  1. Surely Baker? One good shot but otherwise invisible. Hedges no better on reflection.
  2. Definitely Baker (what does he bring to the team?) and Hedges who's had enough chances and just isn't good enough. A crap Mowbray signing. At least Dolan was good at bringing the ball out of defence quickly although he doesn't seem to know where and when to release it. But I think he's played quite well so far this season. His effort and pressure is immense. Weiiman isn't quick enough to do that job and Cantwell isn't fit yet but I'd expect Duberry to give us something there.
  3. Pears was our man of the match. made some terrific saves and no mistakes. Don't know what's come over him! Terrible game between 2 teams you'd think were near the bottom of League 1. It was a slog fest. Big mistake not to start with Gueye. We created almost nothing all day. By contrast Pears had to be outstanding. That was the disappointing thing almost total lack of creativity. The Ref was rubbish as seems to be the case in this league virtually every week. Occasion too big for him.
  4. Glad we've brought Gueye on. Its that sort of game.
  5. As I posted last season, drive to Walton Le Dale Centre, leave your car on its massive free car park, get the shuttle bus to Preston bus station 10 minutes away, Easy!
  6. Obsession with cameras and snapping everything---held to be a Japanese trait.
  7. The original "I really think so" will do?
  8. Because Gueye wasn't available for that?
  9. I don't give stuff about Preston, I just want 3 points.
  10. We have had the worst luck possible at Deepdale in recent years. It's as if we are cursed. So I won't be optimistic about this until we've actually done it.
  11. Both Ohashi and Guaye started against Derby and that didn't go too badly? I also think Guaye was doing a great job roughing up Burnley defenders till he was sent off. We have missed that side of the game so much.
  12. I'd go with that side.
  13. Nobody thinking Gueye will start? It seems exactly the sort of game where we need him to me.
  14. I wouldn't swap him for Gueye.
  15. I remember an earlier game at Ewood which Preston won. Tom Finney gave Matt Woods the hardest game he ever had. He was a genius that day.
  16. When Ohashi received the ball for his second goal, he was way out on his own on the right wing with no Rovers player to pass to and three defenders and a keeper between him and goals. It did not look possible that he would score from that position but he did it-- with aplomb. Any of the great strikers would have been proud of that one. Add that he can shoot with either foot and you'd have to conclude that we have a real find here and I would definitely start him with Gueye. Gueye doen't look like he'll score many, though its early days yet, but he will provide the chances for others. What a relief its been this season to see difficult chances put away. Big contrast with last season when we wasted chance after chance and mad life so difficult for ourselves.
  17. Siggy has something about him but Hedges has disappointed for me. I"ll always remember the goal he scored at QPR but that late late disaster of his at Preston still rankles. I don't think I'd keep him. The problem here is that we probably won't get any money for him. Dolan would attract attract a reasonable fee, . I think he's started the season well but he'll most likely leave for nothing as well. The most generous Club in Britain.
  18. This is a big issue for us given the Club's financial position. The article overeggs the pudding a bit but the need to find so many replacements, at the last minute and at a cost we can cover is an almighty task and surely holds us back? We ned to make decisions on who we want to keep earlier and make them happy to stay, rather than losing transfer fees every year. We really have cobbled the central defence together for example and at the end of the season we'll have to do it all over again. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/hedges-features-blackburn-rovers-players-will-leave-at-the-end-of-season/
  19. Buckley's career seems to be over? I honestly thought he'd be a key player for us once. Being a bit obsessive? Does it matter?
  20. We paid £7m for Diaz who was hopeless initially, had one good season, was basically a one-trick pony (cut in from the left and curl it right-footed into the top corner). Finally ran his contract down and left us for nothing. Now we have Ohashi, signed for peanuts, looked good and scored from the off, good in the air, quick and can cut in from the left or the right and use either foot. A deadly finisher. Chalk and cheese. The only worry is that Venkys will expect spectacular alar results for little outlay every time now! They'll be having wet dreams about this bit of transfer business!
  21. Yes,I noticed that one! Illiterate.
  22. Gotta love the LT! Who proof reads? Anyone? "Rovers' retirement team will be over the moon with the start their two major foreign imports have made."
  23. There was trouble occasionally. The worst I remember is v Liverpool where we met round about the halfway line on the Riverside. 1962?
