Name me a club in this division who's business you are envious of? The club's who have made decent signings are the one's who have sold players to find them Notts forest, Norwich, Brentford, Birmingham have all sold players for significant fees.We have sold 1 player in 3 years I'm sure we would have one or two more through the door if we were targetting players of lower calibre.I would rather the right player in even if it takes till the end of the window rather than a sign a sub standard player who we will most likely want to replace in 12 month time

IL take rich Sharpe's word over yours that we did make offers and Ayala was pencilled in for medical. This squad will not get relegated only way of becoming promotion contenders is buying quality that will go into the first 11 not just any old player just so we can say we have someone in.Sarr got relegated last season

You seem to be ignoring the fact since March the club has feck all income. Wether you like it or not Ffp is a thing or did you miss us being under an embargo ? You also said yourself we were close with Ayala, you seem to want anybody in no matter the quality. And as for defensive signings they have been made not in Mowbray's tenure granted but HE chose to spend his competitive budget on Gallagher and Brereton.Keep peddling your fairytales IL stick to the fact the manager has had more than enough money to sort the defence out but chose to spend the money elsewhere.Answer me this if Venkys don't sign off defensive deals then why did they agree to pay a 1 million loan fee and wages for Tosin for a year We are trying to sign players would it make you happy to bring in a sub standard player just to get a body in?Nothing is stopping us paying 10k a week for a player or are you now saying we were never close with Ayala? And another thing that you seem to have missed we are in the middle of a global pandemic do you really expect or want us to be throwing cash about when people's jobs are at risk. You want cash signings to replace the likes of Smallwood and Hart...deluded

Prime aged championship players of a promotion quality are above our wage cap though. The Venkys have given him money to spend no doubt but I do believe he still has a ceiling on what he can offer in wages. We have paid big wages before Rhodes,Best, Etuhu,Murphy etc etc and we ended up in a transfer embargo.Unless we start to see an increase in fans attending when it is allowed again then we cant up our wage ceiling due to ffp In my opinion it's silly to think he doesn't want to get promoted. He would get a new contract with better money,he gets sacked big payout and would have a better chance of getting another job with another promotion on his cv
-
You can't really believe that Mowbray doesn't want to get promoted? Why on earth would he not want another promotion on his CV.Not to mention the new contract and healthy pay increase he would likely receive?Even if he got the sack after he would have a much better pay off and also have a better chance of being in contention for jobs that became available in the championship. I'm not his biggest fan and want signings as much as the next man,he is working to a budget and wage cap, I believe we were close with Kipre and even closer with Ayala as I believe Sharpe when he said deal very close but clubs came in and offered them better deals. At least they seem to be trying to bring in a high calibre player for this level. Some are bemoaning that we didn't sign Naby Sarr he just got relegated and although I think he is ok no way do I think a Naby Sarr or a player of similar calibre will take us up a level.

Mowbray has already said Kaminski will be starting tomorrow

I'm not sure on that, for the Doncaster match I logged into the Rovers website, paid for the match but couldn't find how to watch it on that so downloaded the ifollow app logged in with the same details as my Rovers account and watched the whole game no problems
-
You can pay for and watch an individual game for a tenner
-
We will definitely bring players in but will they be any good?Or will they be permanent or loans
-
Sorry to hear that. Hope we can start the season with a win and give us all something to be happy about this weekend
-
Did you buy it through the rovers website or The ifollow app? Last game I logged into Rovers webpage purchased it but couldn't see how to watch it so downloaded the ifollow app logged in with same details and watched the whole game no issues
-
Nobody thinks it's easy.My issue with it all is how many times do we hear Mowbray telling us a deal is done only for it to break down . You won't find Levy practically announcing a signing to the media until the deal is done.
-
You could well be right. The coach who was at Brentford obviously rates him, currently makes too many mistakes to be a premier league goalkeeper imo especially at a club like Arsenal and although I think he has potential to be a top class goalkeeper, my opinion is he would be better served playing every week to work on his weaknesses
-
The player himself requested to leave. It's hard to keep a player when they ask to leave to be fair bit we sold him for peanuts He will be joining Arsenal to sit on the bench though.Martinez been outstanding for Arsenal since Leno got injured but now back fit Martinez being sold and Leno will revert to being number 1 again. Agree with the rest of your post we sold for peanuts.

To be fair it happens quite a lot were agents try to get extra out of the buying club at the last minute. Even happens with the big clubs, article on Liverpool's failure to sign Fekir due to last minute agent demands https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-live-sancho-18899252

3 million for their second choice left back who is out of contract in 12 months? No wonder we struggling to bring people in
-
Well it looks like we have come up short anyway with Ayala looking close to joining a new club. With Kipre he most likely would have signed within our budget only for west brom coming in and offering a much better deal
-
We would have done it with Holtby last season he would have got a significant signing on fee to come here on our wage cap. Just saying that's why we could have been in negotiating with Ayala. Its not as simple as his previous wage being much higher than our current ceiling there are ways around it and it was spoken about last window by Mowbray when we brought Johnson and Holtby to the club
-
Ayala previous wage is above our budget but available on a free we could have offset the reduction he would have taken on his wage by upping the signing on fee
-
Losing Tosin,Downing and Walton will send us down? The other departures played bit parts. We need new signings but go down?We won't
-
We need 5 in might get away with 4. We have lost 8 players but Smallwood wasn't involved, either was Hart Samuel hardly involved, Graham's influence had dwindled. Downing,Tosin and Walton only really played week in week out. The likes of JRC, Buckley ,Davenport and Butterworth/Vale will give more of a contribution than Hart, Smallwood and Samuel.
-
Who on earth was going to come in and agree to sign Mulgrew on his current deal? You are living in a dream world if you thought that was going to happen. The mistake was giving him the contract in the first place.Getting whatever we can out of Fleetwood or another club is the best we can do
-
Latest line from the telegraph is that Aston Villa could hold the key for us bringing in a better standard of player. They in for King who Sharpe believes we have 20 percent sell on and they in for Martinez at Arsenal and if they sign him , Arsenal will look to bring in Raya as his replacement.Sharpe speculating we have a 15 % sell on clause
-
Why?The manager is given a budget, last summer HE decided to spend the majority of it on Gallagher and I don't care what you or anyone else says Gallagher was a Mowbray signing. The Venkys have made nice money selling defenders since their arrival,I think it's a fairytale that the owners block signings of defensive players. The Tosin 1 year loan deal was expensive in itself .
