Bolton Wanderers Unpaid Staff Need Food bank.

They need £2m by midnight tonight but how long will that last them? Not sure that it’s down to other clubs to keep them going. Always the fans that get hit the hardest though. -
Summer Transfer Summary - Poll
Stuart replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It’s an anonymous poll. You are a mod now... -
Ironic that Blackburn of all places (260 pubs at one stage http://www.cottontown.org/Culture and Leisure/Buildings/Pages/Public-Houses.aspx) has ended up with large parts of the town where the locals don’t drink.
-
When you get a good CB partnership you keep playing them together until one of them is injured. It’s one of the main places on the pitch where, together with the goalkeeper, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I think Graham is going to be super sub this year. He isn’t going to last for ever and it’s the right thing to be looking to reduce our reliance on him. The problem is that in failing to bring in a quality replacement - despite throwing £12m - £14m at it - it means that we now have to change to a different style of play and this false 9 nonsense. I guess it depends on your point of view. If this is our last chance to get promoted before the fire-sale begins then you would play him. But I can’t decide if they will back him or not. They must have been disappointed with 15th last season and will surely expect play-off places to continue to believe in his approach.

How will we know that we are on the front foot before the game starts?

Agree with Matty and Tony. It’s just further evidence that fans are seen as cash cows to be fleeced (cash sheep?) of their money with the least amount of imagination Whilst I’d say we have a great online brand and marketing these days, our creativity on the ground extends to putting a small covered outside bar serving the same crap. If you wanted value for money, you wouldn’t buy a programme, a pie and a pint at the ground, you’d by 4000 holes, a Big Mac and a pint at the Ewood WMC. That’s not even factoring in the cost of feeding the kids pop and crisps. Business is really simple: right product, right place/time, right price. Using Blues Bar as an example, Rovers increase their prices at a time when they have the most footfall. Football clubs are not like other events, you don’t just take advantage of fans who have come on a one-off basis to watch their favourite pop star and accept that high prices are part of that experience. Football clubs are in the business of brand loyalty and repeat business. To use Ewood WMC as an example, they offer cheaper prices for members - rewarding loyalty. Instead of “club cash”, why isn’t there a scheme for discounts on food and merchandise based on how long you have had a season ticket? 1-3 years 5%, 4-10 years 10%, over 15 years 15% - including food/drink? They have the technology (just about). Start to reward fans and not just keep going after them for more money. This is just one suggestion, there must be others that treat fans with more respect.

If Bennett ends up being thrown in at left back to accommodate Nyambe or Tosin then he deserve a knighthood, not the captaincy!

So’s Christmas! ??

Which is what is so frustrating. We need just a little more depth in defence and we are knocking on the door. Give the money we have wasted you have to wonder why that is.
-
No way should he be touching the Lenihan and Williams partnership unless one of them is injured.
-
All true but we are one more injury away from calamity in defence. Unless that gets sorted we are relying on a huge amount of luck.

We’ve won nothing yet. Great back to back results - in part thanks to opposition poor finishing but also a good style of football. There are things to tweak. Gallagher and Armstrong need a lot of work but a team is forming. Downing has been the player that we all thought Murphy and Whittingham would have been. Experience, quality but still hungry. Until this club achieves Premier League football, it still needs Premier League football. We still have it all to do and if Venkys lose faith or patience with the project it could be the Bowyer slash and burn and relegation to follow a period of backing. Mowbray didn’t look comfortable in interviews before or after the game tonight. Has he been told he has this season? Does he need to be in the play-off places to get more budget in January? He has saved face for them time and again since he has been here and he will expect some loyalty back but money talks. Well done tonight Tony.

Grosicki has a face only Liz McDonald could love.

Really clever play by the Hull lad to win the penalty. If he touches the ball, Johnson goes in for the 50/50 and my betting would be he wins in. As it was he let the ball go through his legs so there was no ball to challenge for and then takes the foul. It’s not quite cheating but it’s very shrewd.

I think I’m the only person enjoying this. Cracking tempo.

Hanging on at the minute.

The manager of the Ewood WMC darts association. Ole Gunner Solskjaer.

Just shown Rovers transfer business. Can’t believe we spent £5m on Gallagher and didn’t buy a single defender or goalkeeper. He needs to start paying that back with goals/assists.
