I am beginning to doubt Raya, who I did think had the makings of a top keeper.

I think a major reason for this is our goalkeeper coach. Ben Benson is 28 years old and was promoted from academy coach. Now, academy players need to be taught things like footwork, starting position, hand shape, technique etc. Raya should be well beyond these basics and these should be second nature.

As an established first team keeper he needs coaching on playing to his strengths... he can’t deal with crosses very well, but then again, neither could Brad Friedel, so he stayed on his line rather than coming flapping. His distribution is poor, so why on earth does he attempt to launch counters with quick kicks that seem to invariably go to the opposition or out of touch. Raya needs an old head who has been there and done it... I’m not suggesting we are going to get a world class keeper coach... Bobby Mimms was a good un, and while we might not get anyone quite on his level I’m pretty sure we can get someone who has actually played at pro level. Anyone can knock a few balls into him in a pre-match warm up, he needs some wisdom imparting, not the stuff the FA give you in a folder when you take your coaching badges.

Brad Friedel had Samba , Nelsen and  Short  in front of him who could attack the bloody ball

Lampard is clueless. Somebody was waxing lyrical about him months ago on here being the next Chelsea manager and having tussles with Slippy G when he takes over at Liverpool .

A man with a penchant for slapping women eh ? Great bloke. Smug nobhead full of self importance.

Slippy G , not doing much better in a 2 horse race !

If he was a very poor manager we would have been in relegation trouble. He was if anything distinctly average, not good enough to get us into the playoffs but not bad enough to take us into serious trouble. If you take his lack of experience into account and the lack of support he had above him I think it's really harsh to shit all over his tenure. His best wasn't ultimately good enough but it could have been a hell of a lot worse. One thing I have noticed is that Mowbray gets cut a lot more slack than GB.

Mowbray got us promoted , if Bowyer was here last season we would treading water in the 3rd division...

Mowbray is not perfect but Bowyer should never have got more than end of season after Berg was sacked !!!

We rarely if ever come out fired up. I don't know why it always takes a half time team talk before our team wakes up. It's been the same since day one, Mowbray simply cannot prepare or motivate the team to be up for it from the first whistle. Our only hope is that the opposition are similarly blasé or overcautious and we cancel each other out (which leads to the all familiar 0-0 HT scoreline at Ewood). It's really weird that we only seem to be able to play properly for 45 minutes at a time. You can't even put that down to fitness as it's usually the second half where we're better, not the first.

That's a bit disingenuous. We finished 8th and 9th in Bowyer's first full seasons, we aren't going to get anywhere close to that under Mowbray this season. We're looking st 18th or 19th which is lower than Bowyer even when he was sacked (we were 16th at the time, with a significantly worse team than Mowbray currently has).

Bowyer should have got play offs ....a very poor manager !!

Perfect assessment, Mowbray had done perhaps more for the club off the pitch as on it.

Today's first half performance baffling, must have made at least 4 tactical changes, which seemed to confuse us more tham Boro.

Worryingly, the slump in form must be addressed , as a long drawn on out meander to the end of the season will have far=reaching consequences on retention and recruitment .

Premier League? more chance of League one as it is panning out.

January window was a necessity to add a little quality to the squad, however chasing targets who we could never afford, is amateurish at best.

Not if you know damn well , they won't sign !!!

It looks like good but in reality it was 'pie in the sky '...

All this increasing Mowbray out sentiment worries me. We are a shambles on the pitch at the moment but my biggest fear is, we'd be far worse off rolling the dice. We are still owned by loons and undoubtedly, he is far from perfect but has our best interests at heart.

I was in agreement until today .... WE  appear to have the losing habit !

  9. I dont think I have ever witnessed a Rovers manager make 3 subs at once in my life (granted the 3 subs rule has not been in long)

To me it proved the manager select the wrong tea m, again !!!

Now , I think he is ' losing the plot ' danger is when will our owners realize ? and who will be his replacement ??

The defence is a complete joke , it is non existent , call me old fashioned but defenders are there to stop the  opponents scoring ,,

    Brannagan , Keeley , Fazackerley , Rathbone

AS hard as nails all of them !!

It might have helped us to take those chances if our top two goal scorers had played. Instead the front 3 consisted of Armstrong 4 League goals, Conway 0 League goals and Brereton 0 league goals. Whereas on the bench we had Dack 11 League goals and Graham 10 League goals. Do you not think if one or both of those had been selected that we would have been far more likely to take one of those chances?

    Fair point !!
