  1. They've elected to roll the dice now so why not give him a go. The key to it is a sensible contract with bonuses then if it doesn't work then they can part ways without all the usual nonsense. Got to consider guys like this is we are ever going to take a bit of a gamble otherwise just wheel Grayson or Adkins in and carry on as before.
  2. A perfect take on the situation, you could sense his umbridge at not being thrown a contract months ago. End of the day it'll be both sides equally at fault but it's still up to the CEO to take charge of things like this. At Ewood though it's every man for himself, he could have told Mowbray to button it in no uncertain terms. Or he could have come on and backed his man.
  3. Dunn is a classic old boys club example he bigs himself up as Mr Rovers and a fan then goes against general feeling every time to back his mates. Best pals with Orr allegedly and was assumed to be the one taking the photo of his mocking the badge. Feck him.
  4. He said last year the famous 'we'll see what happens' in regards to summer and 'do they invest, do they go with a younger team or do they want someone else to come in and have a go'. So not beyond the realms that they knew the clock was ticking especially when they'd just delivered a very poor season overall. Stuff like this happens in football all the time they are just employees remember and they are all dispensable at some point. Having been sacked or similar from his last 3 positions he would know the signs very well.
  5. Dunn might be a modern day legend to a lot of fans but hes had enough out of this club and he fired off from his coaching role to sell buildings or something. We need to move forwards not take easy lazy options and move backwards.
  6. I felt the same listening to a few other managers last season, clear, straight to the point and not afraid to say when something just wasn't good enough. Now i know we don't listen to them all the time but in contrast to ours it was a stark one.
  7. VLL, VH Group, Venky's, The Rao's, Balaji, Balaji's son, Madam & Mr D, A raft of hidden agents or Akon ? Nobody knows who actually calls the shots or runs the club so i suppose 'the owners' just covers all bases.
  8. 99 Crimes Belting stuff, that's my contribution to the wine thread and it's all i know, sorry !
  9. Some clubs are set up to roll the dice though and Watford are one, Boro another, Rovers used to be. Changing manager and first team coach every 2 or 3 years needn't be the great upheaval it will be here. Many clubs at champ level do it with varying degrees of success it's all part and parcel of football at this level. If it doesn't work at Watford they'll pay him up and get another in no hassle. At Rovers a new one might last only months or if he gets a water tight contract we could be stuck with them for years even if they aren't up to much. Shite state of affairs but we were past the point something had to change.
  10. I can't see anyone who wants promotion employing TM even if they have a few quid to chuck about. Outside chance he could pitch up at WBA or Boro again of course but that would be down to old pals acts. A club looking re-establish itself in the Championship or one more than happy to tread water then yes he'd be the man. Thing is there is a lot of guys similar to him on the availability list. Only difference is hes been employed in the same place for 5 years which proves his durability. There'll be a few chairmen know hes been very fortunate a number of times to stay here though.
  11. Harvey has been gone for a while though but i suppose if Sunderland go up he'll be trying to poach people. Waggot it looks like another opportunist job there once hes got his feet well under the table and big red warning signs are hes always fancied himself as an agent. I wouldn't trust that guy as far as i could throw him after the training ground episode, yet another taking advantage of the void. If it's up to him who becomes new gaffer he'll want his own puppet and he'll sell the idea to the owners on the back of it being cheaper, just watch.
  12. I'd assume they are going to try and keep the structure in place with all the analytical staff. player development staff and pathway from Academy to first team set up by TM. Who will oversee all that now though ? Even if they get a younger coach guy to slot in or random foreigner who has the experience to run the show ? It certainly won't be Waggot and Venus house builder will be long gone as well i expect.
  13. He'll be off on his jollies now as well the 30th June stuff is just when he'll get paid until. Nobody else's contract can start before then so there'll be a delay now even if they have someone set to come (unlikely). No doubt we'll be hearing plenty from Mogster in the coming months when he's pimping himself for another job on SKY/Talkcrap etc. We shouldn't be hearing anything from him now though in regards to being manager at Rovers or not so the LT will have to come up with something else. Maybe hound Waggot and Pasha into fronting up that might be a good start.
  14. If its been announced then he's off forget about 30th June his job has ended now.
  15. Several of my mates from Chorley area who supported Liverpool and a geordie fan often came to Rovers with me when we were late teens. Same reason they just loved the craic, liked the team because they always had a go but sadly they soon turned full circle when Jack made us a threat to their beloved sides. I'd imagine it's the same now although iv'e no time for these scroats who say i 'support' Liverpool/City/Utd but Blackburn are my local club so i follow them sometimes !
  16. So Mowbray outlined the type of job he wants next but left out one vital stipulation that has weighed him down here and his previous job. It needs to be close to home, isn't it funny that has gone straight out the window now he's on the hunt ? You'd think he'd be begging Hartlepool for the gig.
  17. They could do a restructre i suppose and Johnson is more an analytical guy anyway i think. If Putin struck Ewood with a nuke only one person would crawl out the hole and that would be Lowe. Essentially just seems like a bibs and cones warm up man so easily redistributed, I'm more interested in what the likes of Venus are doing. Don't really have an issue now with Benson he's been around long enough to shake off the rookie tag. Was a bit different when he's in there with a crap keeper and someone as raw as Raya but having Tommy K around takes it to a better level. Watched the pre match warm ups many times this season and they seem professional and thorough. A bit more like it was when John Keeley was doing it.
  18. Compared to what we've had before it's young. Lets not have Mowbrays excuse tombola polluting every thread this is about fans.
  19. Yes a few have pointed that out to the gloating Boro fans, something like 390 thousand urban area population. Although it's only fair to factor distance in as well they have a real hike to most other places in the division.
  20. Ainsworth is a head banger, Tony's favs are Coldplay I think that might explain a lot 😂
  21. ...best away support in the league this season and only Boro (top) above us in the similar sized town stakes. All regular travellers give yourselves a pat on the back a terrific effort especially given how the second half was relegation form. Everybody kept the faith so it's a big middle finger to those who knock the support, i include some of our own fans and people outside and inside the club. The young squad knows the score and they appreciate it.
