  1. That is all fair enough but my initial post was in response to JHRover making out that Mowbray said we have to sell Williams to bring in a defender. He didn't say that, he said a defensive signing isn't dependant on Williams going .
  2. We do have offers in according to the manager.
  3. What doesn't feel right about Williams possibly leaving? Last season he went to the manager and asked to be considered as a centre half? When he was fit he found himself on the bench behind a superior player in Tosin. The manager has stated he wants to bring in new defenders. At the age he is Williams will undoubtedly want to be playing first team football.I don't think there is anything odd about a player wanting to move on in such a situation, nor do I think it odd the manager being open to selling an out of favour defender to increase his transfer budget
  4. You are entitled to your opinion but reading your posts you moan about everything the club does, you must get no enjoyment out of following Rovers these days at all? It was obvious money was going to be tight this year, even if we disregard covid he spent 12 million on two players that have done nothing for us thus far, can see why the owners would be hesitant handing over more money but at the same time if they don't have confidence in Mowbray spending the money wisely they should sack him. We signed a goalkeeper for cash, which you said we wouldn't, and now we have you have come out with that the players off the wage bill have paid for that signing. Selling Williams would give us a bit more money and maybe the extra few quid which will get his preffered target over the line.He did not say in his interview that we have to sell to buy, in fact he said straight up that a defensive signing wasnt dependant on the sale of Williams.
  5. That's fair enough but he said a defensive signing isn't dependant on selling Williams so don't understand JhRovers post when Mowbray didn't say we have to sell Williams to bring someone in. His sale might mean we can afford a better target
  6. Mowbray said a defensive signing isn't dependant on selling Williams? Also can't see where he said we have to sell to bring others in??
  7. You could well be right,Andy Bayes said Mowbray told them that defensive signings ain't dependent on Williams leaving .It would obviously give us a bit more cash to play with though
  8. When it was mentioned on here last week about Sharpe saying we were close to a goalkeeper, the reply by you was we had no budget and no money.Just speculation by you And as for the Kaminski deal all our transfers take an age to complete only have to look at the Tosin deal last year as the perfect example of that.
  9. You said last week we had no money to being in any players. Just guesswork by you.Maybe wait and see what happens in regards to incomings and outgoings And you have no idea if Phillips was a target or not, Kaminski been on the radar a while according to Mowbray
  10. Yes but the wages of the players who departed won't just be added up and given to Mowbray so he can spend on this goalkeeper either, they would have been paid over the season. Agree with the point you are making about people signing up just to make digs.
  11. Don't think anything amiss personally. He wants first team football which he isn't getting here. Last season he informed the manager he wanted to be considered centre half only, and when fit found himself on the bench behind a superior player in Tosin. Taking all the above into account quite possible he has asked to move on,he is ok cover but if him moving on allows a bit extra being spent on an individual then I'm all for it, could be the difference between Mowbray buying from his b list rather than c list
  12. Well to be fair we have had a poster trying to suggest that is what we will be doing ,selling everthing.Altho he does say the same thing every year Be more than 500k spent so far if we are bringing wages into it.
  13. Agree we need a few signings but none of the fringe players are losses. You thought the other week we wouldn't make a cash signing in the goalkeeping or defensive department. Through our owners lack of interest it takes time to get deals done, the Tosin transfer being the prime example. Tosin big loss and on last seasons showing Downing is a big loss but he is at that age it could go at anytime we need money spending on a few key positions, the rest of the players let go their contribution was minimal and I think we have enough talent in our youth to adequately replace them
  14. I presume you think we should close the academy? We are short in areas no disputing that. But you were saying earlier in the week that Smallwood and Samuel hadn't been replaced etc.Smallwood didn't play a game for us last year and Samuel played a few but over his time here you would have to agree he didn't meet the standard required.Im a big fan of Graham but on his contribution last year you can't say he will be a miss this season. No point having an academy if you believe that we don't have a few in our under 23 group that ain't capable of bettering the contribution of the 3 players mentioned above. The goalkeeper came about out of nowhere so we really have no idea what is going on behind the scenes to be fair.
  15. Sharpe mentioned him and Mulgrew leaving couple of days ago. Last season one of the MLS teams where looking at him according to the press
  16. Waiting on totally wickeds cheque clearing
  17. Any chance you could screenshot that article as I cant read it.Thanks if you can
  18. Harry Kane was on holiday not with his club who would be monitoring his tests etc. Our new goalkeeper may not have to isolate, the club have applied for an exemption according to sky sports news. He has been playing games and tested every week so if fairs fair then he shouldn't have to isolate, like Liverpool
  19. What about this elite athlete exemption that the club applied for?Has that been turned down?
  20. It's 2 years with the option of a third in the club's favour
  21. Rovers still trying to sort out him not having to go into quarantine
  22. Sure we won't have a club in a couple of years.IYO the Owners are pulling the plug
  23. Being signed for the under 23s
  24. You didn't rate Dack when he signed either so you could be wrong
  25. In fairness briansol makes a good point, the senior players rave about him and they see him every day. He is definitely talented and the one match he played the ten role against Charlton he was very good.
