  1. Lawros' Predictions Look at his coments for the S'Land v Chelsea game... ''I'm goin to stick my neck out and say....''
  2. I'm I hallucinating again or is this a thead slagging off 2004's player of the year and our captain after a Man Of The Match performance against one europes best teams in a domestic semi final? Shurley Shome Mishtake?
  3. The defiant last words. Bet Matts' parting shot was ''I'll be back.'' Followed by ''On Saturday.''
  4. I hope to here the chant ''Jansen Jansen what's the score?'' echoing around Ewood Park come five to seven.
  5. I heard they executed it with a little chopper, ala Judge Schnider in The Simpsons.
  6. Kuqi is awful. Needs replacing asap (Time machine - Sutton etc). Dickov and Bellamy from the start week in week out now please. And those talking about Pedersen being poached, all I can say it's a bloody good job he scores these goals (and yes it is the most important thing in football, so credit to him) as if he didn't, IMO, his performances could easily be considered inept. Pleased with result, play average yet never in much danger of losing to United is always a good sign, we are a good team, but as we know, plenty of area for improvement. Could do with Peters' youthful fearlessness in the final third at some point at OT, certainly a more worthy substitute than some.
  7. SSN reporting a gate of atleast 25k expected.
  8. The biggest load of sh*te I've ever seen frm a so called semi final. It would only be justice if Rovers win this cup, as we are the only ones showing it the respect it deserves.
  9. Well should the club ever feel the need I think it could lead to a major upturn in our fortunes attendence wise. Every local football fan is sick to the teeth of the regular fiascos that are Blackpool Football club, and if Rovers gave them Premiership football for a good price on a plate, I feel many would be ready to join ship as it were. It is an idea which I personally feel is well worth a go. Nobody in their right mind would consider abandoning the Pool for PNE, but give 'em Rovers and I think their heads could be turned. Nothing to lose.
  10. Very good idea. The only problem is I think they would have to allow a 25 man squad, which means there is plenty of room to name kids and big name stars.
  11. I know plenty of Rovers fans around Blackpool who will be watching the game on TV. Why? They don't know about the cheaper tickets, and even those who do ''can't be doing with the hassle of traveling to Blackburn on a work night.'' A coach facility around Lancashire, ala Charlton?
  12. This might be mind games, but the following link suggests Utd may not play their strongest team! Clicky...
  13. Not a personal attack on you JansenPresty but I depsise it when people say things like ''we should have been 4-0 up at half time.'' If from kick off we pass it right instead of left, the ENTIRE game is different to what it would have been. If we score the first chance, we don't get the following three chances. If we miss the first ad score the second, we don't get the following two. If we get any chance tommorrow, we need to take it, as it really is David and Golliath stuff. As we know, Ferguson doesn't lose semi finals. I think he has lost ONE in twenty odd years. (Leverkusen in Champions League?)
  14. Yes but in two weeks if we have played badly and picked up few points redo it in relation to how we are currently playing then! We are in a purple patch and will no way carry this form through until May. Hopefully though, out form will be good enough to keep us around 8th spot.
  15. If we get 70 points (which we won't) we'll be in the Champions League!
  16. I wish it wa still gods waiting room!! Unfortunately, it seems the grandchildren of the living dead have all grown into scummy goldie lookin' chain wearing scum! Its now like Resident Evil meets the Sims!! However, if ever you are in Cleveleys again, it's an eye opening experience (and a fun one) sitting on the bench outside Tesco and watching all the genuine freaks stroll past!! The Cavary is good though, used to be a Sunday recovery method, though t'ale aint cheap!
  17. No unfortunately wasn't me! You'd be suprised, there are a pretty vast amount of Rovers fans around Blackpool and its' surrounding areas, which is why I always used to go on about why the club should do more to advertise itself around these parts. Seems to have fallen on deaf ears though. Shame, lots of gains to be made! Ps. Cleveleys is a wierd little sh*thole, though has a wierd charm about it. I live about one mile away from it,... You weren't in the tramway by any chance were you? £3.50 carvary?
  18. But often when Tomato and Brown start gossiping, the rumours can be messy.
  19. No, it doesn't go back 20 years, it goes back 120 years. It's called rivalry. See the Burnley m/b's to get a taste for it. 372878[/snapback] Rivalry yes... As I said, I love beating PNE (See earlier post) and see it as a feisty derby. But hate PNE? No, not really. Don't like them as such, but wouldn't cry myself to sleep if Jansen went there. Burnley would hurt a little, but to be honest, until these teams become a threat to Rovers (ala Bolton, who I despise) I find it hard to build up much hatred for them.
  20. Plus the way I see it, Hughes will have to work wonders with Rovers to get the Utd job. If this happens, it leaves us in a very, very strong position to appoint a very worthy successor.
  21. If this is about something that escalated 20 plus years ago then I'm not interested. I only care about what benefits Rovers now. If gaining a good relationship with PNE could possibly give us any kind of advantage when good players such as Nugent are ready to move on then I'm all up for it. If the reason the hatred is so strong is something which may too make me stop and think twice about PNE, then equally, I am up for hearing it. Ps. Being bred in Blackpool, I'm familiar with pretty strong hatred for all things Preston, so perhaps my neck of the woods isn't too un-similar to yours in that respect.
  22. I'm with those after a Tugay/Savage CM. I am not Reids biggest fan, but his last two performences have been good. However, I am not convinced he's the man (yet) to do it for us on the BIG stage. Gray MUST. That's MUST start for us at LB. This game, wierd as it seems could be won by the full backs, those who combine their DEFENSIVE attributes with their ATTACKING attributes most effectively. Matteo has neither attribute in his locker. It could be successful argued that he is completely useless. The thought of Ronaldo and Neville attacking Matteo sh*ts me up. Evre and Giggs/Park facing Neill and Bentley/Emerton is another vital battle, but much more evenly matched. Up top I vote Bellamy/Dickov. No doubt. Dickov is much more effective taking advantage of the space Bellamy creates for him, and Kuqi should be used as nothing but a battering ram late on. Also, I think Zurab/Nelsen should be the centre backs, but I have no doubt what so ever Hughes will go for Todd/Nelsen. Why? I have no idea. In a game we need all the quality we have, Zurabs' footballing brain and distibution would be very useful. Todd isn't bad in these departments, but Zurab is better. The most important player on the pitch for is Savage. If he has a stormer there is 95% chance we will still be in the the come Old Trafford. This is the first truely HUGE game Savage has played in for us (Burnley should be childs play for him) so let's what he is made of. I'm strangely optimistic until I think about it too much. In which case I've changed my mind from my earlier 2-2 prediction and change it to 1-3 United. Hope I'm wrong, but 6 wins in a row? I don't think so.
  23. I dont mind PNE too much. Love to beat 'em, but from a footballing sense it could be good for Matt. They play good football, have a good team who are always up there, and no immediate threat to Rovers. Also could strengthen our bonds with PNE, which could benefit us when a certain Mr.Nugent is ready to move on.
