  1. I hope they do boycott the game, as that will give Rovers an advantage as Liverpool usually bring a large and vocal following which can only help their team. I'll take the three points over th gate receipts thanks.
  2. I don't go along with this ''moan moan moan'' theory. Fans, like managers and coaches are always looking at ways their team can get better. It doesn't matter how we are performing, there is always room for improvement. The great Arsenal team of 2004 drew too many games, as they didn't have a goal poacher who could win them the really tight games, this resulted in them surrendering the FA Cup and Champions League. The great Man Utd team had a dodgy defence who leaked goals at crucial times, which almost cost the the FA Cup and the Champions League, and eventualy cost them any long term dominence in europe, and has cost them any sustained domestic success ever since. The championship side of 1995 was reliant on one man to score a majority of their goals, as well as defensive frailties which saw us nearly surrender a 12 point gap at the top of the league, and eventually saw us drop away from those heights we were once at. The team is doing well, but you always want to do better, which is why fans (and managers/coaches) will always focus on the weak parts of the teams that could eventually cost you, rather than always praising the parts of the team you know are fine. Really, it is the only way you can get stronger and move on.
  3. First of all, what makes you the dirtiest? If it's card counts and cynical/reckless/persistent fouling then Lucas Neill, Robbie Savage, Paul Dickov and Tugay would all rank ahead of Todd. If it's card count, I would imagine all of the above would also be atleast even, or mostly ahead of him. If it's disgraceful challenges or horribles jesture then Essien and El Hadje Diouf would be ahead of him. Secondly, if he was the ''dirtiest'' (which he isn't) then who cares? He's still a good player and one of Rovers most consistant over the last 3 years, which has resulted in him being made club captain. I can't see any evidence of why Todd shouldn't be in the team. Personally I think Nelsen and Khizanishvili are the best partnership, purely as they are two different kind of centre halfs, and compliment each other well, but on actual performances, I do admit I'd have problems justifying why I'd drop Todd, so it's a toss of a coin. All I would say is after years of inept defenders, we are suddenly very fortunate with the selection problems we have there now.
  4. Mr Chav? Would you like me to send you a picture or does your small mind force you to use the most common and inaccurate insult you can blurt out on the spur of the moment?
  5. Am I right in thinking the Newcy Browns will be without... Carr Emre Parker Dyer Owen Ameobi ??? Anybody else?
  6. Fair enough.... Finlly a good point raised against my personal views rather than some other silly and irrelevant comparision. Perhaps not, though majority of teams yes. Whether he'll ever get in at Old Trafford with Ruud around is debatable, and unlikely, but there is always a place for him in blue and white halfs if he gets fed up.
  7. I'd like to point out I didn't refer to anyone inparticular as a fool. I refered to the group of people (as hypothetical as they may be) who rate players despite rarely/never seeing them play, purely due to their reputation. If you aren't one of these people, then I didn't insult you in any way, shape or from, so stop being so defensive. Also, to me, to be a world class striker you have to have all the correct attributes, and the ability to score goals in any team in the world. To me, Saha has these attrbues and would score goals for any team around, therefore, to me, that makes him world class.
  8. The Peter Jackson MOTM has long become a joke, and if your relying on that to back up any opinion then you really will contesting some weak arguments.
  9. Now let's not go comparing Bert to Duff!!! To be fair to myself, I have had a long fustration with Pedersens' lack of involvement other than his goals. The only reason I voice my concerns a little louder now is because the team is on the verge of breaking into the highest relms we can realistically challenge for. With this in mind I feel most players have to step or their game somewhat, or be replaced by people who will get us into those relms. That includes Pedersen, who, as I've said a million times, needs to improve his all round game, or once the goals dry up, he's useless to our quest to break into this european dream.
  10. Undoubtedly.. I'm not slagging off the management, I'm slagging off the supporters who seem to have an amazing unbalanced view on particular players. Reid has done okay, and is okay. But he isn't good enough for our starting eleven, and I hope a player of his qualities never is, though obviously I'd love him to progress and turn into a great midfielder. IMO, Dickov is much more valuable to us than Reid, yet Dickov is bad mouthed as much and as loudly as the Rovers fans sing Shefki Kuqis' name. Embarrassing.
