  1. Thanks Den for your intervention and I take your points. I have no problem about someone having a difference of opinion to me. That is bound to happen with any intelligent discussion. Arguing or causing arguments for the sake of arguing is a waste of space on the site and personal attacks are not acceptable, however he is now dragging you into an argument. Don't rise to the bait like I did mate. Better just to ignore him. I know he is provoking but if nobody argues with him he will hopefully go away.
  2. No, they failed to do their jobs. Other teams find the men they need. Why not Rovers. You are an argumentative soul aren't you. Not many posts yet but every one I've seen seems to be trying to provoke an argument. Anyway several of us have risen to the bait so you must be good at it.
  3. Fergsuon was not such a great player that his loss will doom us to relegation, Asgood as he may have been, his happiness at rejoining rangers shows that his eart would not have been in preventing us from being relegated. And for the upteenth time. WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE CLUB TRIED TO SIGN A STIKER OR NOT. WE DO NOT KNOW IF THEY HAD BIDS THAT FAILED. remember that we are a club that traditionally keep all transfer news quiet untill the deal is done, unless the other club make it public. No we do not know how many times we tried to sign a striker. The point is we failed. We had half a season to look for a striker not just a month and we failed. If I had failed at work I would have been sacked. We all know your opinion of Ferguson. You have bored us with it UMPTEEN times but you are wrong. He is a class player but without scruples. However we could have got over that loss if we had signed a goalscorer. The money we got for him does us no good in the bank whilst we get relegated for lack of goals.
  4. The loss of our best player with no replacement and no one in the squad who can put the ball in the net is a catylyst for relegation. Williams has screwed up big time. We need the millions out there on the pitch not in the bank. Buying in the summer could well be too late.
  5. Off to bed now, disappointed, disgusted and dissillusioned.
  6. For this to happen i assume JW has the consent of hughes and he must have a plan! Otherwise he would have stuck to the price! Thinking logically (not always a strong point on here or in rovers board room) hughes and rovers must have a backup plan and a way out of this very very very flat day! Thank god for the FA cup thats all i can say! Just one word '@#/?'.
  7. Disappointed? No Furious. We have sold our only class player at a discount and signed nothing. We were struggling before, now relegation is a real prospect. (with money in our pockets that should be on the pitch). Defeat to the Dingles is a real possibility. I am utterly disgusted with the bunch of amateurs who purport to be our board.
  8. If that is the price we have received our trusty board have caved in yet again. £6 million we said and £6 million it should be. Anything less is allowing Rangers to rip us off. Have we no sense of shame at being ripped off by a bunch of Jocks.
  9. the guy does not want to play for us he is a w-anker full stop,if you want to cheer him do it-i hate the guy and i will boo him to high heaven if hughes thinks he can do a job at ewood If you boo him in a Rovers shirt you are a complete pratt an do not deserve to be classed as a supporter. I do not like Savage but I will support him as long as he plays for us.
  10. What is it with you Waggy. Did he rape your sister? What is this 'Never been to Ewood' rubbish. I am a season ticket holder. If he wears the shirt and plays his best for Rovers then leave him alone. Do you want him to play badly because you are going the right way to make him?
  11. Yes I remember that. He frightened the Dingles defence to death with his heading ability but he was a far, far more accomplished player than Amo.
  12. God that really smacks of desperation and the real tragedy is that I do not reject it out of hand.
  13. After last nights display, nay the displays from our strikers so far this season I have to disagree. Of our strikers Jansen has looked the most dangerous in front of goal. Jansen on crutches is better than Bothroyd. Even as he is now Jansen is our current best bet to partner Dickov. We really are in dire straits up front.
  14. Can't remember where I saw it Al, but Hughes has been quoted as saying that Ferguson has trained for the past three days and is fit. He said it was down to him [Hughes] to decide whether to play him or not. Yes I think I heard that somewhere too but in the Savage article it says he is struggling to be fit.
  15. According to the official site he is still injured. I'm not sure whether to believe it or not!
  16. Unless Rangers come up with an acceptable deal we should sit tight. Come February he will soon withdraw his transfer request when there is nowhere else to go and he will have to keep up his standard of play if he wants to go anywhere in the summer. We still hold his registration.
  17. If the world had piles they would be situated in Birmingham.
  18. As far as I can see the only one who is sure of his place is Freidel. I would have said Todd but it is possible that the two new guys could push very strongly for the center half berths. Perhaps Emerton is fairly safe but I do not see him as captain material. Goalkeeper would not be my favourite position for captain but I honestly don't see another short term option.
  19. Not noble but still the best and classiest player on our books. I am very disappointed that he no longer wishes to play for us and fear that it could cause us problems. Thankfully we are 9 points clear of the relegation zone. Obviously we cannot play him now. It is a pity that his integrity does not match his talent. However if Rangers want him they must pay us back what we paid them or let him rot. What they are attempting is little less than extortion. Let's see if we get Savage for less than 3 mill. and there is no comparison both in age and class between the two. The money should be used for a decent striker for that is where we are weakest now.
  20. It's all become too boring. I don't care any more whether we sign Savage or not as long as we sign a decent striker.
  21. He's always been a snarling chav. Signing for United didn't change that. No but it made him easier to loathe though didn't it?
  22. Barry is simply not replaceable for the sort of money we are seeing bandied about. He doesn't seem to be dead set on leaving so let's do our best to keep him. We need his class if we are ever to be a decent team again. Who is going to want to sign for us if we are continually seen to sell our best players, whatever the reasons? (Dunn, Duff, Cole,Ferguson) Ferguson is our best player as everyone except the most obstinate agrees.
  23. Let's not turn against Fergy just yet. To my knowledge he has not said he wants to leave. All this speculation has come from the gutter press and possibly a greedy agent. Calling him a traitor etc. will only colour his judgement against us. We should wait to see what he has to say himself before judging him. No way should Rangers have him back for a penny less than we paid. £3.5 million for 17 months loan would make us a laughing stock.
  24. Time to let this bid rest and look for a centre forward. £2.5 million is more than enough for Savage and Birmingham would obviously rather give him away than let him come to Blackburn.
  25. I believe that the FA Cup began to die when the rewards for being in the Premiership (£ wise) became so out of proportion with the league. It is now of paramount importance to stay in the premiership and managers are reluctant to risk injury to their best players in cup competitions unless they happen to get into the final rounds. The FA cup magic has therefore now died, possibly for ever. Unfortunately money is more important than silverware.
