. We will bring players in on loan deals.
  9. Then why is Mowbray,Sharpe and Crooke still talking about loan players coming in? Carter did well but like I just said it was league one not championship. If we go the season with Lenihen,Ayala , Magloire and Carter then we are in trouble
  10. How do you know this?Could it not be that Reach decided to go to West Brom instead of us?Not seen anything anywhere were it was said the Venkys said no to the deal? Also if we can't make any signings at all why did the owners allow a new head of recruitment to come in? And on Carter yes he did well at Burton but that was in league one Chaddy.I think he is a good prospect but last time he played Championship he clearly wasn't ready.Id like to see him get opportunities but wouldnt want to go into the season with Lenihen, Ayala, Carter and Magloire as our only options until Wharton is fit.
  11. Big if that though.Last season we were riddled with injuries
  12. Losing most weeks and potentially getting relegated won't be good for our youngsters either. It's not ideal, and it isn't the way I want things but if we can find loans that are better than what we have then they need adding . Carter although a good prospect and did well in league one last year he was totally out of his depth when given the chance last time. It's similar with the other young players we have, agreed they need chances but we need a few players in
  13. What about staying up?We have already lost our main creator Elliot and are likely to lose our only consistent goalscorer. If we could guarantee that everyone would stay fit then I can see us staying up as there are worse in the league. But if we have a season like last year with injuries we will end up having to use the youngsters who are nowhere near ready.
  14. The squad finished 15th last season with the highest assist maker in the league in Elliot and the 2nd top scorer who most likely won't be here either come 31st of August. Mowbray won't be here next year with any luck so I don't want him being given the money to bring in permanent players but the squad definitely needs adding too. Although I think we have some very good prospects, the loans Elliot and Harwood Bellis are a class above to what we have and I'm more concerned about staying in this league next year so we will be able to attract someone half decent rather than starting again in league one.Our youngsters will get chances to play next season regardless of who we bring in anyway
  15. I wouldn't give him money to make cash signings but feel with the way our players get injured every other week we could do with a few coming in on loan. I'm with you that he shouldn't be given the funds to bring in permanent players when fingers crossed he will not be here next season and the new man won't have to spend his time trying to find new homes for whatever ageing ,injury prone player Mowbray decides to hand a 3 year deal too
  16. So you are satisfied to go into the season with the squad we have?
  17. Clarkson from Liverpool is a target according to Sharpe and Cooke. Garner did well at Forest if they are keen on taking him back then I'd say they will be favourites. Whowever we bring in on loan let's just hope they are more like Elliot and Harwood Bellis than Trybull and Braintwaithe
  18. Then why agree to ridiculous contract extensions and transfer fees in the first place? I'm not taking away from the fact they are shit owners but they have been stung many many times when it comes to signing players. They know nothing about football, they trust the people they put in place. If you were the owner of a football club and the manager and CEO who you trust kept asking for player contract renewals( Mulgrew,Bennett, Smallwood etc)then after a month or two those players hardly play anymore then would you not be sceptical about agreeing to future demands? It isn't the owners who decides who gets a new contract, who we pay a transfer fee for they just sign it off. The biggest issue with the owners is they won't put competent people in place not because they are penny pinching and tight with finance because they have been far from tight with finance. Even in the early days..etuthu, best, Murphy, the Portuguese contingent, these were expensive deals for them and us and we got badly stung with them. Even in the summer and with the state around the ground I refuse to believe the owners wouldnt have signed off on the couple of grand it would have cost to give the surroundings at the ground a tidy.I find it far more plausible that it was the people on the ground trying to keep outgoings as minimal as possible to show themselves in a good light to the owners after the failures on the football pitch.I don't think the venky family have any idea that around the ground was full of weeds and is in need of general maintenance, they leave that sort of stuff to the people on the ground
  19. Well they should have invited offers for Armstrong last January then instead of deluding themselves we had a chance of promotion or that he was going to sign a new deal
  20. Derby are under a transfer embargo as are Reading. Derby will most likely go down due to it. I'm correct in thinking you want Mowbray out?So why do you want him to be given more money to get us even into more debt? Your last paragraph is correct it is mismanagement by both the people on the ground and Venkys. The club needs to become more self sustained, we can't keep running our wage bill at 180% to our turnover. One of the main reasons we are in this mess is because we have given ridiculous contracts to ageing or substandard players with little or no resale value so I don't see what value there is in giving Mowbray more money to spend when most likely the players he brings in will be ageing journeymen with no chance of them taking us to the next level but we will be left stuck with them for 2 or 3 years or end up paying them off.Paying off player's has cost us a scary amount since in the championship The club's you mentioned in your second to last paragraph, don't spend the money we do on transfers and don't have the massive wage bill either. If we were spending similar amounts to them and finishing in the same position as those clubs then you would be on here moaning that ,"our billionaire owners" don't spend enough
  21. Southampton will come back with another bid when Ings gets his move
  22. Can't see anything from Sharpe on that?Saw a tweet by Crooke saying he was writing a story on it
  23. You have said the same every year for 5 years . I think they are downscaling it but I do not see them putting us into administration but maybe it will be 5th time lucky for you
