  1. I agree it sounds high but I’ve no idea who it includes.
  2. Much more succinct. 😀
  3. Year ending 30/6/2022 = £24.3 million staff costs of which £21.3 million was salaries…
  4. Underworld - Born Slippy
  5. I’m southern (live in the north mind) and I agree with you 😁
  6. If a team does anything which the opposition hasn’t been trained to expect then they don’t have a clue on how to deal with it.
  7. The emperor’s new clothes.
  8. He’s marking his own work and no one should do that.
  9. I don’t see how that makes sense either! The premise of Goodhart’s law is if a measure becomes a target you can manipulate things to ensure you meet it. In these instances you’ve met the target but you’ve not necessarily achieved the success the measure was intended to help you achieve. I hope that makes sense, I fear that it doesn’t!!
  10. Yep, more bullshit than ever before.
  11. I hope he’s not relying on that money…
  12. He did but going all David Brent did him no favours.
  13. Absolutely, and the point I was trying (obviously badly 😀) to make.
  14. An academy player has no book value - that’s why any transfer fee is all profit (in the accounts)
  15. Surely you’ve not forgotten that.
  16. Perhaps we should just join in 😁
  17. Hopefully not ‘in the mods we trust’
  18. For me no, but I could certainly see how someone could argue they are.
  19. The below is from his first interview - it appears he was happy with the remit to develop young players but only because he’d also been told the bit I’ve emboldened. “We have a young team here, and also a great Academy, and the Owners have a clear vision, which is to develop players and become a sustainable Premier League club over time, so I’m really happy to be involved in this exciting new chapter for the club.
  20. Acceptable as a method for assessing the success of the academy. Not acceptable as a method for assessing the success of the first team.
  21. Yes, I don’t see why planning for that would be a bad thing. Clearly they’d hope to never need that ‘contingency’ but knowing what it would be seems like a good idea to me.
  22. I don’t understand how people are itk on potential transfers (both in and out) but not in regard to players signing new contracts.
  23. I’m sure you’re right about GB only having one list. I just think continuity planning needs a ‘what if this all goes tits up’ option to it.
  24. What about Rotherham? 😁 (and isn’t Hyam suspended?)
  25. Channelling my inner Chaddy I’m going for a 3-1 win. My team would be: Leo Travis. Carter. Hill. Pickering Tronstad. Wharton Ennis Sammie Siggy Telalovic