  11. Hhhhmmmmm... Would expect a guy stuck out in Oslo to have a much more thorough view on Pedersens performances for Rovers.
  12. With all due respect, what kind of comment is that? Who gives a clumsy, hit shift + 8 again!! about David Beckham or Real Madrid? We are talking about Morten Gamst Pedersen and Blackburn Rovers. I don't know if you typed it thinking it was an argument winner or something, but I really see no relevance in what you've typed in the context of what we are discussing.
  13. It bewilders me. Is it to do with age, or am I the only one who can't see why people can suggest Dickov isn't Prem standard, but Reid is? Effort yes, but no guile, flair, creativity or skill. Makes little use of the pace available to him as well. Yesterday we saw how f*cked we are when Tugs retires, and anyone who thinks Reid is the answer.... Well, we'll rediscuss it during the play off charge.....
  14. I agree Pedersen should not be sold unless silly money is offered. However, for Pedersen, £7m is silly money. He doesn't offer the team anywhere near as much as he should. Yesterday was a game where you need your so called creative/flair players to play that killer ball, or score that vital goal. However, Pedersen was nowhere to be seen, and it wasn't the first time. Nobody can doubt the mans goals have been and will continue to be vitally important. Also, nobody can doubt, he does nothing in any game apart from sometimes score goals, and usually crackers at that. To get back to the original point of the thread; is Pedersen a left winger? The answer is either no, or it is ''not an effective one.'' At some point Pedersen will go ten games without scoring. Can anybody seriously suggest that if(when) this does happen, his general performances(judging on what we've seen from him so far) will be good enough to compensate for this lack of goals? Anyone who says yes either only ever watches the Rovers highlights, have Pedersen/Blue and White glasses on, or have seriously low expectations of what a creative midfielder/winger should be doing for the team.
  15. Pires has pace, skill, flair, great passing range, the ability to play the killer ball, a great crosser and is an amazing finisher. Pedersen has one of those attributes sorted, and granted it's not the worst, but it's also not enough.
  16. It's an opinion, and one probably shared. It's not my job to manage, and whilst I'm paying these people what limited cash I get, I'll express my opinion.
  17. Well the point is I/we're complaining because I/we don't feel Pedersen is shouldering the responsibility week in week out. Maybe dropping him will help. Maybe he just doesn't have the attributes. Either way, if and when the goals dry up, he is effectively useless IMO.
  18. But some of the things people like Kuqi and Emerton do are just plain retarded, and they need shooting as aposed to an earful from Bellers.
  19. What I wrote was Pedersens actual performances, IMO opinion, aren't good enough. As a left winger you need to carry the ball, get quality balls into the box, be able to find a yard away from your man to make deliveries, give maximum width, run faster than 1mph. At the moment Pedersen isn't doing these things anywhere near often enough. Yes his goals are important, but would be replaced and added to by other players goals if he did these things.
  20. Yeah 'cos that's what I said isn't it.... Read what I write and comment on that, but don't make up quotes you moron.
  21. Pedersen has been playing distinctly average for 12 months now. His goals have been his saving grace. He has not had one great game for Rovers from a general play point of view. Yet when people suggest we should sell him for a bid upwards of £7m, people go crazy! IMO, to move onto the next level certain positions need improving, with right midfield, centre midfield, left back and up front being the priorities. If Pedersen doesn't start pulling his weight there is room for one more position on that list.
  22. Why are some people so painfully black and white. Saha doesn't have to be as good as those two players to be considered world class. He is a quick, strong, powerful striker who's good in the air, a great finisher with both feet and a very good goalscoring record at the top level. Incidently, I never see Shevchenko play, and neither do you probably, as he plays in Italy. So, if you too rarely see him play, stop being one of these ''jump on the bandwagon'' fools who decides to (preverbally) suck the cock of these foreign players just because they here they are good, or because Chelsea have bid £50m for them. And Saha, all £12.5m of him, is world class. It's like saying The Millennium Stadium isn't a world class arena, just because the Wembley is better. Things aren't so black and white.
  23. Saha is a world class striker. Limiting him to one chance is very good going. Especially when you see what he does when he gets one.
