  1. Probably Kipre has completed his move to West brom so we moved on to our next target a loan for a highly rated young defender from City's u-18s
  2. Ah i think it's the right decision, if the worst happened and Kaminski suffered a bad injury we couldn't be confident with Fisher as our number 1 with another 2 rookies fighting it out for number 2
  3. Edouard according to sky
  4. We have had hardly any income since march how is it covered by the wages saved from the players leaving?
  5. It's working on the EFL ifollow app.Are you trying to access it through the rovers site?
  6. We have been trying to compete tho. The manager bought badly but has certainly been backed, Brereton and Gallagher two expensive signings, Holtby, Johnson, and Downing would be on very good money and certainly in the case of Holtby would have took a nice signing on fee to get him here. The manager has been backed,we have tried to compete in terms of spending. Bauer didn't come here not because of money but he would not have been first choice.Mowbray said many times last year he was looking for a particular type of player to play alongside Lenihen and found that in Tosin a totally different type of player and who according to numerous reports didn't come cheap either. I'm not saying I agree with that but I'm not the manager and since he has walked through the door he has been backed. I agree with some of the things you say about the state the club finds itself in and the disregard shown by the owners but they are putting cash in,well have been since Mowbray came to the club. And imo you take it to another level with some of your criticism, like going on about the fact we didn't go on a pre season getaway and piss up, and how you seem to think we should be like Chelsea and Man city with 3 or 4 players of similar ability for each position, suggesting Smallwood ,Mulgrew and Samuel are losses to the squad and we should replace them with cash signings instead of looking to our youth . Money is obviously tight, most of our funds should be used on our first eleven
  7. When he said he feels he is doing well I took it to mean he meant in this pre season? He had said just before that that he hadn't played much
  8. Do you really believe an article in the Lancashire evening telegraph stating we were close to Kipre's signing pushed West Brom into a move? It's been no secret anyone at Wigan is available for bargain prices.
  9. He has already shown what he can do in the championship. If he does go out on loan it will be to a club in Europe or Premier league.Wouldnt be suprised if he goes on a season loan to a club in Germany or France
  10. I notice the guy who first broke the Kipre news at the weekend on twitter is saying we will still sign him as he wants to stay in the north west
  11. Still think a chance this Kipre deal happens. We won't be able to compete on personal terms with any interested premier league clubs but hopefully he will join a team where he has a better chance of first team football.
  12. That is what Sharpe meant.Said the manager wants 2 centre halves
  13. Yeah but been no secret Wigan need to sell players. One would presume no matter how early we went for Kipre he would have had the same interest from other clubs. Personally don't believe a premier league team will buy him and if they do it won't be as a starting player.
  14. Yeah but if he does move to a premier league club ahead of us, surely you won't find a reason to blame the club for that?
  15. His agent could be putting it out there about premier league interest to get his client a better wage. The times IV seen Kipre looks a very good defender for this level but don't think he good enough yet to be starting week in week out in the premier league.Surely Leeds and West Brom would want better if they are hoping to stay up
  16. Yet you don't note other people's point about the loss of income since covid and the sponsorship issue? You still haven't explained how Mowbray's comments earlier alarmed you into believing Williams would have to leave before we bring anyone in? Or why we need to sign players to replace Smallwood(didn't play last season)Mulgrew(one match last season) Samuel (4 or 5 games last season).Like I said in an earlier post you must have little faith in our academy if we don't have adequate cover from the under 23s to replace those 3?
  17. Would be a very good signing
  18. That is all fair enough but my initial post was in response to JHRover making out that Mowbray said we have to sell Williams to bring in a defender. He didn't say that, he said a defensive signing isn't dependant on Williams going .
  19. We do have offers in according to the manager.
  20. What doesn't feel right about Williams possibly leaving? Last season he went to the manager and asked to be considered as a centre half? When he was fit he found himself on the bench behind a superior player in Tosin. The manager has stated he wants to bring in new defenders. At the age he is Williams will undoubtedly want to be playing first team football.I don't think there is anything odd about a player wanting to move on in such a situation, nor do I think it odd the manager being open to selling an out of favour defender to increase his transfer budget
  21. You are entitled to your opinion but reading your posts you moan about everything the club does, you must get no enjoyment out of following Rovers these days at all? It was obvious money was going to be tight this year, even if we disregard covid he spent 12 million on two players that have done nothing for us thus far, can see why the owners would be hesitant handing over more money but at the same time if they don't have confidence in Mowbray spending the money wisely they should sack him. We signed a goalkeeper for cash, which you said we wouldn't, and now we have you have come out with that the players off the wage bill have paid for that signing. Selling Williams would give us a bit more money and maybe the extra few quid which will get his preffered target over the line.He did not say in his interview that we have to sell to buy, in fact he said straight up that a defensive signing wasnt dependant on the sale of Williams.
  22. That's fair enough but he said a defensive signing isn't dependant on selling Williams so don't understand JhRovers post when Mowbray didn't say we have to sell Williams to bring someone in. His sale might mean we can afford a better target
